## MindNode Reviews
  ### 1. MindNode brings order to my work and also to my days

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2025

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

Dumping my thoughts and outlines is a breeze, and since it's fully integrated via iCloud I can access and review my mental outlines on any of my personal devices to maintain continuity. MindNode's visual presentation is minimalistic and I like that it doesn't clutter the screen, offering visual templates that enhance the structuring of ideas.

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

The experience is well optimized for an apple user but it would be nice to see an expansion and integrate MindNode into a mixed ecosystem (like windows) in addition to apple.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MindNode is my main tool for developing drafts, distributing my weekly tasks and organizing my ideas and priorities privately.

  ### 2. Been using it for years, it's never let me down

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julien S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2023

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

I started out using free products like Xmind, I think, many years ago, to mindmap projects, but over time, I felt I needed something more Mac OS compatible and that was better maintained. The people who build Mindnode clearly care about it and have put a lot of thought into every piece of it. I like the automatic syncing, the SPEED of it with larger files, and more. I wouldn't hesitate to dump a ton of files for planning a wedding, a renovation, or anything else inside of it. It's one of my most trusted pieces of software for thinking and processing stuff, and has been for years.

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

I do find that the design of it is a little less professional than it could be in a few places. I like that it's bubbly and colourful, but at the same time, the default being that way means that almost all my professional documents are purple and pink etc., which isn't exactly the best choice every time.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It lets me have a better memory for longer, more complex projects, and to map out each element of it in a comprehensive way that long form text just won't allow.

  ### 3. The Best Mind Mapping Experience On a Screen

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher T. | Lead Design Strategist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2019

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

It's simple to use and there are endless customizations. I also love how I can export it into a number of formats that I can use in photoshop, keynote, etc

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

Nothing at all. They've done such a good job at maximizing its strong points that I have almost no complaints

**Recommendations to others considering MindNode:**

Just get it. If you are in the creative industry, it's insanely useful and helpful to process ideas on screen. I don't need to go through the transcription process based on using the whiteboard or paper and pencil.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem of taking thoughts raw out of my brain and quickly making them usable.

  ### 4. Really useful, highly recommended for creatives!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 24, 2021

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

I like how simple the interface is (both in terms of the interface and navigation). I personally find MindNode very useful for brainstorming sessions and to build up ideas\concepts. I like how all of the features you need are free, and if you want a bit of customization you can pay once to unlock them.

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

I haven't really had any issues with it so there's pretty much nothing bad I can say about it.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MindNode helps me write down any ideas from brainstorming sessions in a nice and concise manner, and share them with clients\partners.

  ### 5. mind map made easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mario G. | Solution Architect - Enterprise Solution, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2021

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

ease to use. It is simple to create nodes and then adjust them. You can have lots of "main node" and you can review them in the pannel on the left and play there directly

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

there is one thing I'd like to do: create "stories" where you have a main line which is a sort of backbone at the same level and then you can add details for each section. This is possible but it would be nice to have a preset that helps you there

**Recommendations to others considering MindNode:**

There are probably other tools but I've found that the team after this app is really working to keep it updated and with some enhancement, for this reason I would suggest this to anyone that needs to move to a structured way of organizing concepts

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Each time you start a pubblication and you want to make sure you have all the data available in one screen, then the mindmap here is the right solution. It is also nice that you can track the competition of each node

  ### 6. I can finally organize my thoughts. What a relief with Mindnode!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel L. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2021

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

The ease of adding branches and moving them around. Identifying them by color. Having multiple projects going. That it's a Mac only app and that it can tie into to-do list apps. Plenty of control to make it visually distinctive between branches.

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

It doesn't seem to allow me to split the branches equally when I place them at the top of the main branch. I don't see that it has much automation controls, such as a if/then else type of situations. I'd prefer that when I create a branch, I'd like to automate the addition of another branch as an action on another parent, if that makes sense.

**Recommendations to others considering MindNode:**

Build it on a laptop first so you know that you can visually work on your projects while on the road.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Countless. Primarily, I'm solving the organization of ideas and elements of an e-commerce business. I also use it to structure the tasks for writing a children's book. Lastly, I use it to lay out topics for a podcast and guests. The benefits are the visual organization that allows me to see a snapshot of actions and the selection of controls provided to help distinguish every elements of my various business projects.

  ### 7. MindNode is a great tool to get your thoughts all in one place!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike K. | Pastor of Impact Groups, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2021

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

MindNode helps me work out new ideas in a free-flowing way.

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

I wish there were more color/theme options.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me brainstorm new ideas and processes in a highly visual way without using paper.

