Still, it will depend on each company's monthly data volume to evaluate if this model will be more cost-effective for them or not. If you have a specific need or a particular source not in their current offering, get in touch with them anyway. They might add or fast-track your requirement if it is technically possible for them to do so in order to get you as a client. They did it for us. **What problems is Hevo Data solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have migrated all our existing pipelines to Hevo with great results, and it is now our official ELT tool. It saves us a lot of time compared to working with other solutions, offloading a lot of the engineering overhead required for hosting our own ELT tool. We have received a fantastic level of support in setting up pipelines for complex sources and solving general questions. We have also seen direct enhancements of the Hevo tool as a result of our requests, for example adding new functionalities to REST API for our specific needs and fixing API calls to external websites we are using. We have also saved considerably in operational costs compared to our previous solution. We are very pleased with Hevo, and even though we recognize there are a few areas that still need some work, we are confident that they will tackle them very soon as the tool is constantly improving. Additionally, if you envision L1, L2, L3 models for example to obtain the main objectives out of DIKW hierarchy, the data models option in Hevo is the way to go. You can actually, create, workflows, to ensure that there is no ambiguity in the end-end data delivery process. **What do you dislike about Hevo Data?** Nothing much really, the workbench has code formatting option now but lacks the ability in allowing the end user to save the code. What this means that is, even if you click by mistake on the back button, you might loose all the progress done. So, one needs to stay careful while using on the workbench. But, this isn't that great as an issue, since we can anyways use IDEs for code development and then may be use Hevo for the main objectives we have. **What problems is Hevo Data solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is slightlyan overhead to manage and setup BI in the organisation if the data is heavily nested (really complex nested data with json structure and arrays within the same and the nesting continues). So, aggregations weren't sufficient solution for us to solve the problem. Hevo really, helps us is to maintain near realtime data on the warehouse and process the nested data the way we want to without any ambiguity. To cut short, we can realise a perfect data pipeline to solve the business problem. ### 8. We've not only integrated dozens of data sources, but the process is so easy to replicate our business users can take advantage of its power. **What do you dislike about Hevo Data?** It can be hard to know how many objects you bring in on the first load. We've blown through our quota several times trying to get the data in from a new source into our DB. The default sync period is 15 minutes & when you have millions of objects... that adds up quickly! I have been running a very small team that at the same time had quite a few data sources to include in our ETL (mariadb, postresql, csv files, APIs, gads/msads/fbads). Our datalake/ load area was in Bigquery. Hevo has been very useful to easily set up pipelines between source and destination and keep this in sync. One still runs into various bugs and mistakes along the way, but we always ended up solving them quite quickly ourselves and/or with the help of Hevo support which answers pretty quickly. Very good value for money in my situation. **What do you dislike about Hevo Data?** Things to improve could be more detailed instructions for how to set up different pipelines and what to keep in mind in different scenarios. An example of this was the “hevo marked deleted “ column that we missed for some time to consider its implications. Implementing a change data capture feature would take them to the next level, but the existing product is excellent and priced comparably to the far inferior Stitch. Connectors are easy to set up, and almost all of them use OAuth2 to authenticate, rather than having to give the data team admin access to every marketing tool so that they can generate API tokens etc (cf. Airbyte). Overall, you're not going to find a cheaper tool that saves more time than this. You even get an interface to build custom connectors if Hevo are missing any, so there won't be any gaps. **What do you dislike about Hevo Data?** There are a few minor gripes with Hevo, but these don't detract from the product: 1. Rather than pricing on rows, the pricing is based on 'events', which include any updates to rows after their initial insert. This makes volume a lot harder to predict, and can lead to some nasty surprises if tables get updated regularly. However, Hevo are happy to give out free events if an unexpected glut of events happens, and historical loads are all free. 2. Destinations aren't very configurable. Usually, ETL tools are used to load data from a variety of sources into a single database, and ideally you'd put each source (e.g. AppsFlyer, Facebook Ads, Postgres RDS) in its own schema. In Hevo, each destination uses only one schema, so the only way you can do this is by configuring a new destination for each schema, copy-pasting the same DB credentials into the UI over and over again. This doesn't take that long, but is an unnecessary initial overhead. 3. There are a few sources we'd like to see that aren't currently represented: Snapchat, Pinterest, Chargebee. These integrations will hopefully come about soon, and in the meantime, Hevo provides an interface for setting up custom API connectors, so there are other ways of proceeding. **What problems is Hevo Data solving and how is that benefiting you?** We're migrating data from our application database into Redshift, as well as unifying all of our marketing data there via the connectors Hevo offers.
