Things will always go wrong, but I have complete trust in Instaclustr to fix problems with our Kafka cluster before they hurt us, I have this trust, because they have saved us in the past and I know they will keep doing so into the future. Easily one of the best infrastructure decisions we've made. **What do you dislike about Instaclustr Managed Kafka?** We've had a couple of issues hooking up Dynatrace (our monitoring tool). **What problems is Instaclustr Managed Kafka solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our entire platform is message-driven, we planned it this way and have built it from the ground up with Kafka as the backbone of our message delivery. It is a vital cog in our platform and we couldn't be happier with the result so far! ### 2. They do a great job with our clusters as we have not had serious issues with it that wasn't our own doing. We also heavily poll their metrics API for visibility on our end and it's all worked great. **What do you dislike about Instaclustr Managed Kafka?** None really - there's a small security risk in that we need to hand over IAM keys so they can perform things in our AWS account but that's something we can't work around. **What problems is Instaclustr Managed Kafka solving and how is that benefiting you?** Not spending engineering time to fix kafka issues. ### 3. Deep technical questions are answered without hassle, and communication is straightforward with them. There is a good level of trust to the Instaclustr team from the team I manage (technical consultants, architects). **What do you dislike about Instaclustr Managed Kafka?** Availability of the team is not always good - hard to work between CET and AEST timezones. Sense of urgency is sometimes lacking as they are not exposed to the end users / client. **What problems is Instaclustr Managed Kafka solving and how is that benefiting you?** Production environment is managed by Instaclustr. Despite the extra cost associated with this, reliability is improved by having a dedicated specialist team and customer confidence is improved. ### 6.
