## Flywheel Reviews
  ### 1. Poor Support Overshadows Easy Migration

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jake H. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

I use Flywheel for hosting my WordPress websites. It was easy to migrate four years ago. My sites are online most of the time.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

I actually hate using Flywheel, and the customer support is terrible. I was under the impression that we switched from annual to monthly billing. Our sites were taken down, and when I reached out to Flywheel to sort everything out, they said I had to pay the full annual fee and then they would prorate me and switch me to monthly. When I asked for basic numbers, I got ghosted and support has been totally unresponsive for three days. Even though I've been a loyal customer for four years, I can't get a hold of support. No one will respond, even to basic follow-ups.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flywheel solves the hosting for my WordPress sites, keeping them online most of the time.

  ### 2. Gret Starter Hosting Platform

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Flywheel makes it easy to get started and the support is helpful. Their dashboard is easy to navigate and their products are simple and clear to understand.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Some advanced hosting available on other platforms are missing such as limited control over wp-config and htaccess files, customizable redirects.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flywheel provides a clean and easy to entry level hosting solution for website owners. They offer great support and fair pricing.

  ### 3. Durability and simple construction and installation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gonzalo O. | HR Systems Analyst, Financial Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Flywheel simplifies the process of creating clean WordPress environments for testing themes & plugins. I would like to point out that the interface is quite clear and the stand presets are very useful to me.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

By Flywheel is unmistakably local and it gives quite a peripheral impression from the main Flywheel hosting service. To transfer the changes I make on my local site to the actual Flywheel-hosted site, I have to export and import my site, which is not efficient, particularly for large projects.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flywheel has enhanced my working process with WordPress. Local by Flywheel enables me to make trials in a controlled environment without having to influencing the live site.

  ### 4. Excellent, excellent, excellent, but...

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phil H. | Free Lance Photographer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Ease of use, website speed and backup. Restoring to a previous version is very easy. Customer service is very good, but has slipped recently.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

I've been with Flywheel for 4 years. Technically, it's the best I've ever seen. Speed, uptime, interface all excellent. But this is not the best hosting for 1 or 2 websites. This is a professional-level, agency-oriented hosting company, evolving toward agencies with 20 or more clients. Pricing recently changed from 4 choices to 2. You can have 1 website or 10, there's nothing in between. I just don't need 10 websites. Also, customer service is slipping. Used to be, I'd get a support ticket response within 15 minutes. Now, it's more than 24 hours.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

"What problems is Flywheel..." is incorrect English... C'mon, guys.... Learn to write.

None. I run 2 websites of my own and although the technical performance of my website is superb, and customer support is slipping. Plus, it is WAY too expensive for just 2 websites. This is an agency host.

  ### 5. Great platform and support for medium sized web presence

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick S. | Operator Training Communication Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

By far the best support I've received from a hosting company. They are very quick to answer questions, and you get to speak to a live person right away. Their management interface is super simple to navigate and includes many features you have to pay extra for with other providers. SSL, backups, etc., are all included and very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

When our website needs to send a lot of notifications (password resets, purchase confirmations, etc.) in a single day, we've exceeded our email limit and Flywheel shut down our email. This led to hundreds of customers not receiving notifications for the time it was down, and this has happened multiple times. We've not been able to get a solid number from them on email limits, or any solution for increasing those limits.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple Wordpress hosting with excellent 24/7/365 customer support.

  ### 6. After hosting with 'the other guys' - we've found our 'Forever Host' with Flywheel

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melanie H. | S, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

The support with Flywheel is second to none. More than once now, they're support has included Wordpress troubleshooting - going way beyond troubleshooting server level issues and helping us out in pinches with issues caused by themes, plugins and API outages.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Honestly, nothing comes to mind. There are a few features in the backend that I wish could be done globally (removing or adding collaborators) but no big issues have come up in 5 years with Flywheel.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

The quality of support is second to none. It's a email based support system - so no waiting in queue in a chat (like the other guys). If you view their Flywheel Agency Partners group on FB you will see the quality and love for this product.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hosting of 133 websites, with daily backups and quick server support. The Free Website Migration tool alone saves me so much time - and my productivity = $.

