**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I love Mendix because it works quickly and offers many features. The possibilities around data integration and user experience are particularly useful for me. Normally, creating a good UI or data integration is a lot of work, but with Mendix, I can quickly adjust data. Moreover, Mendix makes it possible to quickly make customer-specific adjustments and develop many apps. The initial installation was very easy; we could start small and now continue to grow and expand.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Mendix requires discipline to remain consistent and maintain standards. Despite offering flexibility, that flexibility can sometimes work against you, especially in the governance around teams.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Mendix, I can make customer-specific adjustments and quickly modify data, which is normally a lot of work. It offers features for data integration and user experience, allowing me to work faster despite changing customer requirements.

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I use Mendix to study Low-Code development and create quick prototypes of web applications, validating business logic without needing to code everything from scratch. I really like the intuitive drag-and-drop visual interface, which makes it easy to create screens and model data without complication. The drag-and-drop feature allows you to build complete interfaces and connect logic blocks visually in just a few minutes, eliminating syntax errors and speeding up the delivery of functional prototypes. Additionally, the initial setup is very easy and quick, thanks to the cloud-based platform, which allows you to start creating projects directly through the browser or with the simple installation of MendixStudioPro, without complex development environment configurations.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Version control in large projects can be confusing and generate conflicts that are difficult to resolve visually. Additionally, platform dependency limits the customization of more complex codes or very specific integrations outside their ecosystem.

I use Mendix to study Low-Code development and create rapid prototypes of web applications. It solves the lack of time by accelerating system development and allowing the assembly of complete interfaces visually, eliminating syntax errors.

  ### 3. Efficient Integration, High-Quality Development

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angel T. | Operational Excellence Manager, Management Consulting, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I used Mendix as part of a Siemens Teamcenter (PLM) implementation and found it a huge advantage that complex solutions like SAP or Teamcenter can be integrated. Mendix largely eliminated tedious work with Excel, offering greater flexibility and easier collaboration through sharing policies, comment functions, and notification options. I appreciate the support Mendix provides, with partially free training and developer support available if needed. Its key advantage is speed, where with just a few clicks, the AWS cloud environment is set up, allowing me to develop my own data model and the corresponding GUI. This makes Mendix a fantastic tool for building new applications. The initial setup of Mendix was also easy.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Expense of usability is the complexity that comes with Mendix. The features and training comes at a price but you receive correspondingly high quality development work in return.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix eliminates tedious Excel work, offering greater flexibility and easier collaboration through sharing policies and notifications. It speeds up application development with AWS cloud integration, partially free training, and developer support. The complexity affects usability, but the development quality is high.

I like Mendix for its out-of-the-box connectors and ease of use, which means we don't have to write integrations from scratch, allowing us to really accelerate our solution development. Mendix makes it easy to build solutions and is faster than traditional full stack development. The initial setup was super simple, just 'easy peasy lemon squeezy', which was a great start for us.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

As a SI partner, it would make our lives easier if we can get a roadmap of improvements that are coming to the platform. We are sometimes in conversations with our customer where they question the relevance of Mendix as a platform in the age of AI-enabled development. Having an insight into the product roadmap will help us be better educated on responding to customer questions like this.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Mendix accelerates solution development with easy-to-use, out-of-the-box connectors, eliminating the need to write integrations from scratch. It's faster than traditional full stack development.

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I like Mendix for its rapid application development capabilities, which make implementing complex requirements and developing customer-facing websites easier. The implementation time is notably less, allowing for quick project turnarounds. I also appreciate the domain model feature in Mendix that visually represents database entities, making it simpler to manage multiple tables and entities by categorizing them into modules.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

I think that Maya AI needs to improve. I find that the support provided by Maya AI is not as valuable as it seems to be right now. If Maya AI is going to help us in the future, it should be able to handle queries more effectively, like dealing with entities and attributes. Right now, it doesn't quite meet my expectations.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix helps me with rapid application development, making implementing APIs less stressful and speeding up development. I like the easier development and faster implementation time it provides. The domain model feature helps by visually organizing database entities.

