# Which SSPR tool are schools and universities actually running at scale?

Looking at the Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) Tools category for a K-12/higher-ed use case, thousands of student and staff accounts, enrollment spikes, and an IT team way too small for the ticket volume. Here's what education reviewers seem to actually use:

NIM — a big chunk of its reviews come from K-12 districts, with people calling out smooth onboarding and support during migrations.

PortalGuard — heavily used in higher ed; reviewers like that it's whitelabeled and holds up under thousands of daily SSO logins.

SailPoint — shows up more for large university systems needing governance across dozens of connected apps, though it's pricier and takes real setup time.

If you're running SSPR for a district or university, which one held up once real student volume hit?

Enrollment spikes would be the test I’d care about most. An SSPR tool can look reliable during normal usage and still create a help-desk surge when thousands of students activate or recover accounts at once. I’d want reference data from a comparable district or university showing reset volume, completion rates, and support tickets during the first few weeks of term.