  ### 7. The Best Managed WordPress Hosting for Agencies

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Their choice of Google Cloud Platform, Growth Suite, client reports, and billing capabilities using Stripe are exceptional features for agencies that you don't want to miss.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

There's not much to dislike. The minor issues may seem significant, but it's just a matter of voting for your feature and hoping it will get implemented. Staging backups are missing, and that's all to complain about for now.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

If you're not an agency, Flywheel still has solutions, such as the Tiny plan for $13 per month. You can always add collaborators to your non-agency account for other clients so you can manage their accounts.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been hosting our clients at another host that does not offer managed WordPress hosting with the ability to send out client reports and also send out invoices for work done. Flywheel helps us do all that and be super-efficient.

  ### 8. Good hosting solution for non-member Wordpress websites

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keith E. | Web Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Flywheel has a simple dashboard, and it is easy to find the main tools you need to manage your WordPress websites. You can set up free SSL, get an overview of your plugins' status, visitor stats, and backups at a glance. Support is readily available via chat or email. I recommend Flywheel as a solid solution for lower-traffic sites that don't have a membership or eCommerce shops.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Their services Performance Insights is too expensive and should be offered on all plans. I don't understand why they charge extra for this. They also don't give up much information about the server setup. This normally isn't very necessary, but makes it difficult to run anything that requires any heavy resources, such as busy membership or eCommerce websites.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is very easy to manage client websites from their dashboard. Clients like it because it isn't cluttered with technical details. Agencies will enjoy the ability to create a template site and clone sites quickly to get started on new projects. For the most part, support is pretty good, especially for standard requests. They are friendly and pretty quick to respond. It is easy to manage many sites and hand them off to clients if they want to leave your services. They also have a great blog and seem to care about the community. Staging sites can be spun up in a matter of minutes and backups are as easy as clicking a button.

  ### 9. Flywheel is as easy as one, two, three!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Camille S. | Project Manager/Web Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

I really like that Flywheel has easy-to-use and easy-to-understand server management, site backups, and one-click site restoration. I also love their Local feature where you are able to edit WordPress sites on your local server, or restore a backup to the local server to grab media or something else that was lost.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

I dislike that their support team can only direct you to articles rather than going in and doing difficult tasks on your behalf.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

It is easy to use for people that are not experienced developers, but their support team is not super helpful. You will 90% probably have no problem using it but if a bigger issue occurs then you may be stuck without developer or IT help.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work for a web design company and one of our white label clients uses Flywheel. It is a good solution for him since he is not a developer, but a designer. We are able to collaborate easily with him using flywheel.

  ### 10. Excellent host for WordPress based sites

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle S. | UI Design Mentor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

What attracted me to Flywheel was the ease of use, pricing, and features. I had previously used several other hosting companies, mainly WPEngine and Flywheel I found to be more user-friendly. The bulk packages were a real draw, and although it's a different product, their Local development software was a breakthrough making local dev and deployment a breeze. It has a modern interface that's much easier to use than the competition, it's much faster to setup a site and I receive updates as the deployments are happening.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Sometimes a site will lock up for no apparent reason or won't update on code deployments. Most of the issues stem from their Local development product.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

I would recommend to anyone who is needing WordPress hosting to use Flywheel. I haven't found a site that didn't work better with them compared to the competition.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Flywheel for effective WordPress hosting, and Flywheel is a game-changer in how quickly I can get a site online and work seamlessly with it locally.

  ### 11. Easy done for Wordpress Hosting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyler G. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Best back end interface you can get for website hosting. No other tool has a better looking dashboard. Everything you need is there and it makes manaing Wordpress site hosting simple.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

So far all is good, but I am concerned that now a larger company has bought them, the way they integrate team members and procedures might not be the best service we are used to getting.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hosting WordPress websites and collaborating with developers and other people who need to have access to hosting, they have done this better than all other companies.

