## About Microsoft Access
Microsoft Access is a database management system (DBMS) developed by Microsoft, combining the relational Access Database Engine with a graphical user interface and software development tools. As part of the Microsoft 365 suite, Access enables users to create, manage, and analyze databases efficiently. It allows for the development of application software and supports integration with various data sources, including SQL Server and Oracle, through ODBC compatibility. Access is designed to facilitate rapid application development (RAD), making it suitable for both novice users and experienced developers. Key Features and Functionality: - Data Storage and Management: Access stores data in its own format based on the Access Database Engine and can import or link directly to data stored in other applications and databases. - User Interface Design: It provides tools to create forms and reports, enabling users to design intuitive interfaces for data entry and analysis. - Query and Reporting Tools: Access includes a query interface and report creation features that can work with any data source that Access can access. - Programming Support: Access supports Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), allowing for advanced automation, data validation, and error trapping. - Integration Capabilities: It can link to data in its existing location and use it for viewing, querying, editing, and reporting, allowing the existing data to change while ensuring that Access uses the latest data. Primary Value and User Solutions: Microsoft Access provides a versatile platform for users to develop custom database solutions tailored to their specific needs. Its integration with other Microsoft Office applications enhances productivity by allowing seamless data sharing and reporting. Access's user-friendly interface and robust functionality make it an ideal choice for small to medium-sized businesses, educational institutions, and individual users seeking to manage and analyze data effectively without requiring extensive programming knowledge.

## Microsoft Access Reviews
 ### 1. Good tool to reference and analyze data quickly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh R. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

It's really easy to use and more powerful than Excel. It's far better than Excel when dealing with cross-references. I started using it more than 10 years ago when a vlookup crashed my machine and continue to use it to this day whenever something more complex than 100 rows is at hand or when I already created a template for my most used tasks. It is very easy to export from Excel to Access with just a few clicks and frankly for my job I don't need something more complex.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

It is windows only application, I bought my daughter a Macbook and when I installed office access wasn't available. It turned up for the better since she wants to be an engineer and now understands how to use MariaDB.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

There might be better options out there for databases but as long as you are a Windows User for simple tasks that are a little more complex than what excel can handle Access is perfect and is also part of the office suite, so no extra complexity there.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have a few templates that I have used in several jobs over the years and they save me time, a template I created for inventory in my last job I use it now to measure the engineers allocation at a project and it's really easy to decide who to assign based on how free they are at a certain week.

 ### 2. Great Database Tool for Reporting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

Access is a great tool for taking massive amounts of data and dissecting it from different angles that can give insights into trends or gaps in the data overall.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

Can be complex to train staff on using the tool.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reporting and analyzing data.

 ### 3. works great for quoting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

I love that you can copy and paste a quote

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

I wish you could copy and paste the customer information section only and the pricing section only

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My Company uses Microsoft Access for quoting

 ### 4. Still the Best for Apps and Front-Ends

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott K. | Director of Technology, Non-Profit Organization Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2016

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

I like that it gives the flexibility to design both SQL and Sharepoint front-ends as well as stand-alone apps. Because it is fairly ubiquitous and has a free runtime version, Microsoft Access is a great platform for developing databases for use across the organization.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

I am not happy that the most recent versions of Access eliminated the ability to do pivot graphs. A number of my databases had dashboards that now must be completely redesigned.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

Access no longer requires quite so much reliance on VBA as it used to; nevertheless, it takes a while to learn, and not all of its features are particularly well documented.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use this product for everything from end-user applications to analytics tools for my own use. I've been able to consolidate multiple Access databases into single applications, reducing the number of data silos and giving more users direct access to their data.

 ### 5. Easy way to create simple database systems

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Defense & Space | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

With Access I am able to quickly create simple database driven solutions with built in UI and reporting in one tool. Advanced coding is not necessary and the tool guides you through building out. Opponents for a robust, end-to/end product.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

Slightly inflexible if you are set in certain UI layouts and customized logic. Report layouts are also restrictive.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I recently used Access to create an inventory tracker for my client. As a project manager I was able to build the solution quickly and by myself without the advanced help of my developers.

