The solution is very easy to configure. The product allows for the centralization of large environments. The product is stable, easy to deploy and it just works. **What do you dislike about NetApp E-Series?** I didn't dislike anything about the product but the pricing model of the tool could be made better. It's user interface is a bit old and complex so it needs focus for upgradation. Otherwise functioning is all perfect. **What problems is NetApp E-Series solving and how is that benefiting you?** Can the onboard 1GB ports be used for storage connectivity? No, those are for storage system management only, not host IO. With 2 or 4 ports 16GB FC/10 GB iSCSI optical -> A customer received the cable, direct attach Cu SFP+ 10G, 2m. Do they have optical GBICs with fiber connection? Yes, combined FC/iSCSI SFP modules will negotiate down to 1GB speed. ### 2. But when it comes to mission critical services like virtual environments and containers also for high processing databases like oracle and funally its one of the best solutions for big data analytics **What do you dislike about NetApp E-Series?** Alot of administration effort and the high cost for the capital expenditures and operation expenditures. So in the early time we were using it as primary backups storage. This job is very hard in Dell SC Series while upgrading Top-Bottom Controller. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review. **What do you like best about NetApp E-Series?** Deduplication, highly redundant, flash options. **What do you dislike about NetApp E-Series?** Management requires a lot of administrative overhead, software upgrades are complicated, there is a lot of wasted disk capacity in the disk groups/aggregates/volumes/LUNs architecture. **Recommendations to others considering NetApp E-Series:** Review the administrative overhead and loss of storage capacity due to the storage architecture. There are other platforms that are much improved from this older model. **What problems is NetApp E-Series solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is an enterprise storage platform that has been used for hosting applications in a virtual machine environment. It has been used as primary storage, but at the moment it is more of a secondary storage because of poor performance and high management cost. ### 12. NetApp E- Series is a product that is cutting edge and very fast. NetApp E-Series is basically a SAN product that is based on Fiberchannel Technology. The best thing about it is resiliency, is speed, and product distribution according to the business. **What do you dislike about NetApp E-Series?** There's always room for improvement in the operating code as compared to EMC SAN products. **Recommendations to others considering NetApp E-Series:** I would definitely recommend you to use it if you are looking for a highly reliable and consistent storage solution. We manage it from the command line and ONTAP web interface. We are tiering by using SSD and SAS in disk infrastructure. The ONTAP web interface is adequate in terms of user experience and continues to evolve. The document system is comprehensive and it is easy to find answers and solutions to the sought-after issues. Singularization and compression ratios are very good. Replication and failover are very useful. **What do you dislike about NetApp E-Series?** Since the ONTAP web interface was developed later, it still has shortcomings compared to the command line. Requires command line management for advanced management features. I also like that it communicates with Netapp for issues and will notify you of an issue. **What do you dislike about NetApp E-Series?** I wish you had the ability to be able to set different Raid as it only sets up pools in Raid 6.