  ### 12. Perfectly Servicable Managed WordPress Hosting

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave R. | Web Developer, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

It's faster than most other hosting platforms with a mostly responsive support team. The dashboard gives you all the necessary controls to manage your WordPress websites, being easy to use and pleasant to look at, with security and daily backup features in the case of an emergency.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

The staging environments they provide are slow and often needs its memory boosted to not run into memory exhaustion errors between every WordPress dashboard page load. Some support staff members have no clue what they're talking about in certain circumstances, requiring you to elevate the support ticket to a higher-level tier. Processes sometimes get stuck, needing a support agent's help to rectify. Our hosting accounts have been stuck on the legacy hosting platform, which hosts our websites on the same server, adversely affecting performance, especially during heavy spambot attacks. After requesting multiple times for conversion over to their new hosting infrastructure, they still haven't migrated our accounts over to it, keeping us in the legacy platform. Unfortunately, this means we can't take advantage of all the features the new hosting infrastructure offers.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeps all of our "Enterprise" hosting clients all in one place, on a server that's more secure than other hosting platforms. The server's fast enough and gives us plenty of tools to optimize performance with caching mechanisms and complimentary CDNs—a good value for the money, with a service that scales with you as your client base grows.

  ### 13. Great WordPress Website Management Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caroline K. | Digital Marketing Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

It's so easy to manage all of your WordPress sites in one spot. Their support team is awesome!

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

You can only add WordPress websites, so we have had to find other alternatives for our HTML sites.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our server was hard to manage and Flywheel's support team makes it so much easier.

  ### 14. Flywheel Makes Hosting Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin D. | Vice President & Owner , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Flywheel makes it easy to manage all of my clients hosting needs. Plus the support is amazing. Which saves us time.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

The staging and e-commerce capabilities could be better.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flywheel solves hosting and support issues.

  ### 15. Everything you would want in managed WordPress hosting at a fair price

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charles F. | Director Of Product Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2021

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Easy site migration, very simple to manage your site details, makes it easy to keep your site running the way you want it to

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Wish they would allow you to have a test site operating for free (behind a password of course) without paying for it. If you build a side hustle site, you have to complete it within a few days.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Needed a way to host my websites more simply than shared hosting. It has saved me hours every month in management and upgrading.

  ### 16. I absolutely LOVE what flywheel is doing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jimmy P. | S, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

I absolutely LOVE what flywheel is doing. Wordpress management has always been a nightmare, especially when you are hosting multiple Wordpress sites. Flywheel makes it so easy.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Everything has been great so far. There is nothing that I have disliked

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wordpress management has always been a nightmare, especially when you are hosting multiple Wordpress sites. Flywheel makes it so easy. It has made managing my clients much easier.

  ### 17. Flywheel for the win!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason H. | Creative Design Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

The ease of connectivity, pushing / pulling, and the ability to spin up a local version on my machine. I have the ability to choose whether I want push / pull just the files or the files and the database.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

I can't think of something I dislike. Maybe display the site tags in the site list.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had a clunky process when I started (not using flywheel), and since incorporating flywheel, and some process improvements, we turn what was once a 1 lane highway into a 3 lane highway. We used to use a vendor to help with our backlog, and since, we have not required the use of outsourcing any work!

  ### 18. Speed + Excellent Support Make it Worth the Money

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brendan O. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

The best aspect of Flywheel is definitely their terrific technical support. Their agents are able to fix problems with your server that may be causing it to be slow or incompatible with updates. I have reached out to them on multiple occasions via live chat and they are quick and eager to help.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Flywheel is more expensive than competitors, but it is not unreasonable. You may need to work to convince your client that it is worth it, but I believe for the quality of service it is worth it.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

If you are building a WordPress site for a client, you cannot beat Flywheel in my opinion. Any problem you run into on the server side they are willing and able to fix. They can look into problems such as slow load times and compatibility problems with plugins. Although they may be more expensive than others, your client will most likely not bat an eye at the price and you can just roll the cost over to the client.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have built both a personal site and a site for a client using Flywheel. It lets me remain the administrator of the site even though my client is paying for it. If the client runs into a problem, I can usually just have Flywheel support fix it.

