## Microsoft Computer Vision API Reviews
  ### 1. Reliable and Easy-to-Integrate Computer Vision for Real-World Applications

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Computer Vision API?**

I appreciate the breadth and accuracy of its image analysis capabilities. The API can reliably perform OCR (text extraction), object detection, image tagging, facial analysis, and scene understanding across a wide variety of input types. It also integrates smoothly with other Azure services, making it easy to build end-to-end solutions. The documentation and SDK support across multiple languages further simplify development and reduce integration friction.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Computer Vision API?**

The main drawbacks are pricing at scale and limited customization for certain advanced use cases. Costs can increase quickly with high-volume image processing, and fine-tuning models for domain-specific images is not always straightforward. Additionally, accuracy can vary with low-quality or complex images, sometimes requiring extra preprocessing or post-processing logic.

**What problems is Microsoft Computer Vision API solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Computer Vision API solves the problem of automatically extracting meaningful information from images and documents without the need to build and train complex machine learning models from scratch. It handles tasks like OCR, image tagging, object detection, and content analysis, which significantly reduces development time and effort. This allows me to quickly integrate visual intelligence into applications, improve automation, and focus more on business logic rather than low-level image processing or AI model maintenance.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicholas M. J. | Software Application Developer

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Computer Vision API?**

Face Api is one of my favorite features of this application, has a high level of facial recognition, the recognition of famous people around the world is very acceptable, allowing you to work and perform all kinds of tests with different faces already known, plus allows to recognize all kinds of facial expressions, moods, sex, exact dimensions of faces, smiles, also has the ability to detect the age of the faces through a complex algorithm, which performs a complete mathematical operation, based on different points of the face, normally it is very accurate, it is a very complete tool.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Computer Vision API?**

The video indexer, is still in a beta stage, and does not have all the functions to create perfect videos based on the compilation that has been developed in the api, this is a disadvantage with which the application counts and is expected that it improves soon, to be able to extract all types of expressions of the faces and to send them to a video, for its later analysis.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Computer Vision API:**

It is an ideal tool to develop new technologies based on facial recognition, something that is currently reaching high levels of popularity among applications, companies and developers, is an opportunity for all kinds of application developers and developers, to get out of the basics and innovate in a different way.

**What problems is Microsoft Computer Vision API solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thanks to this tool we can develop different applications, which have a facial detection, the advantages that microsft provides us with this tool have no limits, although we have been using this system for a couple of months, we are already in the process of developing many applications, integrate this type of recognition, which will allow us to offer another type of development services in our company.

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Microsoft Computer Vision API?**

Frankly saying it's the most accurate API for computer vision even google's computer vision can't beat it ,it gives the response in JSON object which we can parse easily using python or any other language and the best part of it is their documentation are very easy to understand for any body and then you just have to upload an image and yo'll get the result and all the tedious task like training and testing the model is removed!!

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Computer Vision API?**

while passing frames from a live feed the errors are increased exponentially , we can only provide stable frames as an input!!

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Computer Vision API:**

as i said earlier if you don't know how to build classifier or any machine learning algorithm for your system it's the best API where you just have to parse the response in JSON format!!

**What problems is Microsoft Computer Vision API solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we use computer vision API for recognizing whether the dump is biodegradable(non-plastic) or non-biodegradable (Plastic) and also for so many image classification !!

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Microsoft Computer Vision API?**

The universality of its core, that in every PC you can open its files in many ways. Editing software like this is really needed in work as in college years when a deadline means insane amounts of strees.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Computer Vision API?**

It should have a tutorial instance for newcomers, despite of its friendly display. For people already into the editing software can be really easy but if it's your first time you really need some kind of guiadence in order to make decent work in the application. Should include a free trial when buying a windows computer.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Computer Vision API:**

This feature returns information about the visual content of an image. Use tagging, domain-specific models and descriptions in four languages to identify content and tag it with confidence. Apply content settings for adults or risers to facilitate the detection of this type of content. Identify the types and color schemes of the images.

  ### 10. Detailed Recognition Software Beats Out Google Version

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Microsoft Computer Vision API?**

The face and emotion recognition is second to none. Microsoft Vision API is much more advanced in this area than other recognition software and compared to Googles API as well. This version flags "adult" content very well. It provides useful algorithms which I can use to process specific images placed.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Computer Vision API?**

OCR disappointed a little - it seemed to work better on some images and not so well with others. Microsoft may want to consider revamping this area in order to work better with other aspects of the software which seemed to function at a higher standard than the OCR.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Computer Vision API:**

Microsoft had some clear advantages over the Google version, particularly in flagging inappropriate content, facial recognition. It has a celebrity recognition feature which many other types of API do NOT have which is really neat. The Emotions and Face API are highly advanced and would definitely recommend if that is a focus for your development.

**What problems is Microsoft Computer Vision API solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Utilizing Microsoft API for developing my program to assist in visual detection features as well as determine how well these features interact with each other as development continues.

Can help identify potential adult content if you need to filter those. The cloud API makes it easy to work on across platforms. It saved us a lot of tedious admin work.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Computer Vision API?**

Because little coding is required, it can be hard to push it farther than the API allows.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Computer Vision API:**

Unless you are highly skilled, I highly recommend going through the entire course to learn how to use it (available for free).

**What problems is Microsoft Computer Vision API solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had a lot of non-categorized stock images that we needed to sort through and categorize as photo vs. clip art. With this API, we were able to do that quickly.
