## About netplex
netplex is a browser-native network engineering platform for building, troubleshooting, and automating enterprise network architectures. It uses QEMU and KVM virtualization to support vendor images like Cisco IOS-XE, Juniper Junos, Arista EOS, and Palo Alto PAN-OS, enabling engineers to test production-equivalent equipment. Supporting over 140 device types across 65 vendors, it applies automatic image fixes during upload. The platform’s distributed architecture employs encrypted VXLAN fabric for horizontal scaling and integrates with AI agents via an MCP server protocol for topology analysis, CLI execution, and issue diagnosis. Engineers can simulate network conditions like latency and packet loss with visual feedback. Features include packet capture, live terminal access, REST and WebSocket APIs, Git-based backups, and a presentation mode with annotation tools. netplex supports IPv6, OSPFv3, BGP4+, SRv6, and topology imports from other emulation tools.
