## Google Cloud Code Reviews
  ### 1. A great IDE coding plugin provided by Google cloud platform!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anish R. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Code?**

If you have worked on Google cloud platform(GCP), it is a bit difficult to manage codes, and infrastructure, and deploying together. Google cloud code brings the plugins for Cloud run and many other GCP features right in the IDE. The best thing is that you can use this in the Google Cloud Shell IDE, as well as your local IDEs such as Visual Studio Code, or IntelliJ, so you are not bound to the GCP as such.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Code?**

Right now the APIs provided are in language Java, NodeJS, and Python, which I agree are the most popular languages used, But I'd like to have more backend languages under the arsenal just for the ease of use.

**What problems is Google Cloud Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deploying code to Kubernetes and deploying to Google cloud run, or calling the Cloud AI features can be done using the simple API calls that they provide the examples for as well. It really saves a lot of process time as API calls can be made into a simple automated code that I can call to use these features.

  ### 2. Excellent platform for cloud development.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark P. | Creative, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Code?**

By using Google Cloud Code, I was able to access and manage my cloud resources directly from my development environment. This saves a considerable amount of time, as I don't need to switch platforms to perform tasks such as deploying applications or managing databases. One feature that really impressed me was the support for Kubernetes and the ability to develop, debug and deploy applications to a Kubernetes cluster with ease. The automatic configuration and templates provided for different programming languages are also a big plus, allowing developers to get started quickly without having to set everything up from scratch.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Code?**

Google Cloud Code offers a lot of functionality, it can be a bit overwhelming for someone unfamiliar with Google Cloud Platform or integrated development environments (IDEs). I also noticed that occasionally updates and new features can have bugs that take time to fix.

**What problems is Google Cloud Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Cloud Code facilitates collaboration in development teams, as everyone can work in a common and consistent environment. In addition, the ability to debug applications in real time and perform continuous deployments significantly improves the efficiency and quality of software development.

  ### 3. Gen-Z Coding using Google Cloud Code

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Code?**

One of the best thing is the integration part. It allows integration with VS Code which is one of the most used code editor IDE and make the use easy for beginners and is easy to implement as well. It offers hints and suggestions making us code faster, also making debugging easier. As we can integrate it with IDEs, it supports the local development and testing speeding up the process. Also, let's not forget the good documentation and a supportive cummunity to help us always whenever we are stuck.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Code?**

One of the most distasteful thing is that we need to learn quite a lot of stuff before using Google Cloud code, as there are lots of features which can overwhelme any beginner in cloud. As being a google product, it is not a big help while working with other cloud providers while using their services. Also, being dependent on google cloud, it might cause some slow performance issues for few users working on big projects or on low resources.

**What problems is Google Cloud Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While working with google cloud, it helps by providing templates for the configuration of resources saving our time and maing the configuration paart easy and easy to debug as well. It also increases the efficieny by providing code suggestions and live debugging.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Code?**

1. Coming from other cloud environments the sheer number of features can take longer to learn.
2. AI assistance can be better in code support.
3. Cloud code has good integration with GCP might not be better for other vendors.

**What problems is Google Cloud Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were using Cloud code for end to end development of java based cloud applications and containerizing them to improve availability and utilization of cloud resources. We used VS code option as it was familiar with the development teams. We were also using the app engine support and the code assist to accelerate the devlopment of the applications.

  ### 5. We use and integrate this google cloud code service within our infrastructure.

Seamless Integration: Google Cloud Code perfectly synchronizes with other services provided by GCP, making Google Cloud Code the only platform you might need for cloud-native development.
Intelligent Code Completion: Lastly, the intelligent code completion is a major fundamental for increasing development speed by exploring correct suggestions depending on context.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Code?**

While Google Cloud Code is generally excellent, there are a few areas where it could improve:

Limited Customization: Certainly, it is highly beneficial to get the list of features, but there can be certain restrictions in regard to customization to the certain type of work or personal convenience.
Dependency on Google Cloud Platform: That is why it is worth mentioning that getting used to Google Cloud Code might be challenging if you are heavily involved in other cloud platforms.

**What problems is Google Cloud Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Complex Development Environments: Google Cloud Code also helps in the configuration of development environments as well as adoption of the required environment by other developers in the team.
Time-Consuming Debugging: Integrated debugger assists the developers to debug problems easily within a short span of time.
Inefficient Code Management: code quality and collaboration are enhanced through the features offered by Google Cloud Code including version control code reviews and continuous integration.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Code?**

Google Cloud Code has been a fantastic addition to my development environment. It seamlessly integrates with my IDE (both Visual Studio Code and IntelliJ, although I use it with VS Code only), making it easy to develop, debug, and deploy cloud-native applications. The setup is quite straightforward, and it provides built-in templates for Kubernetes and Google Cloud Functions, which are incredibly helpful for getting started quickly.

One of the standout features is the live debugging support, which allows you to diagnose issues in your applications while they're running in Kubernetes. The Cloud Run integration also makes deploying serverless workloads a breeze. I love how Cloud Code manages my configurations and keeps everything organized, reducing the time I need to spend on setting up dev environments.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Code?**

However, I do find the documentation could be more detailed for some advanced use cases. It would be great if there were more examples on customizing workflows for complex projects.

**What problems is Google Cloud Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Cloud Code addresses the challenges of setting up cloud environments, managing Kubernetes deployments, and maintaining consistency between local and cloud setups, all of which can be complex and time-consuming. By integrating cloud capabilities directly into familiar IDEs like VS Code and IntelliJ, Cloud Code streamlines the development, debugging, and deployment processes, allowing me to focus more on coding rather than infrastructure management
