I am a huge fan od sketch which is a market leader but Gravit lets us get the same features without breaking the bank. Creating social media posts like facebook banners or instagram pictures have been made easy with Gravit designer's wide array of fonts and picture editing capabilities. They have both web versions and desktop versions, I use the desktop version. Gravit designer supports multiple file formats for importing and exporting files, it is one of the very few free tools that lets one edit scalable vector graphics. The software is bug free. **What do you dislike about Gravit Designer?** It does not have real time collaboration features, also the inbuilt icon packs can be improved and this software is closed source, so we don't know what has went behind the code. This app does not let us run our prototypes on a mobile phone unlike Gravit designer's competitors like Invision or Sketch. Also the fonts are loaded on the fly from the internet, so it needs an active internet connection to work. It is okay for basic vector work and line-pushing. **What do you dislike about Gravit Designer?** Full discolsure - I've been an Illustrator user until the Creative Cloud came out. My experience with gravit is that below the surface, it's just not a well made product. The user interface is a bit awkward but passable. When it comes to functionality, some basic and obvious things are missing - you can't join vertices from different splines even when said vertices overlap. The basic combine command awkwardly just groups the splines and does not alert you that vertices have not been joined, but if you check - they're not. I discovered some more glaring omissons of basic functionality, but the worst honestly is the performance. I would not use Gravit to edit anything more demanding than an Icon - even on a modern quad-core with sufficient RAM, the program slows down when loading even it's own file format, let alone PDFs. When it does load, panning is sluggish and it actually breaks often - the artboard just crashes and leaves shadows of your artwork as you pan around. Numerical input boxes have become non-responsive at times and you just never know when something is going to break and wheter you'll manage to recover your data. The program will corrupt it's own file format files at times. This is the main reason I've put away Gravit - i just can't handle the risk and furstration. **Recommendations to others considering Gravit Designer:** Consider spending on software in the 50,- USD range instead. Easy to learn. Affordable to use. Easy to integrate product with preexisting equipment. I run a Mac and it is very simple to take a product off and put into immediate use. How great is that? Simple and straightforward is all I need to create the designs I am actually using. Sometimes simple is better than complex. **What do you dislike about Gravit Designer?** There isn't anything I dislike as of yet. There isn't anything that I would change. The help page is immediate and easy to access. I use simple design programs to produce products and the last thing I need is too much program. This allows me to use the program and add to any image the possibilities I need in addition to what is available to me. Love this program. I wish I had invented it. I do not always have all the functions I would like on the program I use for work therefore the additional problem solving fonts and functions this offers is a big help in a comprehensive file for work. It allows me to include images that are directly applied and worked on for the design work I am pursuing. One thing that I can do is add icons and shapes I would not normally have access to. As such I can Frame easily. I work with a lot of custom monograms. I can download and add whole designs to my work. Yippee. ### 32. The development team is continuously fixing bugs and errors, it is truly fantastic. From my point of view, the best vector-based illustration tool I have found. It features an infinite canvas, an intuitive interface, and simple yet very useful tools. I believe that with this tool you can do the same as with Adobe Illustrator, and on top of that, it's free. The graphical user interface is very intuitive, with few levels of complexity where the basic tools have a very quick learning curve. The scope of the application is broad, including functions to support interaction design and visual design, for print and screen. It also has support for layers, pages, and smart objects. Your documents can have multiple pages, and you can view several at the same time. **What do you dislike about Gravit Designer?** I really find it hard to find any negative points about a program of these characteristics, with the development team behind it and being free, just to mention something, although as I said before it is increasingly polished, it still has some bugs and minor errors. **Recommendations to others considering Gravit Designer:** I recommend it for being powerful and free, and it also allows me to work online if you do not wish to install the desktop version. **What problems is Gravit Designer solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's the first time I've found a free program that handles the CMYK color model.