  ### 19. Great application

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Ease of use. The dashboard is very helpful in building Wordpress sites.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Nothing to dislike about it. Maybe the payment plans, wish there was a cheaper, unlimited option.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hosting. The dashboard is great.

  ### 20. Flywheel is the best hosting I've ever used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony G. | Web Design & Content Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

It works smoothly and seamlessly! I was used to having to do all sorts of things to optimize my sites, and using all sorts of 3rd party services to insure I had security and backups...but that all stopped when I switched to Flywheel. Everything just works. Adding a site is easy. Getting the site up live is easy. Moving a site to a clients account is easy (and you get an affiliate cut) Everything looks beautiful and is well designed. And if you run into trouble their support staff is great and seemingly ever present.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

I don't dislike anything. The only thing that approaches anything like that is a slight worry about them being bought by another hosting company. Will they get assimilated? Will they get ruined? Will I have to find a new host and lose this great one? I've addressed this with them and they have reassured me that they are not going away and that they will continue to give great support. So far that has been true, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

Try it out with one site for a month or two. I bet you'll move all your sites over after you see how easy everything can be

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great hosting for my own sites as well as client sites, that is easy to setup, easy to maintain, backed up and secure, and integrates with my local development software...which they make, so it does! (Local is actually how I found Flywheel)

  ### 21. Cancelation billing issues

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jinkuk N. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Their support in integration was pretty smooth.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

The migration took much longer than expected and thus we were unable to complete it before we got acquired. When we canceled our service we are still getting charged with no response from their online support or email. I had to block their billing from my credit card company as they just don't respond to billing.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We didn't get to realize the benefits are the migration to FlyWheel just took too long. We wanted a managed hosting environment that allowed our DevOps to focus on other platforms with improved performance.

  ### 22. Flywheel Hosting Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew M. | Director Of Business Development, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

The things we like best about Flywheel hosting are dashboard, support and ease of use. Flywheel's dashboard makes it easy to see all your sites in one place. The hosting options for websites are great as well. We love their customer support and how quickly they respond and resolve issues. The ease of use is great and we love the simplicity of turning a staging site live. The daily backups are a plus and we have the peace of mind knowing our websites will be up and running when we need them to be.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

The recent pricing changes make things more confusing. The old options for pricing were much more straightforward and easy to understand for us and our customers. More pricing options would be ideal especially for smaller websites that do not require such intensive hosting solutions.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

Evaluate your options fully. Flywheel is a comprehensive hosting solution I would recommend to anyone. However, depending on the size of the site and your needs, there are cheaper options out there.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The things we like best about Flywheel hosting are dashboard, support and ease of use. Flywheel's dashboard makes it easy to see all your sites in one place. The hosting options for websites are great as well. We love their customer support and how quickly they respond and resolve issues. ### 23. Awesome User Experience with Brilliant Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron L. | Chief Product Officer, Hospital & Health Care, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

The user experience is just so beautiful. The amount of effort placed into designing something as simple and elegant must have been tremendous, and it shows in the usability of the platform. Saying that I love using Flywheel is a severe understatement.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

The pricing is ok for most basic sites, but for heavy traffic sites that require a higher page view count, $1 for 1000 sessions is really steep. So heavy ecommerce and/or blog sites are not going to work for that price point

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We like how easy it is to pass the cost of hosting and the support of the wordpress site to the customer. It's simple elegant and I never had a client say they didnt understand the workflow. It basically just works

  ### 24. We host almost 100 sites with Flywheel and couldn't be happier!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nate F. | WordPress Expert, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Infrastructure, integration, and support. We use their Local by Flywheel for local development, we have quick and Magic Sync deployments at our fingertips. This setup allows for flexible single and multiple developer workflows.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

They currently don't offer HTTPS on staging domains. That's about the only complaint I have. It would be nice to eventually be able to integrate a deployment directly from a repo like Bitbucket, Github or Gitlab.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

Try it out, contact their support, they're great! The dashboard is really nice and intuitive as well. Actually the main selling point was their integration with Local by Flywheel. Amazing!

