## About Galaxy
Galaxy is a next-generation SQL editor purpose-built for developers, data engineers, and technical teams who want speed, precision, and collaboration—without the bloat of legacy BI tools or the chaos of copy-pasted queries. Whether you’re wrangling complex joins, optimizing production queries, or sharing source-of-truth logic across your org, Galaxy makes SQL feel like a superpower again. At its core, Galaxy is a lightning-fast, memory-light AI SQL IDE that blends the feel of your favorite code editor with rich data tooling. Unlike clunky web-based platforms or old-school desktop apps, Galaxy delivers a sleek, intuitive developer experience. It supports keyboard shortcuts, custom themes, full-screen focus mode, and blazing-fast autocomplete powered by schema-aware intelligence. What truly sets Galaxy apart is its context-aware AI copilot—an intelligent assistant that actually understands your schema. You can write new queries, refactor legacy SQL, debug errors, and even generate new logic based on real database structure—not generic code. It’s AI for people who know what they’re doing—and want to go faster. But Galaxy isn’t just for solo devs. It’s designed to scale with your team. Through Collections, teams can share and endorse trusted queries, create reusable building blocks, and reduce the chaos of Slack threads and Notion docs filled with outdated logic. Galaxy becomes your team’s source of truth for SQL—complete with access controls, version history, and collaboration features like roles, run history, and approval workflows. Unlike traditional business intelligence platforms that abstract SQL behind drag-and-drop dashboards, Galaxy leans into the technical core. Engineers and data practitioners are the power users—and everything is built with them in mind. The roadmap includes lightweight visualizations, recurring query workflows, dbt sync, GitHub integration, and more. Galaxy works out of the box with major databases like PostgreSQL, Snowflake, MySQL, and more. It integrates with tools developers already use—Slack, GitHub, Notion, Airtable—and supports workflows ranging from casual data exploration to operational reporting. Galaxy is free to use for individual developers, with paid plans for premium AI usage, multiplayer mode, and advanced team features. Pricing starts at $15/month with flexible tiers for startups, small teams, and enterprise orgs. Security is first-class: Galaxy never uses your data to train models, keeps credentials encrypted locally, and is on the path to SOC 2 compliance. Ideal for technical founders, data engineers, and software developers, Galaxy is built for those who want to write better SQL, move faster, and collaborate without chaos. Companies building data-driven products, tracking KPIs, or delivering metrics in-app will see the highest ROI. Why teams choose Galaxy: 3–4× faster SQL development 40%+ fewer redundant data requests Centralized query governance Trusted AI that knows your schema Built for IDE-loving developers—not BI analysts Galaxy is where SQL meets collaboration, and where data finally becomes a team sport. 👉 Try Galaxy free at getgalaxy.io

## Galaxy Reviews
 ### 1. Finally, a SQL editor built for how teams actually work with incredible AI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard O. | Director of Data and Sales, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Galaxy?**

Galaxy is super fast and feels like a real developer tool, not some clunky old BI platform. The AI copilot has saved me a ton of time writing and debugging queries, and I love how easy it is to organize and share queries with the team using Collections. It’s clean, intuitive, and just works.

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

Sometimes I wish there were more integrations out of the box, but they’ve been adding new ones quickly. Also would love some lightweight charting without needing to export.

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Galaxy helps us keep all our important queries in one place, which means way less digging through Slack threads or outdated Notion pages. It’s made it easier for teammates to reuse trusted queries and reduces back-and-forth when people need data. The AI copilot also speeds up writing SQL dramatically, especially for more complex joins or when I’m switching between projects. It’s a huge upgrade from traditional SQL clients and makes our whole workflow faster and more collaborative.

 ### 2. A fast, smart SQL editor that actually feels built for devs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam M. | Director of Sales and Marketing., Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Galaxy?**

Galaxy is super fast and the interface feels clean and modern without being bloated. The AI copilot is surprisingly good - it actually understands my schema and saves me time with query suggestions. I also love the ability to share and organize queries with my team in Collections.

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

The only thing I’d improve is adding a few more keyboard shortcuts and maybe making versioning a bit more intuitive. Nothing major, just small UX tweaks that would make things smoother.

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Galaxy helps cut down on Slack messages asking for the same data over and over - now I can just share a Collection and people can self-serve. It also speeds up my workflow when I’m writing or editing queries, especially with the AI suggestions. Having a shared, searchable space for queries has definitely made team collaboration more efficient and less error-prone

 ### 3. The best AI SQL Editor out there for sure

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick H. | VP of Data and Sales Enablement, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Galaxy?**

Galaxy feels super fast and clean, like a modern IDE but for SQL. The AI copilot is surprisingly helpful for writing and tweaking queries, and I love how easy it is to share queries with the team without needing to screenshot or copy/paste all day. Has been a gamechanger and near instant to get started.

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

The UX needs a few tweaks still but its so early, this is apparently their first release

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Galaxy makes it way easier to find and reuse queries instead of digging through Slack or old docs. I’ve also noticed our team is asking each other fewer “do you have a query for X?” questions since we started organizing things in Collections. It’s been a big timesaver, and the versioning gives me peace of mind when I’m editing something someone else wrote.

