Maverick Agency Reviews & Provider Details

Maverick Agency is a branding and marketing agency headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Founded in 2013, it provides brand strategy, brand development, market research, website design, and integrated marketing communications to organizations across Canada and the United States. Services span four practice areas. Research: audience research, consumer behaviour studies, brand perception measurement, customer and employee satisfaction research, competitive analysis, product and concept testing, and creative testing. Branding: brand strategy, brand identity audits, positioning frameworks, brand architecture, naming, messaging platforms, visual identity systems, sub-brand identity, logo and symbol design, packaging design, and brand guidelines. Maverick handles both new brand development and rebranding for established organizations. Websites: corporate websites, landing pages, microsites, e-commerce, and interactive experiences, delivered through sitemap and wireframe planning, UX design, accessible design, and development. Marketing: marketing strategy, creative development, digital advertising, content marketing, email marketing, events, traditional advertising, graphic design, video production, and photography. Engagements follow a four-phase methodology: Discover, a structured insight acquisition phase; Define, strategy development informed by market research; Design, creative execution; and Deploy, tactical rollout and measurement. Organizations typically engage Maverick during a rebrand or brand refresh, at the launch of a new product or sub-brand, when entering a new market or category, following a merger or organizational restructuring, when a website no longer reflects the brand, or when internal and external perceptions of the brand have diverged. Industry experience includes beverage alcohol and spirits, food and consumer packaged goods, pet food, energy and energy services, financial services and fund administration, arts and culture, nonprofit and health, sports and entertainment, and workforce development. Clients have included Molson Coors, Beam Suntory, RBC, HelloFresh, Chefs Plate, Energy Safety Canada, Careers in Energy, Glenbow, Eau Claire Distillery, Invico, Darford, CodeJoy, and Platform Calgary. Maverick has also developed brand and campaign work for entertainment and personal IP brands including Stan Lee, Shaquille O'Neal, and Hulk Hogan. Stampede Canadian Rye Whisky, developed for Eau Claire Distillery in partnership with the Calgary Stampede, took Gold at the 2023 SIP Awards for both taste and packaging design. Maverick's scope covered brand strategy, visual identity, packaging design, brand video and photography, landing page design and development, and on-premise and off-premise marketing collateral. Maverick works as an extension of in-house marketing teams rather than as a project vendor, and structures engagements as defined-scope projects and ongoing retainers.