  ### 8. Beautiful and Powerful Mind Mapping Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric W. | Mentor, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2019

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

Mindnode is one of the best mind mapping apps that I've ever used. It does exactly what you need and doesn't try to do more. That way it doesn't get in your way and it allows you to just flow with your ideas. The fact that it also creates beautiful mindmaps with ease helps with the user experience.

I like the fact that I can easily export the mindmaps into PDFs, PNGs, and even a RTF which allows me to easily and copy paste longer from content that's wrapped up in a node.

Additionally, the icloud integration is nice which makes using mindnode on my iPhone or iPad really easy allowing me to be anywhere and use whatever input device I feel most comfortable with at the moment.

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

In the latest iteration of mindnode, they changed some of the quick keys. Being able to set my own hot keys would be better, but learning the new hotkeys wasn't too hard. I just had to re-train my hands.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mindmapping and note-taking with MindNode is just a breeze. I'm able to easily take notes during meetings where topics can jump back and forth, where a notebook or other types of linear note-taking like evernote or nvAlt just don't cut it.

  ### 9. Intuitive, easy to use, and very productive

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arturo M. | Clinical Recruiter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2019

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

This idea-mapping tool is so versatile it can be used for many other projects. You can customize themes and create hierarchies. Use your mouse, add text, move lines around... so easy and efficient.

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

We have found that, when the program is updated, documents need to be updated also. The process is seamless but, from time to time, the program becomes non-responsive.
We also dislike the fact that nodes can only be added horizontally. We wish we could have vertical maps.

**Recommendations to others considering MindNode:**

If you need an efficient tool to easily map ideas, projects, etc. this is it.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have many projects that involve multiple processes as well as multiple project managers. By using this mapping tool, we are able to easily identify the best way to approach complex tasks that require collaborative efforts. This tool has saved us time, and productivity has improved as projects plans are executed with clarity. When adjustments to the "map" are required (almost every time), MindNode allows us to make changes easily.

  ### 10. Great Mind Mapping Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric J. | Lead Portfolio Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2019

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

Mindnode is super simple to use. I really liked the theme's which allowed me to quickly change the look of my mind maps for different audiences and even multiple mind maps. Being able to send the mindnode in open formats was an added plus. also PDF export was helpful for distributing virtual copies of the maps.

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

Not being able to really "layout" the mind map in a way which made sense to me was a hindrance. Also moving nodes between one tree to another tree wasn't very intuitive either. The export to freemind didn't seem to translate well from a Mac to a PC. there were some issues which required us to go in and edit the XML to make it work. Missing attributes and extra attributes made it difficult to really utilize this export feature.

**Recommendations to others considering MindNode:**

Use the trial version first to ensure if does what you want and works well with the way you think etc.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a quick way to really lay out features for a product and show how they were related the "deeper" down the product chain we went. The mind map allowed us to easily show high level big ideas and then all the supporting features and iterations of the product or feature. it also was a great tool for us when developing new products as we could start with a general idea and start to really branch off and see where it took us and those could spawn off into new ideas for us to explore.

  ### 11. Looking for a way to quickly develop outlines for your writing?

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert G. | Ph.D. Faculty, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2018

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

To get my ideas down, all I do is click on the toolbar and start typing everything about the idea without trying to sort or analyze as I type. The coolest part is when I finish, I can create a mind map with one keystroke! All of that might take me 2-3 minutes and results in a visual that I can add to later. I have so many things to remember so I like taking those few minutes and then putting it aside, knowing it is ready for more ideas later is priceless.

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

I can make connections between items on the mind map but one thing to improve would be to allow labels to be added to the connections to show relationships.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work in education and often need to explain sections of a paper and what needs to be changed. MindNode allows me to do that with a picture.

  ### 12. mindnode review

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aravind K. | Research Associate, Research, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2019

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

Before using this app I would be so lost and not know how to start writing what was on my mind. Therefore, so many of my thoughts over the past decade never came to fruition. Fast forward to now... and this app has literally changed my life. I can now organize my thoughts and I’m more motivated to write on a regular basis.

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

The only thing is, on the app store, it says free. but in real, it is not. NO, it's NOT free. It costs $39.99. The upgrade from v2 costs $14.99.
A two week trial is free.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’m a visual learner, so this comes as no surprise that this has helped me so much. I am also on the autism spectrum, so I tend to do certain things differently than most. I am more confident in myself to write, and I am getting my thoughts out there one day at a time.

  ### 13. Marie Kondo For Your Brain

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristen C. | Office Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2019

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

I love that MindNode gives you the freedom of a blank template to organize all thoughts and tasks and further prioritize each task, add notes, reorganize, etc. I love being able to rearrange a node I initially thought belonged elsewhere. It's malleable and easy to access/share with anyone who may need to weigh in.