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I like using Mendix because it's a very powerful tool that allows developing applications quickly without heavy coding, supporting our team in building and launching new solutions efficiently. The low-code nature of Mendix is great because I can integrate Java and JavaScript code, and even React Native components as widgets, making it very open to adapt to third-party functionalities. I appreciate that with Mendix, a complex application can be developed within a month, and specific features, like a page with a dashboard, can be completed within a day. This speed is unmatched compared to legacy applications, which can take months. Additionally, I find it hugely beneficial that Mendix simplifies tasks like adding buttons and setting click functionalities drastically compared to traditional coding. Lastly, the setup process was very simple; I just downloaded Mendix and used it.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

I don't like the support ticket system in Mendix because it takes at least two weeks to get a reply. If they improve the ticket system, it will be very helpful for me.

  ### 9. Streamlined Data Access, Customizable with Low-Code

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manish K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I like that with Mendix, we can build a lot from the base with less code. It's really helpful for displaying only the required information to users without overwhelming them with unnecessary details, especially since we had challenges with user access for Teamcenter. Mendix has been significant in that aspect.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

They say no code, however we see certain code is required. We are looking for a feature similar to SharePoint where we have more configuration than customization. We had certain training from experts, however, it was overwhelming.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Mendix to streamline user access, ensuring they see only relevant information from Teamcenter without overwhelming details.

  ### 10. Fast, Easy App Development with Seamless Multi-Source Integration

**Reviewed by:** Gianni D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

The ability to create an application in an easy, short cycle is a major benefit. In addition, the capability to integrate multiple sources and systems into a single application greatly helps to drive and manage digital transformations.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Low Code does not really exist as advertised. The concept of citizen developers works only if two conditions are met: (1) they have basic knowledge of data, data models, and application structures; and (2) they are provided with a strict, valid concept that defines clear boundaries within their company.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Managing Coexistence Scenarios during a digital transformation program
2. Providing a board ready dashboard with all needed information in various sectors of the company
3. Production dashboard for light out factory
and many more...

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I find Mendix very easy to use, especially for mobile app development. The visual model-driven environment and the ability for single-codebase cross-platform deployment are fantastic. I love the reusable widget ecosystem. These features really speed up work, cut down errors, and allow my team to build apps that match real business needs. Blending visual tools contributes to these benefits as well. The ability to connect with many tools and software is another aspect I appreciate. Additionally, the initial setup of Mendix was fast and easy.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

I find the complex custom code limits, high licensing costs, difficult source control merges, and performance tuning for large apps to be a bit of a challenge with Mendix.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Mendix for its easy-to-use, visual model-driven environment, which speeds up work, cuts down errors, and helps teams build apps that match real business needs.

  ### 12. Perfect low cod platform to learn and use.

As competing with new age technologies Mendix has introducesd there Ai tool too which is significantly decreased my time and the main thing accuracy got improved.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

As said exept initial setup it is good. But I feel one more thing now which is price. I do agree that Mendix has improved Ai functionality way better but I think for the small size companies pricing should have brought to lower range.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix helping me to improve my performance in coding as well as to increase my productivity. This is a good learning platform for aspirants.

**Official Response from Yolanda Dong:**

  ### 13. Excellent Visual Coding for Collaborative Domain Models and Workflows

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kendall S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

Visual coding is excellent, not only for the development process, but for collaboration with product owners who are not code-savvy. We can create domain models and workflows together on a call, and then fill in the logic later. Clients love this!

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

The ONLY thing that is difficult sometimes is finding solutions to problems that have different answers based on the version you are on. Love that things are improving all the time, but information becomes outdated quickly. Would love for the forums to have version attachments so you know you are asking and answering questions for the relevant version. Even MAIA struggles with this occasionally.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of use, quick application development and fast iterations for collaborative projects that can easily fit into Agile methodology.

