When something happens — a group policy change, an account lockout, privilege escalation — I can pull a report and actually understand the full picture without having to chase down logs manually. The reports are detailed enough to satisfy auditors but still readable enough that I can hand them to a manager who doesn't live in the weeds with me. That balance is harder to find than you'd think. It's saved me a lot of time during compliance reviews and internal investigations. **What do you dislike about ManageEngine ADAudit Plus?** The pricing and licensing structure has always felt more complicated than it needs to be. It's not always obvious what's included in your tier versus what requires an upgrade, and that can make budget conversations with management a bit awkward. File server auditing and Active Directory backup are both very useful features as well. **What do you dislike about ManageEngine ADAudit Plus?** While the number of reporting options is appreciated, it can sometimes be overwhelming to find a report if you don't already know its location or what you're looking for. Thankfully, there is a search feature that works well to mitigate this minor issue. There are only three alert levels: attention, trouble, and critical. This could be an indicator of something malicious going on, or serves as a useful tool for being notified when changes are being made on the network. It has helped us troubleshoot login issues as well where users were being locked out of their accounts for unknown reasons. The file auditing is helpful as well and it's allowed us to determine who deleted or moved files be it accidental or otherwise. It can even audit your GPO for any changes. If your company faces audits, the reporting makes it easy to export the necessary reports without having to do too much work yourself. Previously, we had an entirely separate file auditing program and with ADAudit we were able to get rid of that program entirely and use the built-in one with AD Audit ### 14. It is very hard to get them when you need them and they very rarely call back when it works for you schedule to work on an issue. If need to work on issues after-hours it is even more painful. **Recommendations to others considering ManageEngine ADAudit Plus:** Definitely buy this if you run active directory and want a great way to automate tasks, audit objects in AD and receive instant notification of changes to key objects in AD. **What problems is ManageEngine ADAudit Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Monitoring for changes to AD groups, key users, group policies and various other AD objects. You can find all sorts of information on your Active Directory environment just by digging through the canned reports and playing with the filters. **What do you dislike about ManageEngine ADAudit Plus?** I dislike how difficult it is to upgrade the product. There's this weird Java updater package that you have to run, and 9 times out of 10, the upgrade just doesn't happen. I wish ManageEngine would make the upgrade process simpler. **Recommendations to others considering ManageEngine ADAudit Plus:** Make sure that you take a snapshot of the VM running ADAudit Plus before doing an upgrade. If you just need to have a centralized access and management of your Active Directory, give a look in ADManager from ManageEngine too. Otherwise its very good. We have very few complaints. **What problems is ManageEngine ADAudit Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before using this tool we were not able to accurately tell when users were logging into the network and what changes they were making to files. This solved that issue.