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developer workflow and site deployment are incredibly easy on this platform. We don't have to spend any time setting up sites or worrying about deployments. Both take less than five minutes. We also now have one click SSL installation, easy domain mapping, and quick support.

  ### 25. Fantastic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elliot S. | WordPress Developer & Digital Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

I've used Flywheel for almost 3 years now and I am very happy with the services they have provided over this time. Their support is amazing & very friendly. They clearly care about you and your success as a smaller business.

I've hardly ever had any issues with the hosting side of things, and the very small issues I have had were fixed/sorted quickly by the Flywheel team.

Really happy with Flywheel - highly recommended.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Their "app" is great and very use friendly, but there are a few small improvements I think could be made - though they are always making QOL improvements/changes every 1-2 months it seems which is awesome.

My 2 main suggestions are:
- A way to view "site stats" for sites easier on a bulk plan. Instead of having to select the sites individually, then visits the "stats" tab, it would be nice if there was a stats summary on the sites list.
- A way to add a "client" as a "collaborator" to a site, with more limited features and access, and hidden "bulk plan" stats. Maybe even a way to offer a "white label" collaborator dashboard (for managing sites, backups, stats, etc).

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to offer high quality, super-fast, and reliable WordPress hosting to our clients.

  ### 26. Reasonable managed WordPress hosting that attempts to take care of troublesome aspects

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David B. | Systems Integrator, Photography, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

We liked that Flywheel attempts to manage version upgrading, by using their control panel to upgrade to the latest version of WordPress.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

We didn't like that we found the hosting to be slow at times, and that long processes like bulk image resizing stalled or were much slower than a VPS solution.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

Consider if you need very fast bulk processing of thumbnail images, as it may be slow with Flywheel.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a way to host WordPress web sites, and a business problem was running a server. Flywheel has the benefit of managing WordPress web hosting and the database for you, including backups. This benefits from saving time.

  ### 27. Fly with Flywheel

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary M. | Special Events Coordinator, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2018

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Flywheel is one of the most popular WordPress managed hosting providers available, and it’s easy to see why. They offer a great set of features for both regular WordPress users and agencies alike. With a great support service, fast and reliable performance, what more could you want? They offer several channels of communication, including plain email tickets, phone calls, social media, and live chat. For our Flywheel review for WordPress, we decided to test their live chat, since that’s the channel most people tend to use.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

There is a higher price than that of what you would find with similar products.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

Overall, Flywheel lives up to its reputation with a comprehensive set of WordPress features. If you’re a WordPress user with a little room in your budget, Flywheel is definitely a choice worth considering.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flywheel offers a solid managed hosting experience at near-budget prices. There are cheaper alternatives out there, but few can match Flywheel when it comes to overall quality of service. If you’re a WordPress user with a little bit of extra cash in your budget, Flywheel is definitely a choice worth that extra monies..

  ### 28. Super fast, the right price; best managed hosting I've tried.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve P. | Lecturer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

The dashboard for getting your sites set up makes it so easy to start and launch sites! This 100% is my favorite thing about Flywheel - it's built for the end user's ease.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Maybe the only thing would be access to some internal controls when a specific theme requires different settings. But I understand why it's limited.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

Don't skimp on good Wordpress hosting. You probably won't find a more affordable option. And the performance is amazing.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not having to setup and manage a whole bunch of plugins and settings that I don't understand. My site is now speedy right out of the box.