  ### 14. Mendix Makes Building Complex Apps Easy—Even Without Deep Expertise

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eda E. | RD Consultant, Mendix Developer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

what i love most about mendix is this: even if you're not an expert in something, you can still build it thanks to the platform. For example, i am not a database specialist, yet i can design complex domain models, relationships, and data workflows with ease.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

most of the trainings are heavily document-based. Yes, there are classes, but they are rarel opened and they progress very quickly. with so many experts avaliable, i dont understand why topic-based and case-based content- such as detailed youtube sessions - is not being produced.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix primarily brings speed and flexibility yo us as developers. So far, I do not remember ever telling a client that an integration was "not possible." The platform is incredibly flexible and can be shaped according to the need. It's amazing!

  ### 15. Help your customer to get a software what they need, easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** István S. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

It’s built to make software developers’ lives better. You can focus on the task and the business process instead of fighting with infrastructure code. As an architect, you still have all the same opportunities and solutions you’d have with classic coding processes while you develop.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

The Linux runtime environment support might be a bit outdated, but that feels like an edge case. There are plenty of other options available, so it’s not a major issue overall.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work for a customer software development company, and Mendix makes our life easier at every stage of the software development process. With it, we can create custom software much faster and more easily. We can also adapt the software to changing needs much more quickly than before. The go-live is also less painful.

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

It’s developer-friendly, easy to learn, and makes it possible to build a high-quality application within just a few months.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Maybe we could have more video presentations that focus on the implementation perspective.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From every perspective, I’d say it works well—whether it’s tracking daily activities or providing solutions for large-scale companies.

  ### 17. Fast Development but Challenging Setup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesse H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I use Mendix for our new internal websites and appreciate the speed and efficiency it offers. It's been really convenient for our developers, enhancing our customers' experience as well. I particularly like the microflows drag and drop functionality and the overall drag and drop interface. Instead of writing actual code, which can take time, I can achieve speed using the interface.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

I don't like the merge conflicts between developers, and more specifically, the visibility of what changes have been made in a commit. The initial setup was very hard because we cannot use the cloud and had to forward through IIS.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Mendix boosts speed and efficiency for our websites, improving our developer convenience and enhancing customer experience.

  ### 18. A Low-Code Powerhouse for Rapid Custom App Development

I use Mendix to build custom applications that connect multiple enterprise systems, and I love its low-code functionality. It has some cool templates you can reuse, like the Quality Inspection and Teamcenter Connection templates. I appreciate the different cloud and on-prem options for deployment, as well as its scalability and security features. The workflow modeling functionality is also quite useful for mapping business processes into meaningful application flows. Teamcenter connector is great for integrating with the PLM and fetching data for creating meaningful dashboards. It was very easy to set up Mendix Studio Pro.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Usability could be more simplified in comparison to an open-source app like lovable in similar parlance so that user trainings may not be needed extensively.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Mendix to rapidly build custom apps, addressing diverse enterprise customization needs. Its low-code functionality, templates, and integration with Teamcenter help create real-time dashboards. Mendix's workflow modeling simplifies visualizing business processes, making it scalable and secure across various deployment options.

  ### 19. Revolutionized ERP Development with Simplicity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I love how Mendix is designed to make everything simpler. Coming from a computer science background, it's impressive that instead of writing lines of code just to display 'hello world,' I can create a fully functional and extraordinary UI in just three months. Mendix also solved a complex problem for our client by simplifying a process that previously required navigating six different SAP GUI tabs into just a couple of clicks. The initial setup was awesome, making it easy to get started quickly.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

When a new module is released, I would say the documentation can improve. For example, I tried to work with the workstation client for the first time and I did not find any screenshots or detailed description on how that can be used.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Mendix to simplify ERP system processes. It consolidates custom SAP processes, reducing clicks needed for tasks, and enables building functional UI quickly, solving complex client issues.

