Still, we needed to build cross-functional buy-in and adoption across other areas of the fundraising division to receive the highest impact. There are so many facets to this software and how it an be used. Our biggest issue was deciding where to start. As with any new technology, there was some initial distrust and fear that had to be overcome before it gained acceptance. Their team of data scientists led by Dr. Greg Lee, were instrumental in helping us make better predictions on our annual donors including helping us raise over a significant amount of our $1.3M campaign for our BeaversCare initiative. We've taken advantage of many of the team's offerings including their gift forms, email system, predictive recommendations (individuals and donation amounts), and even variable data videos.

AI/Machine Learning is difficult for an organization to wrap its head around. Its not just a product, its not just a process, but its the combination of the people, processes and tools which make this a great company to work with. For example, you need data to feed the machines. Fundmetric has really helped us better understand our data... the good, the bad, and the ugly aspects of it and the need for both positive and negative inputs. As an organization, we're really good about recording our successes, but we also need to track and monitor our failures to avoid biases in the design of the models.
