What I like best about KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training is how well it supports a risk-based, data-driven security awareness program rather than just one time training. We run quarterly phishing campaigns, and the platform makes it very easy to identify users who fail simulations and automatically enroll them in targeted clickers training.

The Security Awareness Proficiency Assessment (SAPA) and Cybersecurity Culture assessments are especially valuable to us because they give us clear visibility into our organizational and employee-level weakness. Instead of guessing where our gaps are in terms of security, we can see them measured and tracked over time.

What also really stands out is the ability to assign training each quarter based on actual user behavior and assessment results. Employees are trained on their specific weaknesses, which makes the training more effective and keeps engagement higher. The reporting dashboard also makes it easy to demonstrate progress and improve to leadership.

While knowbe4 offers excellent training and phishing simulations, a few areas could be improved which are the training modules feel a bit outdated, and certain content can seem repetitive for employees who go through multiple quarterly trainings.

The user interface and navigation can also be less intuitive at times, making it slightly tricky to find specific reports or historical campaign data especially for new admins.

They have changed the view of the dashboard to a more user friendly appearance. My favorite feature is the organizational risk score. It give a clear breakdown of what should be focused on in your phishing campaign. I think that Knowbe4 offers a great robust program that allows you to easily track how well employees handle phishing emails. I would like to see that maybe they add in a feature where we pay for managed services though them. I say this because it is very time consuming to set up campaigns. KnowBe4 continues to strengthen and improve its product offerings by building on a solid foundation. Many of the products it rolls out are either free or offered at minimal cost, helping to expand the training and awareness. While the training offerings have continued to evolve, the difficulties with delivering trainings effectively in a hybrid environment remain a cause frustration. This is not entirely KnowBe4's fault as Microsoft's disabling of Direct Mail Injection(DMI) limits functionality. However KnowBe4 continues exploring alternative solutions to mitigate these issues. KnowBe4 can provides ongoing, customizable phishing simulations that mimic real attacks. it also helps employees recognize and respond to phishing in a safe environment. Knowbe4 provides a wide variety of training materials (videos, games, quizzes, posters) in multiple languages. Providing material in multiple language is one of the very good feature for Global organizations. Phish Alert tool is very useful for employee's to report the suspicious email. Risk scoring and reporting options are best to visualize the current situation and what action need to take to improve the overall security maturity of organization. While the platform is generally intuitive, the admin portal could be improved by making navigation to the latest campaigns and key management features more streamlined and user-friendly. I use KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training to reduce risks from phishing and social engineering, and I find it really effective in reducing user-driven security incidents. I like that it helps automate security awareness programs across the organization and improves the security posture by fostering a security-first culture. The phishing templates are really close to real-world attack techniques, which is something I appreciate. I also value their broad, regularly updated content library. The contents can be customized by roles, risk levels, and departments, and the content is written in plain language, making it easy for users to understand. I really value the regular meetings with the CSM, the support team whenever I run into issues, and the overall ease of use of the platform. It’s very easy to set up and use, and it integrates smoothly with our pre-existing Microsoft infrastructure. There’s also a large range of features, including Phishing Simulations, Security Awareness Training, the Mod store for training content, Users & Group editing, and easy-to-access reports covering past, current, and upcoming training. We have training scheduled to go out every quarter, with automatic phishing simulations released every month. I log on to KB4 multiple times a week to monitor the training and phishing activity, and to pull reports when they’re needed for Board meetings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Two things I don’t like about KnowBe4 are related to phishing simulations and support. When running phishing simulations, I’m unable to filter by application. For example, we don’t use Google Docs, but I have to go in and exclude those templates individually instead of simply filtering out that app so they don’t appear in the simulations. Because of that, the simulations can become too obvious and get reported or ignored, unless I spend time going through thousands of results and excluding all the ones we don’t use.

The other issue is with support tickets. When you create a ticket, they ask for the “Requester Country.” I enter United Kingdom, but I still get assigned American support. That usually means we only manage about one email per day back and forth due to the time difference. You can ask the American support staff to transfer you, but that really should happen automatically based on the requester country, so it feels almost pointless to ask in the first place. I really like the wide range of topics available, which helps keep our team up to date with current and emerging security threats. The variety of content formats such as videos, interactive questions, games, and short series keeps users engaged and prevents the training from feeling repetitive. The amount of content available on the Platinum package is quite disappointing. For the amount you pay you dont get the value in content available for our organization. It should be a pay per content model as I presume alot of the content is in the diamond package which is unaffordable and doesnt make business sense. It also forces us to use th PAB button which we are not keen on using and has little to no integration with microsoft.