  ### 20. Mendix Shines for Secure, Scalable, AI-infused, Enterprise Apps

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco S. | Product Manager AI and Low-Code Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

Mendix has great Citizen Developers capabilities, connectors, and example apps to build secure, AI-infused applications in an enterprise setting (security, guardrails, and compliance) with the possibility to scale the applications. I'm working with a few platforms, and Mendix stands out. Using Maia, the AI-assisted function, you can prompt the generation of artefacts you need in your App.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Personally, I don't like that there is no way to prevent someone from upgrading the app to a higher level and committing it. This can cause some inconvenience. We solved it by making good rules for that in the team.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Mendix, you can focus on the business problem. Most of the technical details are abstracted from the actual development by using the low-code/no-code/AI-generated IDE (StudioPro).

  ### 21. Rapid Website Development with Custom Components

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James B. | Disbursements/Refunds Team Lead Financial Aid Officer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I like Mendix because it lets me use custom components through React when Mendix doesn't have what's needed. Also, I appreciate how quickly we can get websites built if the customer just needs something simple and less complex. The initial setup was simple, especially since we went through training.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

When code merges are needed and conflicts arise, I feel like that's an area that can be improved. There's very little highlighting of the areas that have changed or are creating the conflict.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix allows us to build sites faster than traditional coding. I appreciate the ability to use custom components through React and how quickly we can build simple websites.

  ### 22. Powerful Development Tool with Some Challenges

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fabienne K. | Consultant en Ingénieur logiciel, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I love that Mendix is a wonderful and easy-to-use development tool, with significant flexibility for developers. It allows for relatively advanced technical customization and facilitates the creation of secure and functional applications. Its rights management is impressive: one can define access rights on a very fine scale automatically, which is truly an asset. The presentation of the domain model is also a central point, offering a visual map of the database that simplifies processing and allows for many things around this database. The microflows are also something I greatly appreciate.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Mendix is not simple for anything related to custom interface. If you want to create custom UI, it is significantly more complicated. Mendix is also not a document manager. Creating and managing documents like Word, Excel, and others is not particularly easy. There are also many critical functions (such as retrieving the user during an SSO session) that are embedded in Java actions, which makes customizing these operations difficult. Another very negative point for me is the way Mendix uses git. It uses a git clone and not a checkout, which quickly makes development cumbersome. It had to be implemented on-premise, and from what I've heard, it wasn't an easy task. It is still problematic today because Mendix doesn't really allow for strict processes, and this causes issues with our pipelines.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix facilitates the creation of secure and functional applications. Its rights management allows controlled access automatically. The domain model offers a simplified visualization of the database.

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

As a person with classic programming experience, I very much appreciate the Domain model feature. It takes off the hassle of setting up database, its tables and associations, writing long text queries. I also like the automatic rewrite of everything (for example when I change a name of a microflow, it changes everywhere its used). Since I'm not a frontend person, Mendix makes it much easier for me to create something in a few minutes that I can show to the client. Something thats made from already working and tested widgets.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

It makes sense that whenever there is a need for classic programming (let's say the client wants a very customized widget that doesn't exist on Marketplace) that the editor for that code (Code tab of Javascript and Java) isn't as detailed as in classic programming IDEs such as VSCode because classic coding is what we want to use as a last resort in low-code development. However additional work on this section would be much appreciated. For example the editor doesn't always show the mistakes one makes, there is not much color distinction between variables, functions and other parts of the code which can make it difficult to read. As Linux lover, it would also be great if Mendix had its adaptation for Linux as just running Windows can take a lot of machine resources compared to Linux.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix is making digitalization of everyday business tasks much faster and cleaner. Thanks to predefined microflow actions and page widgets, the development of an app is so much faster and easier than with classic programming. So is translating of texts and configuring different parts of the app. The customer also likes to see the logic behind the program in microflows, that way they can understand it easily even if they have no IT background. This helps build transparency in projects and therefore trust between the client and the company, that delivers the product. There can often be security issues with Java, where some libraries have a critical security flaw and need to be replaced by other libraries. Mendix takes this responsibility of the developers shoulders. Therefore developers, who make apps in Mendix, often don't have much of a technical backlog apart from maybe updating the Studio Pro and its apps to the newest versions. The amount of time that would be used for the technical backlog can be spent with the client working on the actual features we are delivering them - Mendix makes development more product oriented and takes care of the surrounding tasks for us.

