"A great product if done right"

What do you like best?

The encompassing nature of Syteline along with the ability to modify to meet varying business needs. It is a complete package the lets one start simple and work towards almost an complexity that is required.

Also, where the product needs to go to the next level, there many modules available that integrate well or are specifically designed for Syteline.

What do you dislike?

If modifications are not done correctly; upgrading can become a difficult endeavor.

I believe some modules should be included at no extra cost within the Syteline product such as QC, employee portal, CC processing to name a few.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Seek out a reputable Channel Partner such as Godlan. They have years of experience to draw upon and can make the migration and implementation easier for a company to digest. As a company Godlan has help immensely as we move forward to the latest version of Syteline.

Take advantage of all and any training that is provided, especially the subscription service for Infor Campus and partner channel like Godlan. it will pay for itself in the long rung as a company cycles through associates.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Achieving and on time deliver of 95% or greater for critical product lines with the use of forecasting, planning and scheduling. Streamlining the job process along with material and inventory tracking to meet business needs throughout the year.

We will be expanding the use of the HR module to encompass all employee need this coming year.

"Multi-divisional company utilizing SyteLine to run our business"

What do you like best?

The software functions pretty well with very few problems. We utilize the software at five of our divisions and it is the primary business system handling all of our day-to-day business operations. We have very few add-on or bolt-on systems. SyteLine provides functionality to meet 90% of our business needs.

What do you dislike?

Support direct from Infor could improve. The implementation partners are very helpful in filling the gaps for support.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Carefully evaluate this solution as well as others. It functions well with minimal daily support vs other ERP systems. We manage almost 800 users with 2-3 support people run the software with 5 instances and over 20 databases. Overall, very good solution for the price.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We operate almost all of our business functions, except for ecommerce, consolidated financial reporting, and forecasting using Infor's SyteLine product. We have streamlined many business functions and have gained consistency and efficiency in manufacturing, processing customer orders, accounting, and supply chain operations.

"Syteline"

What do you like best?

The ease of personalizing / customizing Syteline throughout additional fields, navigational aids, heavily customized reports, and the ability to create our own forms and move legacy word and excel documents and processes into Syteline has been instrumental in streamlining our business processes.

What do you dislike?

It would be nice if more of the Syteline add-on products were made part of the core software instead of additional purchase and license fees.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Research, research, research. Whether it be Syteline partners, your customers or suppliers, you can't talk to enough people about their ERP system, how they use it, what type of internal/external support they have, and the pros/cons of their software. Most software can do just about anything for a price, just make sure you understand if it's done as part of core functionality, parameter settings, reporting, simple customization, heavy customization, third-party add-on software, etc.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use Syteline to run our entire business operations and have recently begun the process of intergrating Syteline with outside EDI software to launch new business opportunities with Tier I ERP automotive customers.

"Syteline has been instrumental in our ability to grow our business"

What do you like best?

With the ability to filter/query on just about any field and export the resulting data to Excel, empowers end users with ability to generate their own reports. Along with add on products like workbenches, most data and report needs can be handled without the need for IT support.

What do you dislike?

There are still some performance issues with "Home" screens.

Know your internal procedures prior to implementation.

After running MRP for many years, we are implementing Finite APS to better control production and scheduling and to reduce lead times. In department where the implementation has been completed, tremendous improvements in scheduling and a reduction of lead times has been accomplished.

"Syteline Application Administrator"

What do you like best?

The ability to customize the product to fit our business needs.

What do you dislike?

I dislike the License management process and continually having to renew my licenses each year. The process is painful and not as automated as I would like. I should be able to just request a license and Infor could provide me exactly what I need instead of having to fill out all of the modules and add-ons that we own.

The ever changing Report software is also costly to our business.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We run our complete business with Syteline and using many of the add-on modules. We run our day to day operations and continue to customize the product. We are always looking to add additional functionality to the system by replacing paper processes and integrating with other systems.

What do you like best?

It has a lot of feature standard for a wide variety of applications. Modifications are possible with out extreme cost or time delay.

What do you dislike?

We're a very small company so upgrades are a bit pricy for us.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Part number chage function would be great. This is a small thing in the grand scope of things, but to be able to change a part number instead of having to obsolite and make a new one would be veryu helpful for us. We're on version 8.02.11 so i think 9 has some features that we would be interested in eventually.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Manufacturing is better tracked in terms of inventory and cost. Distribution product inventory is very accurate and the forecast module has helped us lower inventory and improve on time delivery.

"A necessary headache "

What do you like best?

Interface improves with every new release, workbenches

What do you dislike?

navigation is clunky at best and frustrating at worst. requires way to many transactions

make sure you understand all your processes before you begin installation. You will need a VAR to help with installation and setup and they need to understand your business completly

"SyteLine is great, though we have concerns about its direction"

What do you like best?

Stability of SyteLine version 8.03.11, our current version; not many bells and whistles for users like Dynamics GP but it does the job well and seems to be a good fit.

