What do you like best about MAMP?

What I like the best about MAMP is the convenience of the application. Setting up a local PHP/MySQL test server with a WordPress installation is a breeze. Working with MAMP on my Mac for building websites locally saves me time to get started with the building side of development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MAMP?

My main complaint has to do with the free version of the application vs the Pro version. The free version puts all of the projects under a single localhost domain which can get messier when dealing with multiple test installs. I highly recommend upgrading the Pro version so you can isolate your client/projects and have more flexibility when using the application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MAMP solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use MAMP from the start of a web project so I can play with ideas locally without needing a domain or hosting package. I also use it to test new features on existing sites. I download a current backup of the site and can migrate it to MAMP and test things to see how they'll work without jeopardizing my live site. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
