What do you like best about Melissa Data Quality Suite?

Our donor database cleanup was an ongoing problem for the non-profit I worked for. We had years of hair pulling and thousands of dollars spent trying to keep it up to date. Spending time on Google or county tax sites doing reverse searches for homeowners names based on addresses was very time consuming and often provided inaccurate results. We needed an affordable way to clean our data in addition to it integrating with Excel. With Listware for Excel the rates are very affordable. Our foundation had about 30+ excel mailing and event attendance spreadsheets dating back 6+ years that needed to be merged into a master list in preparation for moving all our data to GiftWorks. With one click of the mouse I was able to run the entire spreadsheet containing almost 10,000 donors for less than $100. It provided phone numbers and email addresses to contacts that previously had no information in those fields. It is extremely user friendly. So much so that some of our volunteers were able to use it and share in our effort to have an accurate and clean donor database. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Melissa Data Quality Suite?

No Apple integration. It didn't work in Excel for Mac. I had to constantly switch to a PC just to use this the Listware software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Stop wasting time trying to verify data via Google. 5 times out of 10 it is not up to date. This is a surefire way to have contact records updated with verified information. You'll feel like you're using the best tool made available and that in itself gives you a sense of assurance and relief throughout the entire data cleanup process. What problems is Melissa Data Quality Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

We were so far behind on our data we couldn’t keep up. I was fed up and worried about how much time it was taking just to clean up and verify all of our data. So one night after work I took to Google determined to find a solution. That’s when I came across Listware for Excel. It was essential for us to clean and update our donor data because our outdated data resulted in every mailing not only having a significant number of undeliverable mail but all of the costs associated with wasted postage. Being able to accurately add missing email addresses, phone numbers, and addresses enabled us to be more cost efficient when preparing to send out a large mailing. The merge and consolidating of duplicate records in Listware cut down on our operational costs. I wanted to do a run through to verify Listware would actually provide me with correct information before proceeding to use it to populate, de-dupe and edit our entire database. I did some initial testing with contact information I knew to be accurate but left out a last name here and a street name there. After the first run-through it populated fields and accurately identified the correct information. It was then I felt confident that the data we were given was accurate enough to update and import into the GiftWorks donor software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Melissa Data Quality Suite?

Software: We use the web service quarterly for NCOA and the SSIS on-premise components.

The on-premise gives us:

1. More flexibility for creating custom matching rules

2. Our version of the "golden record" criteria

3. Control over how the data is processed.

4. Ease of updating the monthly address data by copy/paste the data file onto server in the appropriate directory without need for updating the SSIS package or re-deploy.

What do you dislike about Melissa Data Quality Suite?

1. The "Phone Home" usage process. It requires an open port to allow a text file to traverse back and forth. We are very skittish about opening a port to allow 3rd party files in or out of our systems.

2. The Software sometimes does not pick up the License renewal key in the designated server environment variable. Sometimes we need to update the configuration text file on the server to ensure the software picks it up.

Ensure there is a person with SSIS experience with good analytical skills.

The Melissa Data technology works seamlessly with SQL Server Integration Services, and provides another way for my clients to achieve highest data quality information. I have been able to answer questions about the product, including how it might integrate into SQL Server 2016 (latest, and most recommended as of September 2016). What do you like best about Melissa Data Quality Suite?

Very straightforward installation & Configuration steps. We configured Personator & Match process and part of our daily SSIS ETL load process.

Very Easy to use.

Procured missing customer information . We simply passed Basic details of out Customers like Name, Address, Phone Number and Personator application was able to append Emails, New Addresse if moved, Phone number, Geocode. Personator also standardizes existing customer information

What do you dislike about Melissa Data Quality Suite?

Having Customer Primary and Secondary address will help us a lot. as some Customers tend to use secondary addresses for Business communication.

Email Address Soft Ping should be made real time with in Personator.

What do you like best about Melissa Data Quality Suite?

MD has lots of different API options for getting just the coverage you need. And they manage to do a pretty good job of pulling data from a lot of different sources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Melissa Data Quality Suite?

* Customer service is maybe worse than Comcast. It took me a month initially to figure out how to give them money - the sales rep just wouldn't call me back, no matter what I tried.

* They've got weird data holes. Sometimes one of their services will recognize an address and return an address key - while another one won't recognize that address key at all. In addition, about 5-10% of the time, the address will be a real, real-world address, and MD won't recognize it.

* Their Property service won't recognize addresses - only address keys. Which means that you have to do a separate lookup on a different service to get the address key, and only then do a lookup on their Property service. That's kinda nutty - it makes it more complicated to pick the right mix of services you need, and also makes it slower to do your lookups, since you have to do two of them.