What do you dislike?

Escalating annual cost - we could never pass along 6% increases in support costs each year. I am concerned that we are not receiving near the value for which we are paying. This is a major problem I will be addressing the next couple of weeks.

Make sure the future goals of your company aligns with the direction of Infor, especially with their emphasis on the cloud.

"Syteline 8"

What do you like best?

The filtering of database collections is extremely powerful allowing users to drill down access related records. Exporting to Excel allow for additional filtering..

What do you dislike?

Re-positioning of cursor location when closing child forms.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

We migrated from an earlier version of the product and the user interface was the biggest challenge for us to get used to. Once becoming familiar with the UI differences we easily made the connections with how things were really similar. The data is just presented in a different more usable way.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Being on a hosted system we have mitigated most all of the internal IT duties. Greatly reduced the risk of loss of data.

"Great software for supplying job travelers on floor"

What do you like best?

Well I use this software to keep up with the supply chain and send the job travelers to the manufacturing floor, it help to figure out the job on its own which it great and saves lot of time.

What do you dislike?

The interface of the software could have been much simpler

What do you like best?

It has a wide variety of features that allow a business to do many different things.

What do you dislike?

Quite a high learning curve, not the fastest application in terms of speed, is very pricey to use.

What do you like best?

Interface and ease of navigation from one level of detail to next.

What do you dislike?

The time it takes to communicate and resolve issues. It took from March to November to address issue to only find a custom was overlooked at upgrade time. This happens many times over.

"Syteline fits well for us as an automotive supplier"

What do you like best?

Ability to personalize. Access to data outside of the Syteline interface allows for easy integration with other systems.

What do you dislike?

We had some licensing issues crop up years after purchase. It was a money grab by Infor because everyone knew how we intended to purchase the software when we bought it. Also not happy with abandonment of Crystal Reports.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

This is very good software. Make sure your licensing specifically includes your intended use - number of entities, users, etc.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Reduced administrative staff significantly. More timely information available. Flag problems before it's too late. Reduced closing time. Better scheduling and material ordering.

"Decent ERP System"

What do you like best?

Very solid system. Highly integrated Version 9. Can be used to move a company forward with connected modules.

What do you dislike?

Cumbersome to set-up. Reporting isn't intuitive. Your understanding of finite vs infinite needs to be spot on before you convert, else the process to straighten out is lengthy.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Understand your mapping completely prior to conversion. Spend the money to have a consultant review your processes with you and plan, plan, plan.

The more the business is all under 1 system the better, that is happening as the years go by.

What do you dislike?

How Syteline is touted as a manufacturing system, when at least years ago it was not. We have customized our Symix version almost every day since then.

Make sure it does what it is said to do. How easy is it to customize to their companies requirements?

"An improved CRM experience with ICI"

What do you like best?

I appreciate the seemingly never-ending options and ways to utilize this program to keep our entire company organized. No more multi-system functioning. It's all here, linked and organized under one extremely informative umbrella.

What do you dislike?

There are occasions where certain reports take too long to load, or it is difficult to see the information when it shouldn't.

This is extremely useful for running up-to-date reports and providing live information to our entire company so we can all be on the same page.

What do you like best?

SyteLine provides the ability to customize the solution to your needs and solve dynamic business challenges in real time.

What do you dislike?

Form customization is not as user friendly as it could be. The form scripts, event handlers, etc. have the opportunity to have the most common features users would need be much more plug and play.

"Glitchy"

What do you like best?

After the initial learning process, Syteline has been easy to work in. There are some glitches and that gets a little irritating, but for the most part, I enjoy working in Syteline.

What do you dislike?

It was a little complicated to learn. It can be very glitchy and that is extremely frustrating when trying to accomplish a task.

I use Syteline to enter orders we receive as a company. It has a place for all necessary information and makes it easy to look orders up in the future.

What do you like best?

Great manufacturing package. The integration between production jobs, customer orders, purchasing and gl is solid and traceable. Advances planing and scheduling is a great tool.

What do you dislike?

Reporting in Syteline is week. The stock reports aren't designed to download to excel nicely formatted

"Positive Experience - Syteline"

What do you like best?

I like the ability to filter on every field within the database. I also like the ease of use in navigating within the dashboard.

What do you dislike?

I dislike some of the restrictions within the report writing tools.

We are utilizing Syteline in all phases from quoting to shipping and for every function in between. The benefit for us in using Syteline is that the entire organization is on that platform.

I like how simple the software is to use. I deal with inventory management and this keeps very close track of where parts for our boats go throughout the factory from start to finish

What do you like best?

Gives flexibility to run all parts of your business from CRM, Inventory, Shop floor, Purchasing, Order Entry with all integrated financials.

What do you dislike?

Complexity of implementation can be a challenge when having multiple locations.

Easy configuration of products. Has given complete visibility across all locations of inventory, backlog, cost of sales and profitability of different product lines.
