Also best thing about Lycia Studio is it not heavy on my processor which makes it to crash less. **What do you dislike about LyciaStudio IDE?** Well, being honest LyciaStudio lacks a lot on the features and libraries that other IDEs like Visual Studio or IntelliJ provide, And hence I mentioned it is good for small to medium sized projects, And also the customization options are limited, even though I personally liked the IDE but I feel others might like some more customization features. **What problems is LyciaStudio IDE solving and how is that benefiting you?** The first problem it solved for me was feeling less distracted while coding, and the simple and clean environment helped me a lot, I personally used it for simple Java and C projects, which actually helped me build my foundations. ### 3. Since it used popular platforms as its base, using it is very easy and straightforward. If you know the limitations of a 4GL program, with Lycia they are completely gone, your 4GL program can be as fast and modern as any .net or java program out there. **What do you dislike about LyciaStudio IDE?** It would be great if they put the example code as a download. Good examples are long. Typing or copying and pasting the whole sourcode examples can be time consuming. **Recommendations to others considering LyciaStudio IDE:** Download the software and ask for a trial license. The Trial license is unlimited, you can feel the complete power of the tool from the very beginning and support from Querix is so great. Lycia has a real VISION on the future of Informix 4GL language. I understood than many good surprises are on their way. **What problems is LyciaStudio IDE solving and how is that benefiting you?** Informix 4GL are text based applications. Although the language is very easy to understand and unexpensive on a application maintenance point of view, Lycia is the best compromise to save tens of years of applications fully matching customers requirement from decommissioning, and really give a new life to them. The very aggressive pricing for the development IDE as well as for the runtime licenses leaves budget money free to concentrate on enriching the application and use today's or tomorrow's technologies, leaving no room to doubt about going Lycia or not. ### 14.
