For an econ data research platform, the most differentiating thing about macrobond is the well built out visualization / charting capabilities. You can very easily explore any data and perform analysis right there on the platform, no need to download the data and then use your own tools. They also have tagged data concepts well so if you find a piece of data in one country you can very easily find comparables in another country. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Only downside of Macrobond that I've found is the bitemporal data doesn't go back as far as I had hoped. They only started collecting bitemporal data in 2018 or so, and have worked to backfill data, but it's not totally robust going back to the start of the data. As a daily user of Macrobond, I find its core feature—the auto-updated graphs—to be incredibly valuable. The ability to create a relevant diagram and then watch it update automatically every day, month, quarter, or year is simply fantastic and saves a tremendous amount of time.

Additionally, integrating Macrobond with the Office 365-package is straightforward once you know the correct format for pasting. Implementing it into my existing workflow was also seamless, thanks to the high-value features the service offers.

I would appreciate having more customized color options. Currently, you can have 8 different graph colors pre-set in your style sheet. I would like to build my own palette with various shades of the same base color. While I can do this manually, having this feature would save me even more time in my work. full automation... once an econometric model is done, its done. embedded into a chart. Next month comes with 1 more data point? No worries, no need to waste a few hours doing another model, just "right click, refresh" chart.

one stop shop from data exploration to collection to transformation to analytics to charting to integration into Microsoft suite.... no more jumping across a few platforms.

On the shoulders of giants: always amazing to see the analyses/charting done by professionals in the community and audit through their methodology with complete transparency.

I seriously, really, cannot think of anything. Perhaps, if forced to, a wishlist ==> that Macrobond comes up with an "AI function" that allows me to type a prompt such as "come up with a chart using the Principle Components Analysis function over commonly used independent variables of inflation to estimate the future of US inflation rate" and magically, a chart appears. A little complex to use at times with several layers of functions to go through. Sometimes, if you layer on several functions and encounter issues with the final output, you have to troubleshoot step by step. Macrobond allows you to seamlessly display and analyze data from national and international sources seamlessly and easily. It's great at changing from geographies, and as you learn to use it, it becomes really logical and intuitive.

Making mathematical and statistical transformations is really easy, you can integrate it with Bloomberg in seconds and then integrate all of the financial time series with Macrobond's databases.

The charts look great, and updating one's PPT's presentations with one click is really great.

Finally, it has a great customer support, always ready to add new data at one's requests, or to help with the software.
