FastField Forms Reviews & Product Details

I like the fact that I can customize forms with just about as much complexity as I want. My people take an iPad with cell service out into the field, collect numerous points of data, photos, tests and then submit all that information. I can then log into the FastField portal and see the data in real time. The form builder allows me to create calculations within the form and include those in the report. I'm currently in the process of building a second set of forms for workorder completion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Fastfield enables a seamless transition from paper based systems to a user friendly electronic experience. There is a vast range of fields which can be used to create greatly improved forms and processes. Once established, the ability to make live changes to forms, without complex document and version control is highly effective. Fastfield allows the purpose of the form or associated process to be clearly explained, as it is not restricted to keeping everything within an A4 page. Simple to complex dashboards can be created. That it is not as easy to create forms to calculate and deliver multiple documents from the same information such as collecting and inputting data into one form that will create and send out an estimate for to a client and a full detail form internally to the office from the same form/information. Forms are really easy to design and quick to deploy (faster and easier than other solutions I've tried). I also like that you can quickly create a dashboard and get instant stats feedback. User interface is quite intuitive and easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Styling of the app form is preset. You can't change how it looks. Reports can be generated based on date ranges, but it lacks a time based filter which would be useful for reports that are created during overnight shifts (I had to do a workaround to allow for this). Web based form does not work or look the same as the app based form which can be a bit frustrating when trying to edit form submissions - we have to dispatch them back to the app, edit them there then resubmit. Dashboard reports have minimal sizing controls which results in truncated titles for smaller cards and you can't (at the time of writing) easily generate pdf based reports (though I hear that is coming). As a company and users, we like how easy it is to create forms, access them, and complete them. The learning curve for setting up forms to be accessed via scanning of QR codes was a bit of a challenge, but I received a lot of support from the professionals at fast field. We save a lot of time using the existing documents to gather data, we didn't need to code anything, just take the PDF formats we already have and place the fields in them. And that is it; we get the registries by e-mail, clean and without errors because we can check with photographs, no transcribing errors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Gathering data in a table format is complicated if the places for that are in separated zones. For example, we have to measure specific values in a line, but they are far away (several kilometers), so we either have to keep the format open or do a format for every single point. Unable to select more than one form to make a change to at the same time - Example: Obsoleting multiple forms for a product require deleting each form individually instead of selecting more than one and deleting all at the same time. In the form submissions, when filtering -after downloading an item, it does the search again instead of keeping what was previously searched up resulting in double the time to get everything needed. Having the ability to get a customized report software that is easy to use and reliable makes my day-to-day life so much more productive. FastField has also saved me money with its cost plan. My IT consultant gets good support from the FastField team as I am in New Zealand; the time zones help as I get answers overnight with limited down time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
