"Mimecast Cloud Archive has been a great solution to have all of our emails archived"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

Updates are easily applied and journaling has not been interrupted since our initial setup. Customer support has always been helpful and responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

Since the initial setup of Exchange to journal to Mimecast, we have had only a couple issues. Journaling was not interrupted. The issue was with the folder sync so that users could see their inbox as it is in Outlook. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Mimecast Might Be the Worst Enterprise Software Ever"
0/5
What do you like best about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

Nothing good to say. The service has not only been useless but counterproductive since the day we installed it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

1) It blocks an incredible amount of easily identifiable legitimate emails including clients, from family members and - this is the best - emails from the company that installed it on our servers. 2) It has ignored every whitelist request we've given it & 3) customer support is non-existent. I honestly don't understand how anyone with business accountability can allow this software to exist in their organization (we are removing it). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Nice and Apt"
5/5
What do you like best about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

Among many, the most helpful features are impersonation, URL protection, Anti-Spoofing and Attachment control. The upside is the control and visibility of malicious/suspicious emails like spam, attachments and suspicious links. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

The least helpful is the limited log and mail retention period, which is 30 days by default. The downside which faces is that granular filtration doesn't function as expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Balancing Security and Usability - Mimecast's Strengths and Challenges"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

Overall, I value the security, flexibility, and user-friendly nature of Mimecast Advanced Email Security. It is a powerful tool for protecting email communications. It allows me to set customised policies that align with my firm's specific needs. Whether it's scanning attachments, monitoring URLs, or filtering emails based on specific content, the flexibility is excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

Mimecast sometimes flags legitimate emails as suspicious, leading to delays in communication. While it’s good at catching threats, managing false positives can become tedious. While the interface is generally intuitive, new users can face a learning curve, particularly in understanding the more nuanced security policies and tools within the platform. Training or familiarisation may be required to fully leverage its potential. There are some advanced configurations that can feel quite complex. Setting up intricate rules can be more time consuming and require more expertise than expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing product, friendly interface, zero account management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

The best thing about Mimecast is how easy it is to manage and implement. From all the basics of emails protection like allow/deny lists, to more advanced features like greylist checks and DMARC rules, it does all from a very friendly interface and once you get used to its logic, the daily usage of IT admins, to the sporadic use by end users just makes this product probably the best in class on its market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

The only caveat to something so ease to integrate and manage is the customer support and account management that is often lacking. Customer support is not always helpful, or will only provide a link to their knowledgebase rather than helping with troubleshooting, and it's very hard to find anyone on the account management side of the house that can be a point of contact for escalations, renewals, and so on. "It's amazing how many emails it stops for us!"
5/5
What do you like best about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

The automated spam screening is probably the best feature as I do not need to worry about emails that fail graylisting, are in RBL, ones that Mimecast detects as having spam content, and email addresses/domains that users themselves want to be blocked.

The customisation of the policies is fantastic too and really allows us to easily finetune what actions we want taking on certain emails and allows us to override it when we do not want action to be taken.

Customer support is really good and the documentation available is useful. I have also completed the Mimecast University and I would recommend this to anyone who is administrating Mimecast.

The large file send and secure message send are part of our business practices now and we feel safe knowing that these types of emails are sent correctly and securely, and with automatically generated instructions to the recipients so we don't need to explain to them what to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

The upgrades last year to the administrator console were in my opinion a bit of a downgrade. I have given it time to settle in my mind, but I liked having the tabs open rather than having to open a tab on my browser. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
