The level of additional security beyond that available in 1st party Email Platforms is astounding. I would not run a mail environment without Mimecast being in place. The only drawback for me initially was the cost of Mimecast when I first tried it. However, after switching to a cheaper alternative, I quickly realised that Mimecast’s pricing is justified by the exceptional quality of service it provides. I love how much neither I nor my users have to think about it once it is set up. It just works.

There is a bit of a learning curve associated with Mimecast, and the interface *feels* dated, with many menus and sub-menues to navigate. After some time utilizing it, one does become familiar with where everything can be found. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Good support for SAAS is imperative, and Mimecast support exceeds that in the experience we have had. The feature we use are reliable and we see new features added regularly. Any issues in service is met with thorough and timely information as well as there being almost no interruption in services provided in three years. Good scanning, very few false positives and searchability is invaluable for SARS etc. Use its archive functionality almost daily and was very easy to implement. We utilise pretty much everything Mimecast offers. We have it integrated into Outlook which has pros and cons, don't like the restore function as it's limited to one year when searching as a user but general usage it's fine. The platform is extended regularly with new features to deal with evolving threats. Having a quarterly review to ensure that we are getting the most from the system and it's configured based on best practice is a nice touch and provides value. The mail archive is useful for industry compliance retention purposes as is the content examination feature making sure that customers don't send us credit card numbers. Some of the 'enhancements' have made the system more difficult / cumbersome to administer, such as the removing of the tabs. The system is also expensive, and annual rises of 8% which is mandated to support R&D is steep. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In my opinion, what sets Mimecast Advanced Email Security apart is the comprehensive protection of emails that it offers. It integrates well with Office 365 and boosts our security while doing so without any fuss. One is the real time threat intelligence which is impressive in keeping abreast of new threats. Its spam filter works very well, cutting the number of spam emails to a great extent. A major drawback in Mimecast Advanced Email Security is that the spam filter occasionally mistakes genuine messages for spam, effectively holding the emails hostage until the problem is manually sorted out. This has affected the way we work as often there is need to check the spam folder. Also, it was no easy task to complete the configuration of the first level as compared to the second level, which was a complex affair and took considerable time of effort from our IT department.
