## Ignite Realtime Spark Reviews
  ### 1. Ignite Realtime Spark kept us connected.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark M. | Head Western Trainer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

Great instant messaging service that kept the buying team on the same page with a thread of communication that could be referenced later and reviewed if necessary

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

Did not have any complaints about Ignite Realtime Spark

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It brought a team of individuals with differing practices in time management onto a platform to communicate as they went through the day. It really helped spot opportunities with products that others could submit on Spark.

  ### 2. Great platform, slightly out of date interface

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katie S. | Customer Experience Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

It's really intuitive and easy to use, transparency of users/roles is easy to view and categorize. It's used at an organization where staff are both in the room and remote so it's easy to coordinate amongst ourselves.

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

There's room for improvement on the design of the tool - the emojis are also extremely dated, it would be nice to have a wider variety - not a huge impact on usability, but it would be more fun!

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working in a room that's extremely busy with calls and where staff isn't always available, it makes communication very easy to navigate, especially when teamwork is required on a call.

  ### 3. Does the Basics with Some Flaws

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

Love the ability to see who is online and available, as well as the ability to mark myself busy, unavailable, etc. A convenient application to use when working remotely. The file transfer option works very smoothly within the application and makes it easy to quickly send documents and other files.

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

I have experienced a lot of glitches with Spark. Often I will connect with a coworker and upon signing in the next day, they will show as pending, when we were able to converse the prior day. Other times, a single contact will show up 10x or more in the list of contacts which makes it super frustrating. Usually a force quit and restart will clear the issue.

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most notable is the ability to instantly connect with a coworker when working remotely. Additionally, the file transfer is quick and easy which can oftentimes be faster than emailing a document or file.

  ### 4. Ignite Realtime Spark keeps teams in touch

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

Ignite Realtime Spark quickly shows who is online with the application and who is not (out of those in your group). Bouncing ideas off each other is quick and easy. Great IM for office use.

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

Available Plugins not showing any options. Plugins always help with what the original developer may have left out. They extend usefulness current functionality of the application.

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly connect with team members, no matter where they are located.

  ### 5. Best IM for internal office communications

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prabhjith S. | Talent Acquisition Specialist, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

Its a simple chat application which can be used for internal communication in office. We can easily connect with our colleagues in office and discuss about the issues instantly over messages. The best thing is that we can create a private conference room for our team and set a password for the conference. Its user friendly and easy to use. It also has bookmark feature which can instantly take you the saved pages in browser. We can also store the conversation history so that important messages can be accessed back easily.

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

It doesn't have much emoji and font styles. It would be better if they could add some more emoji and font styles to it.

**Recommendations to others considering Ignite Realtime Spark:**

Its a best IM tool for internal communication. I suggest the mid level to higher companies to try it once so that it can get you the productive results.

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its very helpful to communicate to internal employee over Spark. We can easily create the private conference room and do the brainstorming with our colleagues. We can buzz the user instantly, if we have something important task to assign to him. Its a time saving tool as we can communicate any one internally rather can going and meeting them face to face. Its very useful tool which saves lot of time and gets productive output for the companies

  ### 6. Great chat program for employee communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edward W. | Associate , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

With Spark, you can categorize your colleagues based on position or department. There is also a chatroom function that you can utilize for different groups of employees or for temporary projects so that all members are in one chat room. There are also a limited set of emojis. You can customize the layout and color scheme as well. Lastly, there is a function which allows you to grab someone's attention by causing the chat window to go to the top and "shake" the screen.

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

Although you can customize the layout and design, it still looks like something from Windows 2000. A video chat function would be a great addition as well.

**Recommendations to others considering Ignite Realtime Spark:**

This is a great cost effective solution for inter-office communication.

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This allows for the communication among employees in the same office and those employees working remotely or at different locations. You can communicate realtime to address issues while on the phone with a client. This is a great product for inter-office communication.

  ### 8. Great internal IM tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David S. | IT Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

This product is totally free! Spark integrates very well with your AD and makes logging very easy. Our company uses this as our sole IM application. There are some useful add-ons that allow you to do some auditing too.

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

Not much to dislike about this application. Maybe the rollout of updates. Again, this is freeware so not a big issue.

**Recommendations to others considering Ignite Realtime Spark:**

Go for it! It is a fun project that is easily managed.

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our employees can message each other without having WAN access. This is hosted on our server and only allows access to active users. This makes contacting other employees easy. Desktop notifications are easier to see and respond to than traditional e-mail.

  ### 9. Spark is an awesome IM client app which brings fun and innovation into the business world.

  ### 12. To spark or not to spark.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Devon K. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

I have been using Spark for over 6 years now and as a company chat platform it is not that bad. I like that you can easily set it up and log into it. I like that you can create team chats with security passwords. Instant messaging is a breeze and group chats are easy to navigate. You also have the option to change your nick name if the name on the server is not what you want to use. The random color feature is also very helpful when you are in group chats. Using this feature allows you to distinguish between multiple users. You also have the option to pull the data logs from any chat and save them as a PDF. Finally the search feature is phenomenal. With a database of over 3 thousand employees the search feature allows me to instantly locate someone by the first, last, or user name.