 ### 6. At this time, there are more powerful solutions out there.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan W. | Area Missionary, Religious Institutions, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

If someone has the know how to create the databases, Access is a powerful tool to handle your business' data.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

Learning how to begin, or how to build your first database is quite difficult.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

Our organization is transferring over to Salesforce. I know they are not exactly the same, but Salesforce should handle everything we have been using Access for, plus more.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to handle the details for thousands of contacts (individuals, churches, and businesses) Access can keep all their information, run reports, printouts, mailing lists, etc. for all of their data. It is a powerful solution, but hard to make changes to the actual framework of the database.

 ### 7. A decent visual database for light data storage

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Hardware | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

I like that it can quickly be used for data storage and management. It's nice to have a visual representation of the data stored.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

Working with these databases from multiple computers at the same time has proven to have issues in my professional experience.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

Don't use for heavy data storage or for high priority applications, but it's good for light data storage and quickly spinning up a user-friendly database.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping a log of repaired workstations.

 ### 8. Accessibility is wonderful for work optimization

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mariana B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

We carry out better methods to work quickly with information and also obtain the necessary information for our consumers of our services. it is being used throughout the company, as well as with specific customers for special assistance. It is used departmentally for our sales and also for the advertising and marketing team to track our customer and also the task history.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

It would certainly be nice to be able to handle larger databases. The program needs a lot more training or research study than many other easy-to-use products, and inexperienced users have to donate much of their time for this purpose. Creating custom records is very complex and I think this area, in particular, could be intuitive.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

If you are collaborating with a small business, it would be an excellent method for sharing data, in a very organized and functional way, but, if it is a more complex activity, you may need to consider something more sophisticated.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This application saved time to analyze the data, gaining even more with professional productivity. Many people who work in a more traditional way will certainly try to use an Excel spreadsheet to do several things that may be easier in accessibility using Microsoft Access.

 ### 9. A friendlier Database Management Software for non technical users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Genevive K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

Access a good introductory database management software. It helps non technical users to understand the inner workings of databases, like creating tables, data entry, querying, combining data from different tables, generating reports and more. All this can be done from the User Interface and after I got familiar with the database operations, I became more comfortable using SQL queries which provide better control over the databases.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

It is not easy to find hosting platforms that offer Microsoft Access as a database management solution. When the requirements require a remote database implementation, the most available option is MySQL

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

Microsoft Access is a wonderful software for training new personnel who are not familiar with database concepts.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Access is both a database management software and a learning tool for users who are new to databases.

 ### 10. Access Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lionel L. | CEO

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

Simplicity, and ease to startup with clear guidelines

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

If you don't establish good practice early one it impossible to fix.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I own a small startup and need help getting organized.

 ### 11. Microsoft Access

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kirsty A. | Fund Administration Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

Microsoft Access is actually a beginner's tool, which is actually fantastic in case you just wish to keep a tiny quantity of information. It's no exaggeration to point out it's helpful in an environment when you deal with small business mostly. The capacity to develop data entry forms and store and save SQL queries is actually a really impressive style feature. In case you've used various tools developed by Microsoft, I do not believe the learning curve to be that poor.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

Without a great knowledge of just how behind-the-scenes Access works, it could be hard to debug or perhaps create complicated questions.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

If other Microsoft products have a future but can't be discovered or perhaps directly exploited, Access might have the resources to deal with it easily!

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The previous department used Access to monitor all info, present and past, for pupils, staff and teachers. The access is used in order to speak with graduates as well as to keep inner networks.

 ### 12. Manage the bases

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alejandra A. | Markerting Manager TV, Sound System & Photo, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

This Microsoft Access setup will be done in a few minutes. The user obtains a fully functional database in reaction to this. In addition, it doesn't require complex programming, as it is possible for every computer user to work on details that this specific method can gather.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

All information collected using MS Access can be easily imported in almost exactly the same time as required for the first installation. You can also use the simpliest backup option, since all the information is stored in exactly the same place as Entry. It'll take some time to learn, and I don't think it's as easy as many others will find out.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

In case you 're a beginner or maybe you don't have computer skills like me, I would highly suggest taking it. It offers numerous solution tools that can make your life more easier as you willget the real hang of the software. It may not be by far the most important, based on the attribute, but it greatly enhances the context of the functions that you may use.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My work needs more experience and guidance from experts. I use it for everything from end user to analytics software. By consolidating various Access data base into an unified system, we were able to reduce the number of information and provide more consumers with immediate access to personal data.

