I mainly use Exa to find accurate, high-quality information. It saves me a lot of time by finding relevant links and clean text directly. I like how efficient it is and how it understands what I need. I value the semantic search feature, and switching between teams makes it easier to manage different projects. The initial setup was very simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I use Exa to research recent developments in my industry. It pulls daily articles from around the world about AI in my sector, which is hugely useful in my role. I get more detailed insights, links, and articles than I can generate with LLMs, with hundreds of online sources instead of just an overview summary. I like having an extensive list of links to pick from and compare, and the comprehensive search finds relevant articles from all over, even when they don’t contain my search term. Exa is much more thorough than Claude and ChatGPT, and I found the initial setup very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes when I search for new articles, Exa also brings up old or outdated ones. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like Exa’s neural and semantic search and its structured output. When my AI agents search for developer documentation or technical solutions, Exa returns exact, relevant content. It lets my agents skip complex web scraping and text cleaning by returning pre-parsed structured markdown and precise context instead of raw HTML or ad-stuffed pages, so they can use the content immediately. It helps with accuracy, agent workflows, and real-time data integration, and the initial setup was very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing as of now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like Exa’s semantic neural search over keyword mappings because it searches by intent and concept and gives me more accurate, higher-density results. With searchAndContents and highlights, I can target specific extractions instead of pushing bloated HTML into the model, which helps reduce redundant data and random hallucinations. I also have less maintenance than with traditional search APIs, and the initial setup was very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The main drawback for me is the current search limitation. I’d like a native hybrid search fallback in the SDK that switches to traditional keyword search when it encounters strict domain gating or low confidence. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ability it has to provide my chatbot with up-to-date information published on the internet Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing I dislike, it is a very complete software Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As of now, there is nothing that I dislike about Exa Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that you can search on the main page by latency and category. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There’s a long wall of customer logos but only one real testimonial, from Cognition. The case studies are linked rather than summarized, so the homepage never shows a concrete before-and-after result. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like best about Exa is how it helps me find relevant information without spending as much time sorting through unrelated results. Being able to search naturally makes research feel more efficient and intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes I need to refine my search several times to get the results I’m looking for. I’d appreciate more control over filtering and narrowing results, especially for very specific research questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Discovering companies through semantic search, being able to adjust my search quickly and easily filtering for companies Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be hard to find company descriptions / I usually leave Exa to double click on results Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