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

I dislike the new update that removed the option to log off of spark. You are on it, or you have to exit. When you exit this does not end it in your processes and can cause conflict when you try to open another instance. I do not like that everyone has access to the buzz feature. This feature sends a high pitched noise directly to you which can be very distracting. I do not like the image/file sharing feature as it can take up to 20 minutes to transfer an image or file. The last issue I have with Spark is ghost messaging. If you send a message to someone and close that box it will randomly appear for no reason. I have heard they are working to resolve this with the newest update. Lastly I dislike the font and text options as they are very limited and do not allow much freedom in creativity.

**Recommendations to others considering Ignite Realtime Spark:**

Spark is a great messaging platform. From install to use it is fairly simple. If you are a large company looking to connect your employees, or a small company trying to stay connected Spark is the software for you. Although spark does not preform other tasks like calendar, forms, or discussions it is a grade A messenger software. They are constantly coming out with updates and working to resolve as many bugs as they can. They also have a great customer service department that is dedicated to helping you resolve your issues as quickly and easily as possible. If your issue can not be resolved there are also a plethora of websites and renounce information on Ignite Spark that can help guide you in the right direction. I have personally been using Spark for many years and would recommend this software to any company as a messenger based tool.

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Spark allows a large company of over 3 thousand employees communicate in live time. You can create separate team chats, or separate training rooms. This messaging system is by far better than many competitors but it still has some kinks that need to be worked out. We have used Spark for training purposes, as well as team chat demonstrations. Spark allows you to see everyone that is online at all times so you are only a keystroke away from anyone.

  ### 13. It's a chat platform

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon M. | Database Administrator II, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2018

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

If you are looking for a basic chat communication platform, then spark is a good choice. Easy communication with people in your contact list.

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

You cannot search a directory to add users, you have to know their username (which in our case is their network name) and then add them, and they will accept. There are no other added benefits other than chatting. They do have a file-share feature but it fails a lot.

**Recommendations to others considering Ignite Realtime Spark:**

With other messenger apps on the market, Spark is falling behind and needs some redesign to get back into the corporate game.

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Spark allows a large company of over 3 thousand employees communicate in live time. You can create separate team chats, or separate training rooms. Spark allows you to see everyone that is online at all times so you are only a keystroke away from anyone.

  ### 14. Basic chat client, needs updated features!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sheila C. | Senior Lead Trainer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

It's a very simple chat client that gets the job done (most of the time)

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

It needs new features to make it more user friendly, such as:
the ability to disable comments in a chat room for a period of time
the ability to invite people to a chat room (this feature stopped working after the last update)
the ability to choose the color for your name

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our agents have issues with some features being disabled with certain versions. For example, they were unable to log out from the menu and instead had to stop the program in control panel.

  ### 15. Good Solid Messaging System

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Business Supplies and Equipment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

I love the ability to join rooms and direct message people inside of our company. I like how we can customize our presence so that features that annoy us can be turned off. I also like the ability to request attention or 'shake' which brings your chat to the front of someone's screen.

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

The rooms limits are too low. We can have a max of 25 per room and sometimes we just need more than that. It is also difficult to reset. If you close the window you have to close the program in the windows manager to reopen the application to furthur use.

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a call center and having a way to direct message others is vital if someone is on the phone when we need them.

  ### 16. Safe instant messaging program.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Environmental Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

I like that I can send group messages. You can select multiple people and send the message out to everyone. It also keeps conversation history if you select to.

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

I don't like that the app doesn't allow you to send broadcast messages. In the app you have to select each person. Also there is a delay. Sometimes you don't get the message unless you log out the program and then log back in.

**Recommendations to others considering Ignite Realtime Spark:**

Keep working out the glitches and send updates please.

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to quickly get a message out company wide without having to clog our email servers by sending a mass email out.

  ### 17. User friendly and efficient

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

Using this is very easy for someone like me who doesn’t have a great understanding of technology

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

It would be nice to have a voice memo feature for longer messages

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this for team communication

  ### 18. Great IM system for work

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael C. | Account Executive - Strategic Partners, Building Materials, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2016

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

Spark reminds me of my good old days of using AOL instant messaging. You have the ability to customize your "workspace" to match your personality. You can group your contacts in anyway you deem necessary. Another great feature is the developers. It is very easy to suggest and issue or a fix or a new feature and actually receive a feeling like your input counts. They have also made some pretty big strides to increase their security for your business recently. The language support they offer is simply amazing. I truly enjoy being able to type in English and translate it into many other languages.

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

My largest dislike to this is that there is not a matching App. In today's day and age to not have an app is pretty bad. I am a constant traveler at work and find myself away from my desk often. I hate returning to several sparks some of them more pressing than others. Yes I know I should set myself as away but most of the time I plan on only being gone for a few minutes and that turns into a longer period of time due to the nature of my job.

**Recommendations to others considering Ignite Realtime Spark:**

Try it out. There truly is nothing to lose with this product.

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the largest problems many companies face is excessive emails. Spark has allowed for us to message each other these little things instead of emailing each other over and over again when a phone call is not possible. Another great thing is the urgency that comes with an instant message. An email may be ignored or pushed off but the spark will get answered quicker.

