Recommendations to others considering Globalscape:
If you have any interest whatsoever with using Active Directory as the authentication method for users or to use as access control, I highly suggest configuring that as your setup the site(s). What problems is Globalscape solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are required by law to transfer any PII or other sensitive data in a secured fashion when transmitting it externally. In compliance with that, we work with our external providers to use secure protocols. Globalscape's EFT platform makes that a breeze. They support industry standard protocols and provide a vast array of ciphers to use for encryption. With the Advanced Security Module, you gain additional access to features like AS2 for transmission acknowledgement, etc.
Something we use that has really been a boon to our users is the Workspace Module. This allows users to send files to external clients securely. It also supports sending files that are much larger than most email services will allow one to send or receive. Additionally, Globalscape provides the ability to integrate workspaces with Microsoft Outlook, so if an organization uses Outlook and Exchange, whenever a client attempts to send a file larger than Exchange will allow, the file will automatically upload into EFT and add a download link to the email.