 ### 4. Galaxy is a helpful SQL editor with AI-driven query assistance, team collaboration, and sharing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan B. | Associate, Private Equity & Real Assets, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Galaxy?**

Galaxy stands out to me for its sleek UI and AI copilot that understands context and generates accurate SQL queries. It’s significantly streamlined my query-writing process and saved countless hours. I also love having a centralized space to store and collaborate on queries with my team, eliminating the need to pass SQL back and forth over message.

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

Since Galaxy is still in its early stages, it’s still missing a few features that I think would be value-additive. For example, I’d love to see built-in tools for data visualization and orchestration added in the near future.

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Galaxy makes it easier for me to manage, write, and share SQL across teams. Its AI assistance helps reduce the time I spend on query building. Also, its shared workspaces enhance data accessibility and collaboration.

 ### 5. Great tool for writing and sharing SQL without the headache

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hope W. | Managing partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Galaxy?**

Galaxy feels super fast and lightweight, which makes jumping in to write or edit a query really easy. I also like that the AI actually understands our data and helps me clean up queries instead of just guessing. The interface is clean and not overwhelming.

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

I wish the onboarding had more simple walkthroughs for newer users. A bit more guidance upfront would go a long way.

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Galaxy helps me find and reuse trusted queries instead of digging through old docs. It saves me from asking engineers every time I need something small. The AI copilot makes me more productive and I like being able to share a query with teammates and see the run history—it’s just easier to collaborate this way.

 ### 6. Galaxy feels like Cursor for SQL

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Galaxy?**

Galaxy is the upgrade TablePlus users like myself have needed for years. The editor is fast. I lean on the schema-aware AI copilot to draft joins and refactor messy queries, then stash the polished versions in “Collections” for the rest of my team to view and edit so we're not reinventing the wheel every time we need to answer a BI question with a query. The whole UI feels built for engineers: dark theme, Vim-style shortcuts, and share-by-link collaboration that just works.

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

I’d love to see lightweight charting or quick result visualizations baked in, plus a simple scheduler to repeat jobs without wiring up an external tool. Those are nice-to-haves though—the core editor is already solid.

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Galaxy cuts my query drafting time in half and keeps SQL snippets in one place instead of scattered through Slack threads and Notion pages. Colleagues can grab trusted queries from Collections and tweak parameters themselves, which slashes back-and-forth questions. Having versioned, shareable queries also boosts confidence that everyone is looking at the same logic and data.

 ### 7. A simple, reliable tool my team actually enjoys using

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gavin W. | CEO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Galaxy?**

My team tells me Galaxy is fast, easy to use, and has really helped cut down on their back-and-forth. I’m not technical, but I can tell it’s made their workflow smoother and more efficient. The fact that they actually want to use it says a lot.

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

There’s a bit of a learning curve if you’re not in the weeds with data every day. I wouldn’t mind seeing more resources for non-technical users.

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Galaxy, my team was constantly chasing down queries in Slack or rebuilding the same reports. Now they can find what they need quickly, reuse trusted work, and collaborate without pulling in extra people. It’s given them more autonomy and saved everyone time.

 ### 8. Clean UI, performant querying tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis F. | Software engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Galaxy?**

Galaxy feels super snappy and clean to use — the editor loads fast and just works. I like how the interface stays out of the way but gives me everything I need, from schema-aware autocomplete to real-time collaboration. The Collections feature makes it easy to keep our team’s go-to queries organized and trusted.

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

Would love to see built in viz or lightweight dashboards down the road. A scheduler for recurring queries would also make this feel more like a full data platform.

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Galaxy has made query writing way faster for me, especially when exploring new datasets or debugging prod code. It’s helped reduce back and forth with our analysts since we now store trusted queries in shared collections. We’ve also cut down on Slack threads by collaborating directly in Galaxy when troubleshooting data issues. Compared to older tools, Galaxy keeps things simple but powerful

 ### 9. Fast, smart SQL editor that makes team queries way less painful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Galaxy?**

Galaxy feels clean and fast — I don’t have to wait around for things to load or freeze. The AI copilot is actually helpful and understands my tables, so I’m not stuck digging through old queries. Also love how easy it is to share and comment on queries with teammates.

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

Would be nice to have a bit more control over saved query organization or folders. Minor stuff, but it could help when juggling a lot of ongoing projects.

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s cut down the time I spend writing and debugging SQL by a lot. I can quickly tweak queries instead of rewriting from scratch, and the AI often catches things I miss. It’s also made async collaboration smoother since everyone can see and comment directly in the editor, which has reduced Slack back-and-forth. I feel more confident the data we’re working with is consistent and transparent.

 ### 10. Game-Changing SQL Editor to 10X Productivity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex S. | Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Galaxy?**

Galaxy is fast and modern - writing and editing queries is much less painful. The AI copilot is surprisingly helpful for speeding up repetitive tasks and catching small mistakes. I also really like how easy it is to share queries or collaborate with teammates in real time.