  ### 19. Perfect to get quick answers in the office.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Travis W. | Account Executive, Building Materials, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2016

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

I like that I can quickly instant message any of my co workers to ask a question if I have any. If beats trying to call or walk around to see if they are at their desk. It has a simple and easy interface. The messages are all kept in a nice window and if you are messaging multiple people at a time, it keeps them in tabs so it is easier to switch back and forth between all of them. This makes the amount of windows that you need to have open to two for the entire program.

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

The customization is something that is left to be desired. I understand that it is a professional communication tool, but I would like to at least customize the colors and feel to make it unique to my own. Adding people can be somewhat tricky, it always wants to make a new group.

**Recommendations to others considering Ignite Realtime Spark:**

This is a basic workplace IM system. If you are looking for something that does the job without the frills then this is what you need. You won't be disappointed but you also will not be blown away.

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work in an office with about 15 people. We all work in our own separate areas and this lets us all communicate much easier. It is nice not to have to constantly call or run around trying to find someone. It gives the customers that call in quick and accurate answers if you do not know them. You can get the answer while still on the phone with the customer.

  ### 20. The Spark you need for your help desk

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2016

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

Spark is fast, user friendly, not cluttered with things you don't need and very stable. Spark works very well with Openfire's plugins to provide more tools for your business and agent needs.

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

The user interface itself could use a bit of a modern look. It would also be nice to have a few more preferences to change to make it a bit more customized.

**Recommendations to others considering Ignite Realtime Spark:**

Try it out and see if you like it. Its a free xmpp client that works very well and isn't too complicated to get set up and running right away.

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Don't really solve problems. I mean, Spark is great for communication through our company. We can talk to anyone we need to and even get notifications through our internal tools via Spark so that's very handy.

  ### 21. Excellent way of communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2016

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

Spark is great in my line of work because our employees and myself are able to communicate without having a guest hear us. The interface is friendly and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

In my opinion, using Spark is the best! However, there is something that kind of bothers me. It is the ring the bell feature. What this basically does, it allows other users to bring up spark in any of your windows if you are using it, as to get your attention. This has been annoying when trying to get work done and people are using it to bug me and not work related. This,

**Recommendations to others considering Ignite Realtime Spark:**

Get it!

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By utilizing Spark, we are able to allow our front of house staff communicate with our back of house staff without any of our clients able to hear us. This is useful when trying to assist many clients at a time since the front of house agents don't have to run to the back and notify the back of house staff.

  ### 22. Daily office use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Wholesale | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2016

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

The amount of chat tabs one can use without taking up much desktop space

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

some of the people in our group do not receive 100% of the sparks sent out

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can make sure accountability by looking at the logs and seeing what employees have stated they were going to take care of in the past vs what is actually done

  ### 23. Excellent basic chat program for the workplace

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Defense & Space | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2016

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

Spark is very simple to use and allows for individual and group messaging in one program

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

A white board feature would be useful for communication

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping employees in 4 different offices connected and informed of daily happenings.

  ### 24. Simple and efficient

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor B. | Analista de sistemas, Government Administration, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2016

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

It is fast and simple. Plugins are good too.

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

Would be awesome if it had a mobile app.

**Recommendations to others considering Ignite Realtime Spark:**

It is fast and light.

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communication.

  ### 25. Spark IM for business!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andy F. | Content Engineer, E-Learning, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2015

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

Spark is pretty great for connecting multiple IM platforms together. It's pretty intuitive on how to aggregate them all and sign in. Seems pretty secure and hey, it's pretty darn free.

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

Because it's so basic and free, it's not going to give you the full suite of communication for a business. Pretty much IM and thats that.

**What problems is Ignite Realtime Spark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It can be used for small to mid sized businesses for a good price ($$) and can allow companies to inter communicate. In the digital era where younger people don't like to talk face to face, this can be huge.

  ### 26. Enterprise-wide instant messaging, open source style

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eugene C. | Partner, Venture Capital & Private Equity, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2012

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

This is a great alternative to all the various IM platforms to establish an internal corporate IM network
Spark IM is also known for its esp. strong security, along with support for telephony and group chat

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

great for internal communications but you should also check out trillian to connect to multiple im services (external)

**Recommendations to others considering Ignite Realtime Spark:**

Be sure to check out the plugins for Spark IM -- including the translator (in case you need to translate languages from other users! -- this pulls in Google translate. Other plugins are also available / being developed,as this is opensource software -- and free!

  ### 27. Very basic but useful IM Client

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rusty P. | Senior Director of Global Operations and Quality, Medical Devices, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2012

**What do you like best about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

We use this IM client in conjunction with OpenFire, which i reviewed earlier. It has become a very powerful tool within our organization worldwide. Although it isn't spectacular, it is very easy to use, has a very small footprint & just works. There are a lot of add-ons you can get for filtering, archiving etc, but out of the box this will take the place of internal users having AIM or other public tools installed.

**What do you dislike about Ignite Realtime Spark?**

Nothing that I can think of

**Recommendations to others considering Ignite Realtime Spark:**

It's free, just try it out.