 ### 13. "Easy to learn for Beginner"

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dinesh S. | RPA Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

It has many more things to like but i really like design view of query . you do not need of any SQL query knowledge you can simply select a query view and select table and then select which column you want in your query and run it. It will automatically create SQL query if you see in the SQL View. I also like Query Wizard because it give different functionality like find duplicate, Cross table , Find unmatched.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

Storage capacity. It is not for the big database it is only for the small level projects. When it contains more 90000 records than it will take time to execute a query. when you join two or more query than it will not respond.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

Use this Software if you don't familier with SQL Query.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used the In Bank Bazaar project, to database storage I am using the MS Access database.
good easy to understand.

 ### 14. Microsoft Access

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henry L. | Data Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

Online and offline access to documents Files can also be obtained from a number of devices including laptops, telephones, desktops and PCs. The finished goods are going to be OK. I use an event management platform sometimes as a multi-event planner. It can be an easy prey to be able to collaborate with other Commissioners and help with planning. I think the "control model" is really useful to me personally, too. All in all, a nice product and with the software I had no problems!

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

I don't have a very high skill level but it still works well enough. I really don't like that at all.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

If you don't have a lot of data and could use a fast and easy method of dealing with it or if you don't have any Sequel Server experience, this is the way to go.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use this software to store my data and to have all kinds of data in one location is very convenient.

 ### 15. MS Access

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nipun A. | Taxation Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

Microsoft Access tends to be a great resource for beginners and for those who just want to record a small amount of data. You can confidently claim it's useful in an area with small businesses. Effective programming features include designing data input formats, writing SQL code, and storing queries. When you've used other programming tools for Windows, the learning process is not even bad after all.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

It's incredibly difficult to construct a database. It needs to be much more user friendly. After an upgrade, the previous version won't be stuck so you can save the previous version to your device.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

Highly recommended software if you are working with huge quantities of data and can't manually build a spreadsheet.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is suitable for those trying to create a huge main info database of information and break it into smaller databases to organize and categorize information.

 ### 16. Microsoft Access

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darlene C. | IT Infrastructure PM, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

This particular strategy is very remarkable as it is an element of Microsoft Office and with some other relevant programs it is truly suited. Being an person with Microsoft, the apps are very intuitive, as well as the presentation is really useful.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

Compared to Microsoft Excel, it is much more learning, but the more choices you have, the more you are able to discover something and the better you are able to program. With an extremely easy screen, you can further enhance that.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

In case you want to experience a tool that allows you to do simple things with DB Id easily and quickly, we suggest this product.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly transfer significant amounts of information which can't get transferrded to an Excel file, and preserve the dirty and fast queries that make up your CV / class.

 ### 17. Microsoft Access - Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rebecca G. | Distribution Account Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

There is one thing so similar among many businesses. Keep your data on the desk, and take data analysis to the next stage with Access. I I Many people don't know that you can compare and monitor several data fields if you construct your database correctly, automate most of the work, which is mainly manual, needed to track the data, and use spreadsheets to collect information. This is an incredibly, very powerful method.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

Control had been quite frustrating in most situations. It's maybe just me, but I usually have good technology, but I don't know how to use It.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

That shouldn't be an problem if you've got an excel. Excel should do all the work for you, without a lot of people even typing it in.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our whole database is Access-based and can be updated. You can easily obtain baseline information from there.

 ### 18. Microsoft Access

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gary T. | Senior Data Center Escalation Project Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

Year after year, this software can be used regularly to coordinate, record and push your organization and projects forward, so you can invest in building a database of all at once.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

Whether the interface is too heavy, or otherwise not weighty enough, managing it can be difficult. The learning curve is complex and very steep.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

Of course, you'll be able to exchange information more quickly thanks to Microsoft Access, which has many features that any organization can use. Navigation is very user friendly and understandable.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We choose Access to handle many databases, and the data is accessed by several people. By this way, no-one can make adjustments according to their needs instead of exchanging information. This means you're going to know that the data you're searching for is still up to date.

 ### 19. Creating databases on Microsoft Access

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

It’s an easy to use interface and allows people to use macros without knowing the code.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

It is not very versatile in its application. There is only so much you can do with the software.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have created a database/ app with Access in the past. It has a simple user interface.

