## About Jam SQL Studio
Jam SQL Studio is a cross-platform desktop SQL IDE for developers, analysts, and DBAs who work across multiple database engines. A single native application runs on macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows (x64 and ARM64), and Linux, and connects to Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and SQLite with a consistent UI across all engines. The SQL editor offers schema-aware IntelliSense, signature help, and a command palette with object search. The results grid handles large datasets with streaming, filtering, cell expansion, JSON and XML viewers, and one-click export to CSV, JSON, Excel, and Markdown. Built-in charting turns query results into bar, line, pie, area, and scatter charts. Productivity features include schema compare and data compare with ALTER/CREATE/DROP sync scripts, execution plan visualization, a full object explorer, a table designer, saved sessions and snippets, and query history. DBA tooling covers a session browser, tablespace and filegroup managers, a performance dashboard, backup and restore, and security management. Jam SQL Studio is AI-native. A built-in chat panel reuses your existing Claude Code or Codex CLI subscription, so AI assistance costs nothing extra beyond the subscription you already pay for. A local MCP (Model Context Protocol) server also lets external AI coding assistants like Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex CLI, and GitHub Copilot safely query your databases under user-controlled policies, with token authentication and read-only defaults. Jam SQL Studio is free for personal use with no account required, and offers a paid Pro tier for teams. It is a modern alternative to DBeaver, DataGrip, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Azure Data Studio, TablePlus, Navicat, Toad, Oracle SQL Developer, and Aqua Data Studio

## Jam SQL Studio Reviews
  ### 1. The Only Truly Useful Linux SQL Client—Simple, Powerful, and Reliable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Craig G. | Senior Full Stack Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Jam SQL Studio?**

Its the only Linux sql client that is truly useful for me. It goes far beyond what is currently available. Its simple and easy to use and does not have bugs that cause me to close and reopen it like the other clients

**What do you dislike about Jam SQL Studio?**

The autocomplete needs some work. It's a bit too intrusive.

**What problems is Jam SQL Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Created a data driven web site that uses SQL Server. Was able to do all the work in Linux and post the change script to my web host. It allows a full stack developer like me to finally nail down the DB development properly while using desktop linux.
