The scores received on these practice tests help me get an idea of the status of my preparation. The software itself was very easy to obtain off the GMAT website and to download and set up on my system as well. **What do you dislike about GMATPrep Software?** I use this software on Mac OS and it does seem to slow down my system quite significantly. I have experienced lag when submitting answers a fair few times which is distracting as well. **Recommendations to others considering GMATPrep Software:** Definitely, attempt as many practice tests as possible on this software before your GMAT. Very useful to get a feel of the test in advance. **What problems is GMATPrep Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** I like that I'm able to emulate a real test using this software. I also plan on buying additional exam packs to supplement the free tests already available on GMATPrep. I've been told that the questions on these tests are the closest to the questions on the actual GMAT exam, which is definitely the biggest benefit of using this software. ### 2. It doesn't get better than this, an opportunity to become familiar with the types of questions throughout the exam, directly from the organization that administers it. Also, a whole suite of free practice questions and full length exams is available for free. **What do you dislike about GMATPrep Software?** With only two full-length exams available, some students are not able to determine if their improvement has been significant enough. In some cases, purchasing additional practice tests is cost prohibitive. It would be interesting to see the ability to order custom packages that allow users to pick and choose components a la carte. It also needs to be mobile friendly. **Recommendations to others considering GMATPrep Software:** Try the free GMAT test prep software before spending money on any packages. If nothing else, this will provide valuable information regarding which sections of the test each potential student should be concerned with. In turn, this allows for smarter and more organized study planning, as areas for improvement can be targeted and the rest can be set aside to avoid overwhelming volumes of study materials. **What problems is GMATPrep Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Taking the GMAT is one of the most daunting tasks for those prospective students considering graduate management education. It serves as a great tool for a quick overview introduction if you need to take the test quickly and is an even better tool if you have time to really work through the material. It's a great addition to the course I teach! **What do you dislike about GMATPrep Software?** The practice tests do not use the actual logarithm used in dictating next questions on a GMAT. This means the results of the practice GMAT exams can be somewhat misleading and don't give the user a totally true feel of the flow of the exam. **Recommendations to others considering GMATPrep Software:** Creating a logarithm results driven practice exam. **What problems is GMATPrep Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** I direct students to this product who are seeking MBA admission whether it is as study or on your own too or as an interactive tool in my GMAT Prep course. ### 9. Taking both practice exams is essential to getting a good score on the GMAT. This is great software to time yourself, and get a feel for where you are and where you need to be. It doesn't allow you to resize the screen which was annoying, but it turned out to be a good thing because you can't resize the screen on the actual test. **What do you dislike about GMATPrep Software?** I would have liked the practice questions to be broken down into more specific categories so that I could see me weakest areas by subsets. Sometimes it was lagging after submitting a question, this shaved valuable seconds off my allotted time. It's very proprietary, and so adding extra exam packs and questions is difficult and complicated. Opening the software from the desktop was often buggy, and I would have to shut it down and restart it. With reading comprehension questions, and integrated reasoning questions, the timer doesn't accurately reflect how much time was spent on the whole set of questions. The software does a very poor job with the "review" feature for reviewing your incorrect answers. You cannot review questions by section, and you cannot select and review individual incorrect answers. Your only option is "review all" or "review incorrect," and in each case you have to start with the first one and click your way through. This was very time consuming, and it cut down on my overall study time/productivity. Overall it's very expensive to purchase add-ons, and I believe they make it this way because they know people are afraid of performing poorly and are willing to shell out the money. **Recommendations to others considering GMATPrep Software:** Buy this and use it early to see how you do and where you need to focus your studying. Then purchase supplemental materials if necessary. **What problems is GMATPrep Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** I used this to study for the GMAT. I also bought extra practice exams to add on to the software. Additionally, I used other study sources such as Magoosh, Prep4GMAT, the official 2015 GMAT Study Guide. ### 10.