 ### 20. A good method for storing data.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** MERY P. | warehouse manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

I use this software for storing goods stored in the warehouse.
It has been years since my company moved to Acces, before leaning against a server in the Cloud but it was too expensive for what we needed to do.
With Access I can manage the orders and goods in the warehouse, making queries I can extrapolate the data I need to understand which goods are ending and so what orders to make.

We can schedule daily queries and reports to keep our data under control.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

I don't like the 2 GB limit imposed on the maximum size of the Database, a problem that can be argued by multiple instances of the Database and subdivide our Tables on multiple Instances.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

I recommend it because in my opinion it is the most powerful software that the office package offers.
You can manage your data very easily and it's great for small databases!

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Now I don't need to pay other licenses to manage the data I have to store, in fact thanks to the Office software package license alone I can manage the storage, the creation of reports and alerts in my Databases by myself.

The graphical interface is very intuitive and I was able to manage this software in a short time.

 ### 21. The Most Ideal Database Program

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bernard O. | Digital Content Creator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

Microsoft Access is the most powerful and economical database I know. One thing I like about this program is how I can be able to customize it for different applications making it more useful and economical. I also love how it can be integrated with the other Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Power Point and Excel to achieve desirable results. I have come to realize that Microsoft Access has become a very essential tool in my everyday life both at home and at work because of the wide range of features it possesses that make my work easier as it is a complete tool that is able to offer a variety of different possibilities. Microsoft Access also has a vast and very convenient storage capacity that is capable of handling more data.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

From my experience with Microsoft Access I can only give one downside that I have observed and this is that the program tends to become slow once I'm working with a lot of data and this leads to loss of valuable time at some point and therefore requires a lot of patience.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

I strongly recommend this amazing program to any person or organization in need of a competent database program because of its robust and satisfying features.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thanks to Microsoft Access building and managing a database is no longer a problem and I have benefited a lot both at home and at organizational level.

 ### 22. definitely a great way to save data

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** stefano s. | translator of books, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

I like the fact that I can create small tables where I can save my data.
we can save different types of data: "integers", "texts", "dates", "booleans" and many others.
Mo to be able to carry out searches within the tables created.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

the limitations (if we can define this) the 2 GB of storage.
But I can't find any other flaws, I personally think it's a good storage system.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

I recommend it if you are looking for a method to manage your data in a simple but efficient way.
You can create tables and do research on them, you can even save images within this database.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can use the feature called "Form" which allows me to create graphic elements useful for user interaction with table or query data, these Forms can contain both basic elements and additional elements (developed separately).
Gralie to the Access Runtime application, I can also execute the database on a PC where Access is not present.

 ### 23. the best app for storing information

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saba M. | English Language Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

It helps me keep, store, analyze the large datasets that I have in an efficient way

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

I have had problems repairing and troubleshooting a damaged access file

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it instead of Excell

 ### 24. A straight-to-the-point app for databases

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Giorgi K. | Junior Commercial Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

I had no choice but to swiftly acquire Microsoft Access on my first job. That job involves being in a research setting for a well-known hospital. I was a bit worried that the UI can be challenging to get over with. Fortunately, it didn't being unsolvable. Microsoft Access is straight to the point and sooner, I can enjoy making forms within our database.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

I have a superficial critique for Microsoft Access: with technology design evolving, it would seem as if this platform would lose out in keeping up with user experience created in the latest data capture systems. In addition, its capacity is limited in building forms which slowed down our process of data collection. This time though, my team will transition to REDCap. This makes it possible for users to make online data capture forms. We're hoping to make forms for our personnel to utilize in real-time.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

It's a useful application for a narrow set of tasks. GUI is not very intuitive, however it's manageable. All in all, it does its job and not much else.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a Financial Analyst in a major bank in Europe and we use Microsoft Access for data collection and organization. We're also working with a well-known hospital and they utilize MS Access daily after a short training from us.

 ### 25. Lightweight DBMS and development IDE

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ranee S. | Help Desk Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

Due to the pervasiveness of Microsoft Office 365, Access is often a cheap and easy solution for someone needing a small database, or as an alternative to increasingly complex Excel spreadsheets.

The software is simple enough to use that anyone familiar with Excel doesn't need a lengthy tutorial before getting started, but the ability to enhance functionality with VBA make it capable of some fairly advanced development.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

Access databases tend to not scale up effectively once more than 15 users need to connect, leading to slow processing.