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

I'd love to see additional app integrations to create a living workspace.
It may exist already and I just haven't found it, but a way to search mindmaps for specific terms or phrases.

**Recommendations to others considering MindNode:**

Again, I'd love to see additional app integrations to create a living workspace. MindNode is a great tool for people who find other applications too structured and not flexible enough for your needs, learning and thought processes.
I initially used MindNode for my personal life to organize errands, workload, and events. Now I use it just about every day at work as a place to keep action items, priorities, and as a think tank for projects.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With MindNode I'm able to visualize my thoughts, tasks, and notes in one place and see how they connect. It promotes efficiency by allowing me to see how things may overlap. The ability to add notes to child nodes allows me to keep, on hand, all of the information I could possibly need.

  ### 14. MindNode

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2019

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

I like that you can share your map with friends and colleagues so that you can collaborate on an idea. It's really helpful to be able to see the way someone is thinking through that type of graphic organizer.

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

I dislike being able to co-edit a mind map. It would be nice to be able to edit together in the fashion of a Google Document.

**Recommendations to others considering MindNode:**

MindNode is a great way to share your process of thinking with others, however you cannot edit collaboratively, so everyone will have to share their own maps and come together at another point.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to collaborate on ideas by sharing out maps with each other. One benefit is giving us a way to see how the other person is coming to their ideas and also gives us a way to go back in thinking to review.

  ### 15. Badass mapping for all ages

The simple and clean interface is my favorite part of MindNode

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

It's a little clunky to use on a phone, but overall there's not much to dislike!

**Recommendations to others considering MindNode:**

If you need a tool to map out your thoughts MindNode is amazing. Cannot be easier to use. It's also great to share with clients if you're in the client services industries.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MindNod allows me to map out my audiences for clients, clearly identifying psychographical data, demographic data, and even mapping out strategies for campaigns!

  ### 16. Great Mind Mapping Software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2019

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

This is the best mind mapping software for mac and ios. We can freely visualize our ideas over the phone or computer. It allows the user to capture and share the ideas.
You can have a mind mapping in one document with different and customized layouts. We can add texts, images, URL in different ways which are quite a good feature.

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

The only thing what I need to compensate with its pricing. It is a little costlier. And also you need to manage it very carefully.

**Recommendations to others considering MindNode:**

One should use this software. It is very useful as it is having many benefits and advanced feature like layouting, quick entry, publishing, import export etc.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main benefits are to personalize your own ideas on your computer and phone. The user interface is very good here. Also the main I do not have to save my documents in any other file. I can directly save it on my cloud and can also publish it. and if you turn on the auto-sync your documents will get updated and synchronized automatically.

  ### 18. Mind node for thought development

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2019

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

Mind node is great to understand how to take an idea or concept or to do and create all the nodes relevant in a train of thought. You take each idea and expand on it by creating multiple nodes. You end up with a beautiful map of each idea and it’s node. It’s also a mental train of throught you can articulate.

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

It gets cluttered when you are making a mind mode. It’s also difficult to edit as you get deeper into the mind node. If you have to edit a lot then you need to be very careful of how you create the node.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s a great way to articulate all the nodes of an idea from front to back. You can see how ideas mesh and are important from end to end. Hi

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

I don’t like that it cost money but it is understandable that not everything in life is free. It took me a bit to navigate around it but I feel like with practice and time it is manageable.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’ve use this in a classroom setting before, I have also use this to rearrange outlines, thoughts and even the professors and teachers and instructors have had high accolades for this.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used this to organize research and it allowed me to map areas of research without note cards or disparate notes on articles.

If there's an added ability to use this application with an Apple Pencil for added functionality would

  ### 29. Amazing software to map your thoughts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

I love the cleanliness of the app and the no frills features.

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

I would like to see more capabilities in terms of having child node stacking. Not everything is linear at times and that would help when mapping more complex relationships.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use mindnode to gather my thoughts on random things as a catch all. I use it to also do light journey mapping of an application flow.

  ### 30. Easiest way to organize information

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2019

**What do you like best about MindNode?**

Branching off of each section happens automatically with the tool, and the bubbles and lines reorganize themselves neatly to accommodate varying amounts of text. All of which leaves a very clean look to the finished chart

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

You cannot have a sprout shared between a single bubble, I wish there was a way to show a shared result/thought/etc from two separate offshoots.

**What problems is MindNode solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to take a brainstorming session and organize it into easy to follow resolutions.

  ### 31. Clear and easy

**What do you dislike about MindNode?**

Not very more customize features, and also could have put new features like handwritten

Can organize my ideas and also share projects with others in a clear and linked way
