Gratefully Reviews & Product Details

Gratefully is an AI donor intelligence platform built for nonprofit fundraising teams. It connects the donor records in your CRM with the emails, documents and staff notes that surround them, holds all of it in a private knowledge graph your organization owns, and hands your team a ranked daily plan of which donors need attention and why. The assistant inside Gratefully is named Grace. It is not a CRM and it does not replace one. It sits on top of the system you already run. WHO IT IS FOR Development directors, major gift officers, annual fund managers, executive directors and development operations staff at nonprofits, foundations, independent schools, faith-based organizations and higher education advancement teams. It is built for small and mid-sized shops where two or three people carry the entire donor file and there is no analyst to build the report. THE PROBLEM IT SOLVES Your CRM records what happened. It does not record what it meant. The conversation from last year's site visit, the email where a donor mentioned a family illness, the note a departing gift officer left about a planned giving conversation that was six months in: none of that lives in a database field, and most of it leaves when the person who wrote it leaves. The result is familiar. Donors go quiet and nobody notices until the renewal does not arrive. A new hire spends a quarter reconstructing relationships from scratch. A major gift conversation that was nearly closed is never picked back up because the only person who knew about it moved on. WHAT IT DOES Ask Grace. Ask questions about your donors in plain English and get an answer with the work attached. "Which mid-level donors who lapsed last year are showing fresh engagement" returns the list, the reason each person is on it, and a draft ready to review. No query builder, no export, no waiting on operations. Every answer cites the specific gifts, notes and emails it drew on, so you can check it before you act on it. Action Center. Grace works through your whole portfolio overnight and surfaces the handful of moves that matter that day, ranked by impact. Who has not been thanked. Who is drifting toward lapse. Who has moved far enough up the giving curve to warrant a larger ask. Each item arrives with a drafted next step waiting for a person to approve, edit or discard. Prebuilt segments. The segments a development team would build if it had time are already built and always current. Lapsed mid-level. First-time donors past their second gift window. Recurring donors whose card is about to fail. Long-tenure small donors who look like legacy prospects. Segmentation stops being a quarterly project. Donor Pulse. A living health score for every donor in the file, built from giving pattern, engagement and the relationship history in your own documents. It moves when the relationship moves, which is the point. A score that only updates at year end tells you what you already lost. Revenue Discovery. Grace continuously re-reads what you already hold and surfaces the money sitting in it. Matching gift eligibility that was never claimed. A pledge that was made and never invoiced. A donor whose capacity signals changed. Documented commitments that were never followed up. Handover dossiers. When a fundraiser resigns, every donor they carried gets a complete written handover in minutes: the relationship history, the open threads, what was promised, what comes next, each fact cited to the record it came from. A two-week notice period stops being a crisis. Drafting in your voice. Thank-you letters, check-ins, update emails, board summaries and donor briefings, written to match how your organization actually communicates rather than in generic AI register. Every draft carries inline citations to the note, gift or thread behind each claim. Board and portfolio reporting. Board-ready answers assembled in minutes rather than a week of spreadsheet work, with the narrative context that explains why the numbers moved and not just what they are. HOW IT WORKS Ingest. Your sources come in as they are. CRM records and gift history, email threads with donors, PDFs, shared documents, board minutes, staff notes, handover files. There is no migration and no data cleanup project first. Grace reads what already exists. Remember. Every fact lands in a knowledge graph scoped to your organization alone. Your graph never touches another nonprofit's data. Personal information is redacted before any model call. Facts carry a source, so nothing is asserted without something behind it. Notice. Grace works the portfolio every night. Stewardship gaps ranked by revenue at risk, cultivation moments tied to specific people, major gift signals with the evidence attached, recurring gift drift. The list is waiting when your team opens a laptop. Draft. Grace prepares the work. Voice matched to your past communications, citations inline, one click to regenerate with new context, and edits that teach it your style over time. Approve. Nothing leaves your organization without a person approving it. Grace prepares; your team owns the relationship and presses send. Every action is logged, roles control who can send what, and any workflow can be paused in one click. DATA HANDLING Nonprofit donor data carries obligations that generic AI tools were not designed around, so this is deliberate architecture rather than a policy promise. Your data never trains public AI models. Personal information is stripped before any content reaches a language model. Each organization's knowledge graph is isolated from every other. Numbers are calculated rather than generated, so donor totals are deterministic and auditable rather than a model's best guess. Every answer and every draft cites its source, which means a claim can always be checked against the underlying record. There is a full audit log of every action, and role-based controls over who can send what. If you leave, you export your knowledge graph in one click. WHAT IT WORKS WITH Native integrations with Bloomerang and Salesforce for Nonprofits. Gmail and Outlook donor threads. CSV import and direct document upload for PDFs, shared docs, board minutes and staff notes. Because ingestion is document-based as well as CRM-based, teams on other systems can run it against exports without a migration. TYPICAL USE CASES A development director inherits a portfolio. Instead of a quarter spent reading old files, they open a written dossier on each donor: history, open threads, what was promised, what was never followed up. A gift officer prepares for a meeting. Ten minutes before the call they ask what the organization knows about this donor and get the last three interactions, the causes they have mentioned caring about, the names that came up in a thank-you call, and the ask that was floated and never closed. A two-person shop cannot work its whole file. Grace ranks the file every night so the two people work the twenty relationships that actually move revenue this week, rather than whichever donor happens to email. Year-end approaches and nobody knows who is drifting. Donor Pulse flags the relationships cooling before the renewal window rather than after it, with a drafted re-engagement note attached to each. A board meeting is on Thursday. The quarterly report is assembled with narrative context in an afternoon rather than a week, and every figure traces back to a record. A development director resigns with two weeks notice. Their entire portfolio is documented before the last day, so the successor starts with relationships rather than a spreadsheet. Somebody asks whether staff can safely use AI on donor data. Personal information is redacted before any model call, the organization's graph is isolated, and there is an audit log of every action, so the answer to the board is a described architecture rather than a reassurance. SETUP Connect your CRM and point it at your existing files. Most organizations are running in under an hour. There is no migration, no records cleanup phase and no implementation project. PRICING Published, not quote-gated. $400 per month billed annually at $4,800 per year, or $500 per month billed monthly. Both plans include up to five team seats, unlimited document and CRM ingestion, natural language chat with cited answers, donor briefings, handover dossiers, daily intelligence, automated redaction of personal data at every step, and priority onboarding. Both include a four week free trial with no credit card required. Cancel any time and export your data. WHAT IT IS NOT It is not a CRM and will not replace Salesforce, Bloomerang or DonorPerfect. It is not a wealth screening tool: it does not append external wealth data or estimate capacity from public records, and teams often run a screening tool alongside it. It is not a fundraising or payment platform and does not process gifts. It is not an autonomous system that contacts donors on its own; a person approves everything that goes out. It is the layer that holds what your organization knows about its donors, keeps that knowledge when people leave, and tells your team what to do about it today.