The Macro conversion tool leads to bloated code blocks, and attempts to export data to Microsoft SQL server will often require validating data types

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

It works in the short term or small scale, but consider other options

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Access has made it easy to begin the process of moving towards more reliable database management systems.

Errors are often displayed that do not have a solution on the web.
not good for big projects
low performance

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

I recommend it for small projects

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Perfect for our customers who don't want to spend a lot of money being satisfied with low performance.
Usable for many simple or more complex tasks.

 ### 27. A great software that has revolutionized to manage the databases of offices and companies

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander G. | Asesor financiero, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

Access helps my business develop a new portable system in one snap. We use this application on a daily basis for all eCommerce projects. The best thing about Microsoft Access is it fully integrates easily to all Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. First of all, data gathering and evaluation for organisations is made simpler with Access. The various features like the navigation pane, tables, forms, queries and many more others enable organisations to deal with accounting and human resource evaluation easily. Access also makes it easier to store very critical financial information in forms that can easily be saved to cloud and emails for future reference.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

Microsoft Access has got some complex features that can not be handled by ordinary people unlike those who can do calculus. That means that the data entered in Microsoft Access can only be shared to individuals who understand the calculations which leaves those who cannot do calculations with no chance of understanding what is being put out.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

Microsoft Access is a breathtaking problem solving software, that helps to organise organisational records in a proper manner. This is a very unique and important software for any organisation administration and thorough record keeping is a guarantee

Access is very easy to use and is available in the Microsoft suite. It is very good in analyzing large mounts of information . It is also a great tool to store large amounts of information., Access is also a GUI toolkit. It comes with everything you need to build databases.Best of all no coding required.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

Access is not available on Mac computers and is stall a software that poses problems with downloads and accessibility. Access still as a reputation of not being a real database. It is sometimes inefficient and difficult to use. It is difficult to employ and is has poor security. Access uses a substantial amount of space and solving problems and debugging Access takes quite a lot time.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

Access is not a file you will be able to send via email and is not available to Mac users.Comes ready to use with built in databases. You will not find very much support if you encounter errors in the using of the database.Debugging is very tiresome.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Access allows users to manage related data more efficiently and provides more options then Microsoft Excel which is also an excellent product. I solve the problems of having to have may places to store employee information along with out department requirements.WE are able to store information on each course taught, who teaches it and the students take enroll.

 ### 35. Idealistic database management system for trained users!

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nadine P. | Digital Marketing Manager, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

I like that Access is part of the coveted Microsoft family. Normally Microsoft is a brand that I trust and use at work. I like the fact that I can integrate other Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, or Powerpoint within this software.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

There are so many things I would like changed with this software. First, I find that it is very difficult to understand leaving users puzzled. There are other programs out there that would not require a user to have extensive knowledge before utilizing this software.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

I would recommend people who are considering Microsoft Access to test out a trial version first to make sure they are able to navigate it with ease. I found it to be quite difficult as someone who tends to pick up things rather quickly.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unfortunately I am no longer a user of Microsoft Access but prior to leaving I utilized it to upload and manage products for our Ecommerce store. We offered several line products and different variations and needed a database to manage it. We currently just work out of MySQL.

 ### 36. An intuitive and easy-to-use software for Lego users

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

What I like most about this program is its ease of use; with little experience in database management, you can perform enough operations for managing large amounts of data, such as archiving and editing information. The ability to import data from Excel or a text file is a good tool, in addition to the creation of macros to automate tasks.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

What I like least about this program is that if you want to delve deeper into its use, you have to learn SQL, but for the functions I normally perform, it's not necessary. Another issue I think they should improve is its performance in handling large files; if images are included in the database, it tends to slow down a lot.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I consider that for the activities I perform in my daily life, which merely involve editing and storing data for consultation or basic manipulations, it represents a simple and efficient solution, as well as visually pleasing.

 ### 37. access database manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** anyi l. | Lic. Anyi Linares, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

It is a program of the Relational Database Management System created and modified by Microsoft for the personal use of small organizations. It is integrated into Microsoft Office, which includes programs such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint. Microsoft Access was first launched in 1992, and was designed to work with earlier versions of the Windows Operating System.

