"Saves a lot of work with file handling, but keep an eye on the costs"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Filestack?

What I really like about Filestack is that it handles a bunch of things you’d normally have to build and maintain yourself. File uploads seem simple at first, but once you need to support different file types, multiple upload sources, image processing, and delivery, it quickly turns into a lot of work. The File Picker is especially helpful. It gives users a clean, ready-made way to upload files so you don’t have to create the whole interface from scratch. The image transformation tools are another big win. You can resize, crop, or convert images just by changing the URL parameters. That’s super convenient when different parts of your app need the same image in different sizes. I also appreciate that uploads, processing, and delivery all live in one place. Having a CDN and solid APIs for working with the files makes the whole setup easier to manage. For anyone building web apps, dashboards, or products where people upload images and documents, it can save a solid amount of development time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Filestack?

Pricing is the main thing I’d look at carefully before using it on a bigger project. Uploads are only part of the picture — storage, bandwidth, and transformations all count toward your usage. As traffic grows, you need to keep an eye on which features eat into your monthly limits and what extra usage will cost. There’s also a bit of setup involved if you want tighter control over file access and security. Things like security policies and domain restrictions are useful, but you still have to configure them properly. Nothing is fully locked down out of the box. For a small project, the platform can feel like more than you need. It makes the most sense when the time you save justifies the ongoing cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy file picker and uploader"
5/5
What do you like best about Filestack?

Honestly the File Picker is what I like most. It’s clean and just works. People can upload from their computer or straight from Google Drive, Dropbox, Instagram, Facebook and a bunch of other places without us having to set up all those extra logins ourselves. Feels almost plug and play.

The on-the-fly image stuff is also really useful. We can resize, crop or optimise pictures just by changing a few things in the URL. Our backend guys don’t have to build custom processing jobs anymore, which saves a lot of time and hassle.

Integration was pretty straightforward too. The docs and SDKs are clear, so connecting it to our app (we use Froala) went smoothly. Uploads feel faster and more reliable now, even when someone is on slow mobile data. We’ve had fewer “upload failed” complaints since we started using it. The automatic virus scanning and signed URLs also give us some peace of mind without extra work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Filestack?

The pricing can get a bit painful once you start growing. The jump from the basic plan to the next one feels pretty steep when you hit the limits on transformations or bandwidth, especially if you’re a smaller team still watching costs. Overages add up faster than you’d expect if you’re not careful.

The docs are fine for the everyday stuff, but when you run into more specific or tricky situations, there aren’t always enough clear examples. A few times I had to dig around online or just try things myself more than I wanted to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Polished File Picker and Fast, Secure Uploads with Powerful URL Transformations"
5/5
What do you like best about Filestack?

The implementation part is also not very tight or loose; it's just some basic API integration and tweaks and backend, and it's ready to go. The File Picker is honestly one of the slickest parts; it's super polished and just works beautifully. Users can grab files not only from their computer but straight from Google Drive, Dropbox, Instagram, Facebook, you name it, without us having to build or configure a bunch of extra auth flows. It's almost plug-and-play, which is a huge win for keeping things simple. Then there's the on-the-fly transformations. Being able to resize, crop, add filters, or optimize images just by tweaking a few parameters in the URL? Game-changer. Our backend team doesn't have to spin up custom processing jobs anymore—saves a ton of time and server hassle. Integration was dead easy too. The SDKs and docs are solid, so hooking it up to our app (especially with Froala) felt quick and painless—no fighting weird edge cases right out of the gate. Speed and reliability stand out big time. Their Content Ingestion Network (CIN) makes uploads noticeably faster and way more stable, even when someone's on spotty mobile data in India or wherever. We've had way fewer "upload failed, try again" complaints since switching. And security-wise, it's reassuring: automatic virus scanning on every file, signed URLs to prevent tampering, and good controls for user-generated stuff. Gives us peace of mind without extra work. What do you dislike about Filestack?

The pricing can sting a bit as you grow. The jump from the basic "Start" plan to "Grow" feels pretty steep once you start bumping into transformation or bandwidth limits, especially if you're a small startup or bootstrapping. Overages add up quick if you're not careful. Also, the docs are generally great for the main stuff, but when you hit some of the more obscure and tight edge cases (like certain custom workflows or integrations), it could use more real-world code snippets or examples. A few times I had to dig through forums or experiment more than I'd like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like most about Filestack is its simplicity and speed in integrating file management into a web application. The API is very well documented, allows you to upload, transform, and store files easily, and offers many advanced features such as resizing, validation, or previewing, all without complexity on the developer's side. The only somewhat frustrating point is that some interface customization options may be limited by default, and intensive use can make the cost a bit high. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing one stop solution for all the File Uploading related services."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Filestack?

Ease of use. Basically a few lines of code and you are good to go. You can even connect with AWS or Google Cloud and others. Compatibility with js frameworks

I had some error with React 19 compatibility and some security issue with api key and customer support clarified issues in few hours.

Also need to mention the intelligence feature for the images build in, like OCR, nsfw, copyrights checks. OCR came in handy dealing with payment receipts for HR ops team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Filestack?

The documentation is sort of incoherent at some points. Would like an updated beginner guide that easily explains the integrations and security. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
