There is often a pedigree that is practiced against inside sales reps.
Senior sales reps also tend to be greedy and many times try to act entitled for the accounts that inside sales reps manage successfully.

Inside sales is a must-go-through role in order to climb the ladder of a successful senior account executive/manager.
Inside sales reps should always feel entitled to the influence they have on the accounts they achieve breakthroughs in.