Access is compatible with the Visual Basic programming language and also works with a variety of ActiveX components. It can be used for free but with some limitations. It consists of: tables, queries, forms, reports, access pages, macros, modules, etc.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

It works correctly with small databases since it does not have enough space for systems with a high data load, among its failures are: duplication of main keys, data conversion errors, breach of validation rules, locked records, among other.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

Verify the requirements for the installation of access since Microsoft establishes a minimum of 2 GB of RAM for proper operation. On the other hand, evaluate the amount of information that will be managed in the projects since it fails with large quantities, this is due to It has capacity for small projects.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

through access, data from different small systems that are currently used in the painter's shop are handled, by which queries and records are made to keep all the information updated, among these systems are: registration and control of suppliers, registration and control of visitors, registration and control of raw material, among others.

 ### 38. Track, inform and disseminate data.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verónica F. | Software Engineer, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

It is a software that allows us to manage our database through templates that streamline and simplify the procedure, making it much easier to track, inform and disseminate important data with other corresponding users. Its price is quite accessible, it has a dynamic and intuitive user interface, so it is not necessary to be a professional in the area because this tool offers the possibility to enter into this context and create databases and then convert them into applications.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

I must admit that despite its excellent functionality it usually limits in terms of storage space, it is wide but it could be better because this could become a limitation for different types of companies and their various requirements but in general terms it is Very complete and efficient.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

I recommend this application for all those companies that need to manage their data easily and safely to be able to dispose of them as necessary and with those who are, it is also quite accessible and worth making this investment.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a program that has facilitated the production of reports, the storage of important data as well as the dissemination of them, helping us to comply with the regular communication channels to optimize the execution of the working day as well as the results obtained thanks thereto.

 ### 39. an excellent database because it has no great claims

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gianni B. | secretary, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

The thing I like most about this is its simplicity allows anyone to manage a small data base in peace and without great TECHNICAL knowledge.
IT having functionalities among which it allows to create and write SQL queries, create views of tables and also allows the design of a small database that a person can safely manage without great technical knowledge.
In addition, like everyone, like all the software in the Office package with excellent graphics and good technical support from Microsoft.
personally I use it a lot with regards to the management of the corporate telephone book.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

what I don't like is its low performance. It is not a database created that large amounts of data for that there are better databases such as Microsoft itself has put on the market Sql management studio.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

I recommend it because even if it is not highly performing for small amounts of data it does exactly what it needs to do I find it perfect.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I solved the problem of managing small amounts of data and doing very fast searches within the tables.
Furthermore, as in my case, a user can only be given reading permissions so that it does not create problems within the structures.

 ### 40. Efficient databases!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elimar T. | Cajera, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

I have used Access for a long time and it has been good for me. It has multiple benefits that have helped me to take control of my business. Customer and order registration is essential to know the progress of my services. Large amounts of data can be integrated into the database without sacrificing performance and is relatively easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

I have not had major problems with Access, but I could say that the design could be a bit outdated compared to the advances that are seen today in terms of Databases, however, the Software that comes with the Office Package and for my small business it is more than enough. It is acceptable that before using it I had to take a small course because at first it is usually a bit tedious to create an operational database, however, then it is very simple.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

It is easy to use, comes with the Office package, does not merit large costs and records data efficiently.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Create databases according to the benefits or information you wanted to obtain easily and efficiently. Data logging is indispensable in any business, so Access has been a great help. Likewise, it facilitates the management of work to the cashiers or other employees since before the records were manual so it was very difficult to control customers, but now with Access everything is registered in the computers and it is much easier to perform analysis .

 ### 41. Access is a great front end to Microsoft SQL Server (and a pretty good stand-alone database as well)

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marc M. | Small Business Technology Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

It is almost ridiculously east to get started. Take a look at some of the sample databases and you already have a pretty good idea where to go from there.

Also the ability for it to act as the front-end for SQL is really intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

Some of the "between" projects that are too big for Access on it's own but too small for SQL implementation could use some added features in Access.

Sometimes sharing Databases and making them "portable" is difficult to understand.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

Determine your database needs now and well into the future, remembering that if your database needs expand you are able to expand into Microsoft SQL Server.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Setting up ad hoc databases quickly allows us to be nimble in our data crunching decisions. This has allowed us to alter projects and make better decisions.

