But, while many of these tools focus on one particular aspect of the eLearning industry, Gurucan is a platform that is a one-stop-shop for pretty much all of the features you would need. The beauty of this is that it makes Gurucan one of the most affordable eLearning platforms that you could possibly find. The UI is great and you can tell the creators really care about the product. **What do you dislike about Gurucan?** There isn't too much I dislike about Gurucan but if I had to choose I would say they are still missing some of the big features that other, more expensive platforms have going for them. I think it's really important that they allow course creators to use Vimeo/Youtube for all videos except for when a user wants to download a video to their phone (so smart switching for bandwidth usage). An instructor dashboard is massively important for schools who want to host multiple courses from different instructors. Not being able to manage multiple schools from the same account is problematic in my opinion as well. **What problems is Gurucan solving and how is that benefiting you?** Gurucan is a one-stop-shop for course creation. But I also like it because it has so many other features like hosted webinars, email broadcasting and memberships. It also competes with Kajabi, but Kajabi is way more expensive and charges you more as you create more courses. Gurucan offers unlimited courses at the same price point. **What do you dislike about Gurucan?** Well, the website editor and the landing page editor can do the job, but they need to be more robust. Very responsive. What I love most is their flexibility of including and adding useful features into their development. This is something you don't see with the more "established" LMS systems. The user interface is extremely intuitive, well designed and you can choose a simple or custom design - meaning even design dummies can't be overwhelmed. Creating courses, challenges, articles and memberships that you can sell as bundles or sell as memberships (or both!) is a real breeze. You can tell that Gurucan was set up with the marketing in mind, and it has a great workflow to marketing your knowledge. This is what clearly lets it stand out above the competition who can be clunky with cluttered interfaces (and very intimidating to new users. They have done a great job and I am sure they will be successful with their site. **What do you dislike about Gurucan?** At the moment, uploads aren't going as quickly as they could, apparently due to servers not quite able to cope easily. But that is most likely temporary. I would love a VAT remittance option to make the financial side of Gurucan a breeze as well, but would happily also find a workaround if that would make Gurucan much less navigable. **What problems is Gurucan solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have been shying away from offering my online courses on an online platform because I found all the settings very intimidating, and you cannot build your school website when you constantly fear that you may have ticked the wrong box and made the wrong choices on some obscure subpage. Administration The administration page, payment setup, user app download are easy to use. Marketing It contains a market campaign module to promote your own courses within your own community. Course Design The course content can be many different types. It is easy to add videos from various sources to be part of the courses. You can also host your video on the website. Course Flow I had tested the course flow and content in both the website and mobile app; it works great! Mobile App The mobile apps are easy to use, and the layout is user-friendly. Other interesting kinds of stuff are the chat group, blogging, and article subscription. It gives us various ways to package our knowledge and promote it. **What do you dislike about Gurucan?** Only 2 things I think are missing. An easy-to-navigate content menu when the course consists of many lessons. For simple lessons, it is easy to manage. When the lesson is more than 40-50, it may be challenging to navigate the course. Another one is the product group within the same landing page. This is a learning platform for students from all levels and my use case is primarily for high school students. Very pleased that they offer both web and app versions of the platform as this was a major shortcoming I faced with my earlier LMS. I don't need white labelling of the app for my use case but good to know if business picks up then the option to white label is there along with support for the same. The web platform is modern, simplistic interface and helps students navigate easily. Making the course itself is easy. I noticed that there is a template to choose from but I started from scratch and the flow made sense and was easy. There is an inbuilt chat function for discussion. I will be using Continually as a VA. The need for a student discussion centre that is much more robust would be my immediate request to the team so that they don't have to leave the platform to a third party for this and it ensures the learning is richer. The inbuilt CRM has options for homework and chat. Yet to explore this fully but I am convinced there is a lot of potential to evolve this to accomodate the various discussion forums. No data yet on the analytics and of course no look at the certifications yet but I believe they are making auto certifications available later this month. Finally, I am glad that there is no limit on admins, authors or users. That is amazing, thank you! It is effortless and guided. The possibility of offering my students an app for android is very encouraging to me. I'm still testing its possibilities, but I'm pretty excited for now. **What do you dislike about Gurucan?** The user interface needs to be improved I also miss being able to embed videos from other providers in the cloud, not just Youtube, Vimeo, or Wistia. Everything is under one roof so I can reduce the number of products I bounce around to get 'er done. I can create a full course with video , quizzes, and manage billing, memberships and marketing. They support multiple languages already, and growing. I'm looking forward to finishing build of my first course and see how this is received. The support team has been very responsive and they are providing clarity on the road map. Bonus is the white label (additional monthly cost) so it will have my brand look and feel without my users feeling like they are being sent to another school. **What do you dislike about Gurucan?** The monthly cost for white label comes at a pretty price. This can be cost prohibitive but when you realize you wont need to develop this on your own, and Gurucan support will keep things running smooth when iOS or Android versions change, you'll see the benefits. I also was skeptical about it doing everything (7 tools in one). But I'll take that over the complexity of managing the disparate tools individually. **What problems is Gurucan solving and how is that benefiting you?** For me the big win here is I can focus on creating a quality course, which I'm doing. I'm old school and get tired of learning new tools (I didn't say things, which I love). But I have a workaround for that for more advanced quizzes using latex using HTML quizzes and integrations using third party products. 99% of people won't need what I need with regards to latex script.
