"Simple and Useful Tool for Data Modeling"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ER/Studio?

I like the data modeling and relationship mapping features the most. They give me a clear view of how different tables are connected, and making changes in the model is pretty easy. It makes it easier for me to understand how tables and data are connected, which saves time when working with SQL or reports. I can check the model first instead of going through everything manually, making the data structure more transparent and organized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ER/Studio?

The interface feels a little old and sometimes it takes time to find the options I need. It can also feel a bit complicated when working with larger models. A more simple and modern UI would make it more easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kortney Phillips of ER/Studio

Hi Anushk,

Thanks for sharing your review! We're glad to hear the modeling and relationship mapping features give you a clear view of how your tables connect. It's also great that checking the model first saves you time when you're working in SQL or building reports.

We also appreciate your feedback about finding options in the interface and working with larger models. We take all user feedback into consideration as we keep improving ER/Studio, so thank you for sharing it.

"Streamlined Database Modeling, Needs UX Enhancement"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ER/Studio?

I really like ER/Studio's visual approach to database modeling. The diagrams make it easier for me to understand table relationships and the overall database structure. I also appreciate the data modeling and documentation features, which help keep my database designs organized and more manageable. The visual modeling makes it easy to see how tables and relationships are connected, helping me understand the database structure quickly. The documentation features are handy for keeping information about the data model organized and easy to review or share with others. Switching from MySQL Workbench to ER/Studio gave me more advanced data modeling and documentation capabilities, especially for visualizing complex database relationships and keeping larger models organized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ER/Studio?

One area that could be improved is the learning curve for some of the more advanced features. The interface can feel a little complex at first, especially for new users. Clearer guidance, a more intuitive interface, and more beginner-friendly tutorials would make it easier to get started. It would be helpful to have more customization options for diagrams and reports, along with better search and navigation for larger data models. More interactive tutorials and practical examples would also make the tool easier to learn and use efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful data modeling with excellent change tracking"
4/5
What do you like best about ER/Studio?

I love most about ER/Studio is the visual modeling experience and the ability to switch between logical and physical models while maintaining their association. Reverse engineering is another feature that I would like to see more often in other products because it creates a model of the database that helps understand what has been built. The compare/merge feature helps keep track of structural changes, and I find the data dictionary, lineage views, and AI Data Modeling Assistant helpful in maintaining definitions and importing specifications to create a model from a business requirement faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ER/Studio?

The interface may be overwhelming for someone interacting with big models and many objects, which requires one to spend time understanding the navigation system. More orientation assistance when first using the main modeling and repository procedures is required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kortney Phillips of ER/Studio

Hi Anit,

Thank you for the thoughtful review! We’re glad to hear ER/Studio’s visual modeling, reverse engineering, compare/merge, and data dictionary capabilities are helping your team spend less time on manual documentation and change tracking. It’s especially great to hear that the repository and version management are delivering clear value on larger projects.

We also appreciate your feedback around navigating larger models and getting started with some of the core modeling and repository workflows. That kind of input is incredibly helpful as we continue working to make ER/Studio easier to learn and use.
