I can quickly record keystrokes and my voice for a training video. Ice cream is quick to learn and easy to use. And the price is reasonable too. I wish there were a way to change the color or shape of the pointer outliner. The editing is a bit limited,I wish you could do a bit more than just trim. It is nice that the software gives a default name to files. It would be nice to have a way to create that default yourself. Have an add on that allows you to open a screenshot or video in a different application. It would be nice if there was a way to edit the audio of a video. Sometimes it's too soft and we have to go to another software to edit. Add a way to edit screenshots, in case we want to blur something, or crop it, or remove something from the screenshot. We usually bring these screenshots in to another software for editing. There are times I forget to rename the video to something that describes the video, so it's easier to find. This section is harder to fill out. This software is great, and could be even better with some additions. It's been stable, so I can't even write about it's stability. Recommendations to others considering Icecream Screen Recorder: If you want to make training videos, or need screenshots with not a lot of editing. Ice cream is a great product for you to use. It's easy to learn; you can be up and running very quickly. Our training department has found this software quite useful and it is one of our "go to" applications. If you want to make short training videos on how to do a process or show your staff how to do something, this is the software for you. When we want to do a training video of how to use a function in any software, it's a quick way to make a training video that is very helpful. A lot of times our training department is asked to show staff how to use a new function. We have a software system that is always being updated, so the ability to make training videos quickly is very helpful to us. We really like that we can add audio to the file. We haven't taken advantage of adding our webcam, as we all seem to be a bit camera shy. We have used Icecream to make videos for our newsletter or Yammer page. Those have been well received by staff. This software is a good software for someone who is not very technical to use. It's much easier to record and edit here, than a more complicated software like Premiere. During the day, I take many screenshots and videos, and do a lot of editing of both. Icecream is one of my "go to" applications. As we are a remote company, I can't just run to someone's office and show them how to do something. Videos kind of do that trick. It's great to have software I can trust to help me make these training videos. I have used some paid and some free screen recorder as Free Cam, KeepVid pro, Camtasia, Filmora Scrn, and OBS, I paid for KeepVid pro & Filmora, and for others, I use trial or a license from a friend. However, based on my experience Icecream Screen Recorder is good enough. You'll have all general features available to other recorders including annotating, webcam, webinars, etc. Like for Camtasia, you need to pay much but you will get top class editing as well. For OBS (new version) I have set up issue with my pc (Windows 7 without an external graphics card) I liked the annotating feature most and editing so far good enough. I like the user interface of icecream, which is light and easy to use, human-readable text which is easy to understand. The feature i like the most is recorder is on, and you can record your presentation with your cam recorder on which gives you the personalized touch to share all the features of the product to the prospecting clients.
