4/5
What do you like best about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

UI is fairly simple for users. Can easily reject and release blocked emails with different levels of approval/rejection. Easy to view emails and optionally display images. Easy to view blocked and permitted addresses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

"Protection against the enterprise email security"
5/5
What do you like best about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

Strong AI-driven threat intelligence for blocking emails, effectively stopping phishing, malware, and ransomware before they reach users’ inboxes. User management is straightforward, and the integration with M365 is smooth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

Some of the things I dislike are that, at times, even genuine emails get blocked, and this needs to be reviewed and cleared by the admin. There is also a learning curve for admins when it comes to managing the policies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Configurability, Needs Better API Integration"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

My favorite thing about Mimecast Advanced Email Security is the relationship with our CSR, Brett Lenzi, who always jumps into support tickets, escalates them, and is a constant good-will advocate for us. I like how rules are easily configurable and the platform is always coming out with improvements. I appreciate the creation of custom rules to block new phishing patterns or suspicious domains and the ability to fine-tune filtering based on our specific environment, like by department. The intuitive rule building interface allows me to quickly make adjustments, and I find it valuable that we're continually working to reduce false positives via allow-lists and block-lists. What do you dislike about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

We really need an API solution - we are missing out on connecting some services due to lack of API integration - MX records are really a legacy method. Limited automation capabilities - we can't programmatically pull email security metrics into our centralized security dashboards or SIEM platforms. Manual reporting processes - security incident data has to be manually exported rather than automatically fed into IR workflows. Disconnected threat intel - can't easily correlate Mimecast threat data with other security tools to get a full picture of attack campaigns. User provisioning inefficiencies - onboarding new employees or managing departing staff, we have to manually update policies rather than integrating with our identity management system via M365. The mx record approach limited my ability to create the interconnected security ecosystem that modern organizations need. API connectivity would broaden the efficacy of the overall impact of email security within the security stack. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful and Customisable with Smooth Onboarding, but Some Scams Slip Through"
3/5
What do you like best about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

very powerful and customisable, Microsoft native controls are pretty weak and lackluster comparatively. Good performance and pricing, nice to use UI as well. Integrated well and getting onboarding done was good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

Some scams still slip through. Admin UI is dated and clunky, policy sprawl gets ugly fast if you don't keep discipline, and pricing creeps every renewal. Also worth deciding if you want a gateway in front of M365 or an API-based approach behind it, that architecture choice matters more than the vendor itself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Email Security Made Simple and Effective"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

Mimecast Advanced Email Security stands out for its strong protection against phishing, malware and impersonation attacks while remaining easy to manage. The interface is intuitive, making daily monitoring, policy updates and threat investigation straightforward even for small security teams.

Implementation is smooth and well-documented, with minimal disruption to existing mail flow. Integration with M465 is seamless and features like URL protection, attachment sandboxing and impersonation protection work effectively out of box. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

Mimecast Advanced Email Security is a powerful platform, the interface can feel complex at times, especially for new administrators. Some settings are deeply nested, which can make advanced policy tuning and troubleshooting less intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Customizable Email Security Policies That Protect Against Many Threats"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

It offers a wide range of email security policies with a strong level of customization. We’re able to protect our environment against many different types of threats, including dangerous malware, phishing attacks, impersonation attacks, and more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mimecast Advanced Email Security?

The interface isn’t very intuitive, and it can be a bit difficult to navigate through all of the policies and find exactly what I need. Customer support has been hit or miss as well. Sometimes I get good support, but other times it’s been difficult and lengthy to get my issues resolved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