  ### 29. Outstanding WordPress-Only Host; Outstanding Price and Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph B. | E-Learning Production, Kiosk Development, Managed WordPress Provider and Website Designer/Host, E-Learning, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Many hosting companies claim that they are "dedicated" to WordPress but these guys really mean it. Although they don't host straight HTML, what they do with WordPress is fantastic. I love the pricing, I love the support and I really love their consistent customer service.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

I don't like the fact that they don't host straight HTML because I offer e-learning but there is no problem with embedding plain HTML pages into root or subfolders.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

If you use WordPress, this is by far the best way to go.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been through at least 10 WordPress hosts over the years and have found varying levels of troubling management, troubling pricing structures (some won't let you downgrade without sacrificing your first-born) and troubling inconsistent service (some are very knowledgeable and some

  ### 30. Superb Managed Hosting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle B. | Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2018

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

100% uptime and quality of support. Flywheel has made my job 1000 times easier.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Not a fan of the database management tools.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So much of my time was taken up with basic server maintenance and updates, not to mention tech support calls when the previous server we had went down (which was often)
Now I have more time to focus in my clients.

  ### 31. Great website host

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

I really like the simple UX and it is great for people who are not very familiar with web technology. This host is very user friendly towards people who are looking for a simple website with no problems.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

I dislike that a lot of the times we have to edit our website requires talking to flywheel support instead of us changing from within.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

If you are a web developer looking to make your own website, I would stay far away from this hosting service. There are many better options. Flywheel's target audience are people who are not web developers.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the problem of paying for a large amount of hosting sites. This is a really good tool for digital agencies looking to have a bulk host.

  ### 32. Best hosting and development platform for Wordpress

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Fast page load times, great support and hacking prevention. Very knowledgable staff.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Cost is high but worth it. Billing is a little clunky. No email with hosting, so have to host the domain and email elsewhere and point http traffic to their IP address.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

Check them out, it will be worth your while

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flywheel provides blazing load times, makes my clients very happy

  ### 33. Excellent straightforward WordPress hosting option

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave Y. | Senior Developer, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2017

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

WordPress performance & security are outstanding on Flywheel. They also have the cleanest, most inviting dashboard UI of any host I've used. They only show you the options you actually need. They also make it easy for me as a developer to hand the site off to a client or billing admin.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

There are times when I as a developer would like a little more control. Also, I wish all of their plans included staging, and it would be nice if the "development" period when setting up a new site was longer than 30 days. It usually takes me longer than that to take a site from start to launch.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

One of the least painful web hosts that I've ever worked with in the sense that they don't sell you things you don't need, they make managing your site a breeze, their support is fantastic, and they're hosting performance is speedy and secure. I recommend them all the time.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Setting clients up with a WordPress host that is dependable and isn't trying to upsell them at every opportunity.

  ### 34. My Clients Love Flywheel, and So Do I

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Grant S. | CEO, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

For my personal sites I could use a more control over the technical aspects of my hosting, but for building sites for my clients their is no better option than Flywheel. They love the user interface, and I rest easy knowing that Flywheel's friendly support staff can answer any questions that they might have.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

I wish I had more individual control over my hosting, but that is a small price to pay for awesome support and service.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

Their support is awesome.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Flywheel to migrate and host my client's websites.

  ### 35. Co founder - Uproot Online

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2018

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Flywheel has helped our web design project flow.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

I wish it wasn’t so expensive so we could pass on those savings to our customers.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a agency plan with Flywheel and this helps us rapidly develop demo sites and keep all of our clients sites under one umbrella.

  ### 36. Best hosting provider I've ever used

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael F. | CEO/Founder, Graphic Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2018

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

I LOVE their user interface. It's so intuitive and it doesn't give me anxiety from looking at it like I get with most hosting provider dashboards.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

The price is a little high but definitely worth it.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

They'll migrate your sites for free so it removes any friction.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Really fast wordpress hosting that is reliable so I never have to worry about it. No downtime so far.