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

Some basic visualizations would also make it easier to explore results without jumping into another tool.

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Way less back-and-forth on Slack - we can just share queries and results in one place. It’s also helped newer team members get up to speed faster because the interface is super intuitive.

 ### 11. The most helpful data tool we have ever used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt M. | Director, Aryeo, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Galaxy?**

Galaxy helps our team actually work with data instead of constantly pinging engineers to understand data changes or structures. It’s easy to build what we need, collaborate without breaking things, and move faster on analysis and planning. We've been able to stand up workflows and reports that used to take weeks in just a few hours.

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

Honestly, nothing so far. It does what we need it to do and saves us so much time.

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Galaxy is helping us move faster by getting rid of the constant back-and-forth between ops, analytics, and engineering. We’re no longer stuck waiting on someone to write a script or build a one-off dashboard, we can actually build and ship what we need ourselves. That’s helped us make better decisions and test ideas way quicker than we could before.

 ### 12. A fast, modern SQL editor that makes team collaboration easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keegan H. | Senior Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Galaxy?**

I love how fast and lightweight the editor feels, even with large queries. The interface is clean and intuitive, and the real-time collaboration features make it easy to share work with teammates. The AI copilot is also great for quickly iterating on queries without breaking focus.

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

I’d like to see built-in visualization tools and query scheduling added down the line. It would help reduce the need to bounce between Galaxy and other platforms for those tasks.

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Galaxy has cut down the time I spend writing and refactoring queries by a huge margin. It’s eliminated the hassle of searching through Slack or old repos for SQL snippets since everything is organized in one place. Sharing queries with teammates has also reduced back-and-forth and helped build trust in the data we use daily.

 ### 13. The SQL tool I actually enjoy using every day

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Galaxy?**

Honestly, it’s just fast and gets out of the way. The AI Copilot is pretty on point—it actually knows our schema so I’m not constantly Googling syntax. Sharing queries with teammates is super easy too, which saves a ton of time.

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

Sometimes the AI struggles with really long or weird queries, but it’s usually close. And I wish Collections were a bit more customizable in how they’re sorted or grouped.

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to have random SQL floating around in Slack, Notion, and Git, and it was a mess. Now it’s all in one place and way easier to find and reuse stuff. I’m not getting pinged as much for “hey do you have that query?” messages anymore. And non-engineers can actually poke around and run things themselves, which is kind of amazing.

 ### 14. A super fast, clean SQL editor that actually makes team collaboration easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Galaxy?**

Galaxy feels fast and polished right out of the box. The AI copilot is surprisingly good at picking up on schema context and helping me clean up queries. I also love the Collections feature — it makes sharing and reusing queries with the team so much smoother.

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

Would be great to have built-in scheduling and basic visualizations down the line. Nothing major missing, just a few nice-to-haves as the product grows.

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to waste time digging through Slack threads or old Notion docs for queries. Now with Galaxy, everything is organized and easy to find. It’s sped up my workflow and cut down a lot of repetitive Slack questions from teammates. It’s also made onboarding new devs way easier since they can quickly learn from trusted, shared queries.

 ### 15. The fastest, cleanest SQL editor I’ve used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antoine E. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Galaxy?**

The editor loads instantly, and it just gets out of your way. The AI copilot is actually helpful (not just a gimmick), and the collaboration tools make it easy to work with teammates on shared queries.

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

I wish the Collections UI had a few more bulk management features.

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Galaxy has totally replaced our old copy-paste routine across Slack and Notion. Now we just share queries with a link and everyone can explore or tweak them without breaking anything.

 ### 16. Enterprise AE: Account Research & Segment

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph G. | Enterprise Account Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Galaxy?**

Galaxy is what every modern SQL tool should strive to be—fast, collaborative, and intelligent. It lowers the barrier to entry for new team members while supercharging veterans with tools that eliminate bus

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

More themes or layout preferences (like adjustable panel sizing or compact views) could help power users tailor the experience to their workflow.

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Galaxy?**

Tools for querying DBs have been lagging way behind a lot of other areas in the engineering world, and Galaxy is a much needed change to this pattern. Their AI-enabled querying and DB interaction is both intuitive and powerful, and there really isn't another sql ide that I would use right now. The team is also incredibly responsive; they're clearly committed to making a best-in-class product.

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

As a new product, there are definitely still improvements to be made, but the team is working at a great pace to make them happen.

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is adding AI to the process of querying SQL Dbs

 ### 18. A fast, clean SQL editor with helpful AI and great team features

**What do you dislike about Galaxy?**

Sometimes the AI suggestions are a little off if the query is complex or super nested. Would be nice to have more keyboard shortcuts or customization options in the editor.

**What problems is Galaxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Galaxy cuts down the time I spend rewriting the same queries or answering repeat questions from teammates. Having a single place to store and endorse reliable queries has built way more trust in our data. Writing and solving problems using SQL.
