## About NetSim
NetSim is a network simulation software for defense applications, network design validation and network research and development.

## NetSim Reviews
  ### 1. Very useful for network simulation

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2017

**What do you like best about NetSim?**

Its a beautiful solution for network emulation tool used for network design & planning, defense applications and network R & D, The Network Emulator Add on allows users to link NetSim to live applications running on real devices. This allows for real traffic to flow via the emulator and experience network effects. In this virtual network, numerous test scenarios, involving real devices and application, can be constructed and executed repetitively for normal operation as well as perturbed operation. Impairment scenarios can studied which included escalating latency, bandwidth constriction at various points, jitter tolerance, packet loss, packet reordering, route loss, fail-overs and single point of failure identification

**What do you dislike about NetSim?**

Network R & D including custom protocol development is minimal, Network lab experimentation in universities are not up to the mark, Defense applications always need security which is lacking, Railway communication networks need faster response, Utilities transmission and distribution like SCADA Communication Networks are not up to the mark. Water/Waste Water, Electric Grid and Oil & Gas
Wireless / Satellite link emulation is need improvement

**Recommendations to others considering NetSim:**

Its a very good product and you can choose with confidence

**What problems is NetSim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Network R & D including custom protocol development - easy to implement
Network lab experimentation in universities - very adaptable for academic
Defense applications - very strong tools which caters the requirements.
Utilities transmission and distribution like SCADA Communication Networks. Water/Waste Water, Electric Grid and Oil & Gas which is very useful
Wireless / Satellite link emulation is perfect in industry

  ### 2. events in an electric power supply network

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2017

**What do you like best about NetSim?**

It uses a numerical model to calculate the quantities and to simulate a power system. The power system is composed of voltage sources, lines, and circuit breakers which almost behave like real time components. The fault instances and the switching events are a great part of the tool

**What do you dislike about NetSim?**

Nothing yet to dislike have just used for some basic simulations and explored the tool

**What problems is NetSim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Have used to make a network simulation system for the design and
analysis of network survival techniques using state diagrams

  ### 3. Network desgining - one of the best software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2017

**What do you like best about NetSim?**

It is very flexible for new users to design networks and learn many topologys , best part is it can support mac os , windows and also linux which is great for a network engineer to use

**What do you dislike about NetSim?**

It hides source code of some files which is a single drawback i found

**What problems is NetSim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Have used this tool to do the advanced routing on the router and switches in order to generate a high integrity network and system management

  ### 4. recommended cisco network simulator

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2017

**What do you like best about NetSim?**

The best part is its compatibility with various devices and how simulation can be performed just like real-time application, it makes easier to understand scenarios

**What do you dislike about NetSim?**

Its interface can be made more advanced for high layer applications

**Recommendations to others considering NetSim:**

Its features can be advanced for high end implementations which will make more use of the software

**What problems is NetSim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Have interfaced externally with Wireshark and created virtual networks and tried numerous test scenarios to test a device

  ### 5. Best network simulator and emulator software

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2017

**What do you like best about NetSim?**

Its the best platform for network simulation. It has lot of features which are required in various applications. We dont have to depend on anyother software tpo execute a task.

**What do you dislike about NetSim?**

The user interface is not that easy for beginers and there re not many shortcuts which can make the use easy.

**What problems is NetSim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have utilized this instrument to produce outline investigation of a server for various stacking conditions

  ### 6. network design and planning quick

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Semiconductors | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2017

**What do you like best about NetSim?**

Allows for real traffic to flow via the emulator and experience network effects, which is a great feature.a simulation can be started and then at user-determined breakpoints in the code.

**What do you dislike about NetSim?**

Cannot transfer c and C++ coding or other codes

**What problems is NetSim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Have used to develop a project on the chip design used for 5G technology and analyze the capability to hold network traffic for the chip
