high availability of storage in cloud native ecosystem within the kubernetes cluster

  ### 2. Pretty Awesome

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sahil . | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2023

**What do you like best about SUSE Storage?**

it provides you with the ability to secure, provision and back up your storage across Kubernetes cluster

Some of the the benefits of Longhorn include:

Enterprise-grade distributed block storage with no single point of failure
Incremental snapshot of block storage
Backup to secondary storage (NFS or S3-compatible object storage) built on efficient change block detection
Recurring snapshots and backups
Automated, non-disruptive upgrades

**What do you dislike about SUSE Storage?**

I would like to say that the day we started implementing this the did not face even a single issue. Hence for me and my project, I can say no dislike for the Longhorn till now.
However I have two dislike points:

High Configuration System Requirement: To ensure smooth and efficient operation of the process, it is essential to have a system with a high level of configuration. This includes having sufficient processing power, memory, and storage capacity that can handle the demands of the process without experiencing performance bottlenecks or slowdowns.

Impact of Recent Driver and Security Architecture Changes: It is important to note that recent significant changes in driver and security architecture may result in certain issues when using older devices. These changes, designed to enhance system performance and strengthen security measures, may not be fully compatible with outdated hardware or software. As a result, older devices may experience compatibility problems, decreased performance, or potential security vulnerabilities.

**What problems is SUSE Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Intuitive User Interface and User-Friendliness: Opt for a cloud service that boasts a simple and user-friendly interface, ensuring ease of use for individuals of varying technical expertise. This user-centric design approach simplifies interactions, enhancing user experience and reducing the learning curve.

Enhanced Security Measures: Prioritize a cloud solution that provides robust security features. This includes measures such as encryption of data at rest and in transit, strong authentication mechanisms like multi-factor authentication (MFA), and adherence to industry best practices and compliance standards. By implementing such measures, your data and resources remain protected against unauthorized access.

Powerful Search Capabilities: Seek a cloud service that offers advanced search capabilities with high accuracy. Efficient search functionality enables quick and accurate retrieval of desired information from large datasets, enhancing productivity and saving time.

Networking and Wireless Connectivity: Embrace the benefits of networking and wireless connectivity in the cloud. This technology allows for seamless and reliable connectivity between different devices and resources, facilitating easy access to cloud services. The increased availability and convenience of networking and wireless connectivity greatly enhance user experience and productivity.
