I mostly use it as a second browser, but it works well enough for what I need. It loads fairly quickly and offers decent integration with Windows accounts and passwords. The UX is the same as other browsers so it is easy to use in that regard. It is free and seems to have regular updates. We now use it across our business network and it is great that we can set specific policies up to ensure that the browser operates in the best possible way for our team. The UI is simplistic by design, making it easy to use for all of our employees. CoPilot integration means everyone has easy access to the AI tools that we have enabled across the business. In industrial engineering, we often work with 'Shadow AI' risks where engineers might accidentally paste sensitive proprietary logic into public LLMs. Edge's "Enterprise Data Protection (EDP)" ensures that when I use the integrated Copilot to debug a piece of Python code for a robotic arm, that data stays within the Festo enterprise boundary. From a performance standpoint, the "Sleeping Tabs" feature is vital. The thing that's earned Edge a permanent spot as my default browser is how much it does without me needing to install a stack of extensions. Vertical Tabs alone changed my daily workflow. I usually have 30+ tabs open across research and internal tools, and moving them to a collapsible sidebar means I can actually read tab titles instead of squinting at a row of favicons. Collections is the other feature I lean on constantly. When I'm pulling together sources for a report, I drag pages and snippets into a Collection and export the whole thing to Excel or OneNote in one click, which saves me the copy-paste shuffle I used to do. Performance has been noticeably better than what I was running before. Sleeping Tabs frees up memory on the tabs I'm not actively using, so my machine doesn't bog down even late in the day with everything still open. Startup and page loads feel quick, and the efficiency mode is a nice touch when I'm on battery. The integrations are a real advantage in a Microsoft-heavy environment. Signing in once ties into my work account, and the tie-ins with Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive mean links and files just open where I expect them to. The default new tab page is packed with news and ads, and the repeated prompts to set Edge as default or try Bing feel pushy in a work setting. The feature set is bloated too. Shopping tools, rewards, and sidebar add-ons get enabled without asking, and turning them off means hunting through settings. A lighter default config with these as opt-in would help a lot. On performance, memory use still climbs with a lot of tabs open, and Sleeping Tabs doesn't always kick in when I'd expect. The Copilot panel is useful but shifts placement between updates, so I have to relearn it. Onboarding is also thin, so genuinely useful features like Collections and Workspaces are easy to miss.