 ### 42. Easy to Use Database Software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris S. | Mr, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

It has a good choice of templates to get you used to the software. I found using these templates and playing around with the settings helped me to get used to it. Data is easily imported and exported to and from Excel. It is also easy to set up queries to make the best use of the data within the database. The software does what it was designed to do so I am very please with it.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

The user interface could be cosmetically improved but other than this I like this software.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

I would recommend that you shop around for a good price as it prices do vary. I wouldn't personally buy this seperately as it is better value to buy Microsoft Office completely and have Access included. Designing and implementing a database can be an incredibly large and often expensive task, however I found this software to be good enough for small business implementation. Microsoft offer a free trial of the software on Microsoft 365, so you could try before you buy.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With a Microsoft Access database, you have a central location that all employees can easily access no matter where they are. The database contains the most up-to-date information for your company on such things as employee information, sales contacts, marketing contacts and customer leads. This database allows you to organise this information in a variety of ways to see how productive certain areas of your company are, what brings in customers and where there’s room for growth.

 ### 43. Visual database, easy access, secure database

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Murat A. | Expert Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

We received the program with the office program package installation was done with this program. The installation process was problem-free and took a very short time. Database creation is a simple process, it is nice to present a visual work. This is perhaps the biggest difference from normal database applications. You can also work without the need to write commands. The visual features and menu designs are great. Even beginners can use the app with a short research. The quality of the technical support we receive is also very positive.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

In general, we were satisfied, but we had one or two problems. the first thing that comes to mind; In an access database file with an increased data size (extension * .mdb), the file opening time can sometimes be long. Sometimes that; very rarely the file freezes at startup, may need to repair. this is not the case with every file. In general, the application is a problem-free and very useful software.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

I would definitely recommend them.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Access is actually the second database application solution we use. For larger data, we use a more professional application whose main task is database management. In this review, I will not write the name of that application, but the access program and the manufacturer of this application are the same. Since we are a bank, we keep our real database in that application; we keep our data with smaller and medium-sized data in access. With the visual presentation of Access, even personnel who do not know the database language can access this data with the mouse. We keep logistic warehouse usage, fuel consumption, monthly accounting data and similar medium-sized data in these databases. It's much easier to back up, recover from backups, and access data. In this way ; we don't have to give every employee access to our real database, which provides security.

Microsoft Access is an essential application to answer the multiple information queries of the diverse and numerous elements contained in our Telecom network. Thanks to Access, my work team and I have created multiple databases that include information and inventory of IP addressing, equipment acronyms, equipment brands and models, switch ports, internal and external clients, and many more options, which allow us to make our daily performance more efficient. Constantly, the databases are updated and its growing don`t stop. All the operations that we can do from Access are fabulous.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

Microsoft Access is one of my work tools of great importance and in the time that I have used it I have not got something negative to add.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

Widely recommended to create databases and thanks to its interoperability with other applications such as Excel, to name one.

**What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Definitely, with Access, we can make countless queries that allow us to design the different technological solutions required by our internal and external customers. On the other hand, having control of the giant inventory of elements that make up the Telecom network is vital to continue meeting the daily requirements of our Corporate Organization.

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

One of the things that i like the most is the amount of leg room it gives you in configuring the data, also it is capable to connect to other softwares, it is easy and fast to use it without mention that it's simple too, the tools can be accesed by means in the menu, it makes it simple when a beginner in programation starts to work, it is the best option the the basic area.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?**

Well one of the main problems that i found on this software it's that have a few restrictions that can also lead to many confusions, they need to update the security policies to make it trustful to work on this software and the other problems is that it doesn't have many features as i believed, compared to other programs that are more advanced and for a professional can find this software obsolete to create a database.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:**

If you want to be a professional programmer and you want to create or manage databases from the begining, this is the software for you, you won't regret it, it's easy and fast to use, and it's basic too.

**What do you like best about Microsoft Access?**

What I do not like about Microsoft Access is that it can not handle very robust databases, motivated by the volume of data they have, on the other hand, Access has limitations in the processing of advanced searches, all the information in a database it is stored in a single file, this limits the options and how to choose to use the data, it slows down the reports, the queries and the forms and, in addition, if you want to use them for corporate environments, it does not work due to its low stability.
