I could not ask for a better deal than this! You only pay for it once, your data is stored on your computer, and once you are in an area that has internet service, you can immediately sync with the cloud. **What do you dislike about Mindomo?** If anyone is considering making this investment, I would advise you to take into account that your first year of subscription will provide free updates and Internet Image Search. However, after the first year, you will have to renew your access to both of those things. This may not seem like much now, but you will wish you had known about it before you purchased it. **What problems is Mindomo solving and how is that benefiting you?** I do most of my work on this product (as far as using it offline) when I am flying, etc. I have purchased the Lifetime Desktop License for this software, and it works the best for me. You pay for it only once, all of your data downloads will be saved to your computer (which is where it is best stored), and you can sync your data to your cloud when you move into an area that provides internet access. ### 2. The auto-save feature has never failed me. The playback history has saved me many times when I had to roll back a section of my mind map. My business partner and I have been collaborating in real-time over transatlantic phone calls without any problems. The keyboard shortcuts are an excellent touch. TAB creates a subtopic, ENTER creates a sibling topic, and Ctrl + arrow creates indents and outdents. If you learn these shortcuts, you can create a very detailed mind map in a matter of minutes. **What do you dislike about Mindomo?** None, as far as I can tell. Following class, the display of playback history provides a means for me to illustrate the evolution of student thought, which, again, is a point of learning. This translates well for multilingual teams, and the cost of using these features is fair compared to other tools. I can also add guests who will be able to edit in real-time and use premium features when sharing their brainstorm maps. **What do you dislike about Mindomo?** The AI can create new brainstorming maps that have generic branches, and therefore, they will require substantial editing to complete. These new branches are a great start, but ultimately, they are only the beginning. The auto-generated adaptive previews from link unfurling, along with the ability to add an existing diagram into any conversation within seconds using the MS Teams search message extension, were also important contributing factors to our decision. Additionally, having a role-based permission model and the ability to do an org-wide deployment using the MS Teams app setup policy allowed our IT team to execute a clean rollout of this product to several hundred users at one time. **What do you dislike about Mindomo?** Thus far, we have seen no significant impact on our deployment; however, it is worth noting that Teams permissions will supersede the diagram’s sharing permissions – once you understand how Teams’ permissions take precedence, this is an effective design decision. **What problems is Mindomo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before we adopted this product, everyone had to leave Microsoft Teams to brainstorm with other teams, log into another tool to create a design or draw a diagram, and finally return to Microsoft Teams. I have complete control over the final appearance of my mind map thanks to the labels, summary node feature, multiple connection types (including a new zigzag format as well as a single angle), and the option to establish a custom size for my topics. There are many possibilities for incorporating notes into my mind map, including: code blocks; equations; images that can be dropped directly onto my mind map; quotes; etc (this is not typical of mind mapping software). Hyperlinks at the topic level, the ability to create multiple hyperlinks for one topic, and a few other features are also very useful. **What do you dislike about Mindomo?** One point the theme editor has powerful capabilities, but it should be understood quickly by completing a short tutorial; once I used it twice, I was comfortable using it. **What problems is Mindomo solving and how is that benefiting you?** I develop technical documentation using this tool. All the task types including tasks, subtasks and dependencies and the use of milestone/priority/progress bar features are intuitive to a project manager because they all work as I would expect in a dedicated project management tool, and I can then convert my Gantt Chart into a mind map or outline with one click and assign tasks to my team members, and receive email notifications of when those assigned tasks have been completed and/or overdue, and collaborate in real-time with team members on the Gantt chart. **What do you dislike about Mindomo?** The facility to use Gantt charts is only available in the Business subscription level, which makes it seem like a high cost if you want to only use the Gantt chart function, and when you update a task that has multiple dependencies on the Gantt chart the recalculation for that task does work correctly but it also takes about 1 to 2 seconds (which can be annoying on larger projects); the Gantt chart does not work well on mobile devices compared to desktop devices. **What problems is Mindomo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Mindomo gives us the ability to develop a planning tool to create a link between "creative brainstorming" and "an actual project timeline," so we no longer must duplicate the process of manually changing ideas from one tool to another by using two separate tools. ### 21.
