MS Access allows you to create places to store data in an easily retrievable fashion, allowing multiple users and form views for display and data entry, reporting, and data analysis. Easily mitigable to SQL Server, as you continue to grow. I've turned many an Access database into a front-end for SQL Server. It is unfortunate the Microsoft has chosen to leave the programing language behind with VBA, and not update to VB.NET. Natively, it does not handle more than a few simultaneous users, and though it says databases up to 2GB in size, it becomes hard to use any table over 200K records.