  ### 37. Excellent WordPress Hosting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eddie H. | Founder, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2017

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Been using Flywheel for over 2 years now and absolutely love it! They make WordPress hosting extremely simple with a clean and modern designed user dashboard which is a refreshing change from using cPanel and other clunky hosting interfaces. This also helps with site management since I can easily see all my websites on a single screen, each with their own thumbnail image, giving each website a visual representation helping with organization.

All my sites on Flywheel are fast and have consistent reliable speeds. This is important when managing sites for clients, since the performance of their website reflects on my business and my reputation. With over 2 years of service, I've probably had less than 3 issues and all were solved very quickly. I also love the fact that they provide security monitoring and will help fix your site if you ever get hacked. No problems yet!

In addition to the simple UI and suburb hosting performance, there are several other small features that have greatly helped my productivity and efficiency when creating websites such as: one click restore, easy billing exchange for clients who want to run their own site after completion, one click add-ons like SSL/CDN/Multisite, the blueprint feature (which essentially allows you to clone sites), inviting collaborators, site staging, and other new features that seem to be released on a regular basis.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Some things I think Flywheel could improve upon is their support availability. They have amazing support and will even help with some WordPress related issues (which is nice). However, they have limited hours that you can call. I'm on their Agency plan (their highest plan) and it would be nice to get 24/7 calling or even hours that go beyond standard business hours.

My second issue is that they base their pricing based on how many sites you manage, so it can be expensive if you have a lot of sites that are small and don't use much resources. Since I work with small businesses, most of my sites have little to moderate traffic and use little storage space. Would be nice if they offered discounts to users who run small sites that use little resources and bandwidth, since that's the real cost of hosting.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

Nothing that I can think of!

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a web designer, so I wanted to find a web hosting platform made specifically for WordPress that wasn't confusing or clunky to work with. While Flywheel is on the expensive side, It has helped save me time and money in the long-run by being able to make sites faster, spending less time dealing with problems/issues, and making the overall hosting experience more enjoyable. The performance of my WordPress sites has also increased, leading to happier more satisfied clients, helping me grow my business.

  ### 38. A walk in the park...

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cedric H. | Owner, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

The support staff. They talk fast but they are very knowledgeable. I was able to establish my dashboard in minutes.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Nothing so far. The only gripe I can think of is not a gripe at all. I just wish I discovered this platform sooner.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to integrate my clients WordPress sites in one place-priceless.

  ### 39. Easiest way to host a WordPress site

Nothing to dislike. I've been happy with everything so far after 4 years.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

Be sure to use their free SSL service.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Increased rankings from fast site delivery, easy to host multiple sites, great affiliate program.

  ### 40. Amazing managed WordPress hosting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Don S. | Sales Executive, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2017

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

Great customer service, they cash custom build any solution.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

Need to know what you're doing it expect to work with customer service only during working hours.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

Use of support is during their business hours only, so plan ahead if you don't know all aspects of your environment.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managed WordPress hosting.

  ### 41. A Must-Have for Freelancers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chantelle R. | Brand Strategist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2016

**What do you like best about Flywheel?**

I love the fact that I can create a demo site and just transfer it to my clients. It has definitely streamlined my process and made my life a little easier.

**What do you dislike about Flywheel?**

I've just started using it recently. So far, I have no complaints. The customer service is awesome and they answered all of my questions even though I found the answer on the site in plain view shortly after my call.

**Recommendations to others considering Flywheel:**

If you are a designer and freelancer, Flywheel makes the process so much easier for web designers. Knowing that your Wordpress site is taken care of, secure and malware-free when you use their hosting is the best. I would definitely recommend Flywheel to others.

**What problems is Flywheel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been creating my demo sites on a separate hosting package that I purchased with Godaddy and the process takes a little bit of time to transfer and even more of a hassle when its time to start over with a new client. I love that I can duplicate and drag and drop everything from my template down to the plugins.
