We use Azure Virtual Desktops for VDIs for employees who work remotely and who work from other vendors as contractors. Instead of providing them with a laptop, we assign VDIs for working in client environment and with client network.
It reduces cost of providing laptops, it is easy to connect and use it, it is easy to deploy a VDI in Azure environment it only takes like 10 minutes, less cost in azure for deployment, we can auto schedule the power off at a time even if user left the VDI turned on or forgot to shut it down it will reduce the cost as it is a pay as you go service. I think taking a premium disk and premium hardware is necessary. As many users are allocated to the workstations it might get slow sometimes. It is not as good as using a laptop as we are working on it via RDP or any other software we can feel the lag of response via internet which will take away the feel of using normal laptop or PC and we might feel it slow.