  ### 26. Easy to Use, Lets Us Focus on Business Requirements and People, Not Tech Hurdles

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

It's easy to use and allows you to focus on business requirements and people instead of technical hurdles.
The power of Mendix lies in the ease of implementation and ease of integration

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

It’s quite slow, and the existence of multiple versions leads to repeated upgrade projects. Also, its vision and positioning regarding AI could be clearer and stronger.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A company-wide app that allows HR staff to track their career progress and access the internal academy. It also offers features to support business needs such as payroll, time registration, and facility management.

  ### 28. Accelerated App Development with Mendix's Strong Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ömer T. | Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I really like Mendix for its end-to-end productivity and workflow process focus. It's great that it has governance and security built-in, which is crucial for enterprise apps. The integration capability is impressive too, meaning I don't have to start from scratch every time. Mendix also allows collaboration with businesses, and I appreciate the reusable components. It solves key problems for me, especially in terms of speed as I can deliver working apps fast and iterate quickly with business users. Its process automation capabilities are a big plus, allowing me to build workflow-heavy apps without coding everything from scratch. Mendix also meets our enterprise needs with its governance, security, and integration features, making solutions production-ready and maintainable.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

UI flexibility is good, but truly custom UX can still require some workarounds. Licensing pricing clarity for certain enterprise scenarios could be simpler, and the AI features of the platform should really be improved if low-code can still remain faster.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix speeds up app delivery and iteration, automates workflows without coding from scratch, and meets enterprise needs for governance, security, and integration. I use it for creating business apps, process automation, and ensuring solutions are ready and maintainable.

  ### 29. Innovative UI, Needs Scalability Improvements

I find performance at scale and complex integration could be improved.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 30. Mendix Makes Development Less Complex but More Efficient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthias S. | Mendix Expert Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I love to work with Mendix because it takes away the complexity of coding. It helps me to focus on processes with the customer rather than on the code itself.
Also, the complexity of hosting is taken away, if you have the standard Mendix package everything from spinning up environments, databases etc is done for you.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

The versioning system in itself is great since regular upgrades are available and pushed. The downside of Mendix is that you have to install a lot of different IDEs to be able to stay on track io the changes are pushed directly to the IDE.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix helps me to get business problems solved very quickly. If you want to change something, it can be done in a matter of minutes and be deployed immediately. So the go to market is very quick compared to more traditional high code languages. Mendix can be used to solve very small business applications to be responsible for maintaining the core of an enterprise.

  ### 31. Quickly Build Complex Applications with Ease

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I use Mendix on a daily basis. The ability to quickly create new complex application.
I have built a few apps in just a few weeks containing complex flows and integrations.
The fact that you have a visual representation of your code makes it easier to understand complex flows.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

License costs for single users can be a bit high. I understand that this isn’t the primary focus for Mendix, but there’s a huge market that would use Mendix if the licensing were a bit more affordable (in my opinion).

Some features also still feel missing. Complex data filters for Datagrid2 aren’t optimal yet. The newer Datagrid2 filter additions—like paging, page size, and count options—are a nice step, but they don’t work properly in my experience. When working with large amounts of data, the count doesn’t behave correctly when I clear all filters in a nanoflow, because it counts before the data has finished loading. I ended up developing my own JS action that waits until the filters are cleared and only then triggers the count.

These kinds of “basic” features still feel somewhat lacking to me.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'd say speed and complexity. I'm able to develop complex application more easily and I'm able to do it faster as with traditional coding.
Ofcourse,
