**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bharath K. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

We use Eppo at Delivery Hero for warehouse-native expriment evalutions (in tandem with our own feature flag management tool and sdk). With some analytics engineering investment in setting up a reliable metrics catalog, we have been able to dramatically reduce the overhead in experiment evaluations for our large product organization. Eppo offers an intuitive experiment setup and summary experience that has saved Product Analysts a lot of time and mundane overhead. An additional benefit is that it comes with all the latest statistical evaluations (and corrections, e.g. - when the randomisation and evaluation units do not match in an experiment) that allow us to move past fixed-horizon testing when it makes sense.

In addition, the team, starting right with the leadership, have a strong customer success mindset and are highly responsive on slack to all operational concerns.

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

I don't have a whole lot to complain about, given we were very clear with what we looked Eppo to solve. So there has been no misaligned expectations.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Warehouse-native out-of-the-box experiment evaluations
Sequential Testing that allows to conclude experiments sooner
Level-1 experiment breakdowns (assessing experiment results by user segments, country etc.)
SRM alerts

  ### 7. Accelerated learning cycles

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bradley F. | Director, Data Science, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

Eppo provides us with robust statistical analysis of A/B tests using modern methods that allow us to learn as fast as possible given the the effect size. It was easy to integrate. We were up and going in about 3 days

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

Because it's warehouse native, it makes assumptions about the underlying data models in your warehouse. If they don't match those assumptions, then you need to do work to make everything play nicely together. Fortunately, they are reasonable assumptions and not hard to match if you don't already.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Eppo is solving the problem of experiment analysis. It is the core statistical engine on which we build our data driven decisons for product and operations. It specifically addresses bottleneck in the process that occurs from the time data starts being collected to when it can be analyzed and used. It also standardizes analysis across the company so we can focus the discussion on the results rather than the methods.

  ### 8. Overall good experience, easy to use, standardized way to analyze experiment

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

Easy to add metrics and experiment.
Centralized management.
Support CUPED.

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

Some functions not available.
For example, not able to compare between variants (can only compare variant with control).
Not able to run difference in difference.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Generate result for a/b testing that support the decision of product feature launch.
It save DS time to create a report for each individual experiment. Also the platform make sure the analysis for each experiment is in a standardized centralized way.

  ### 9. Eppo has revolutionized our business

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joanna L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

It's great to have the daily reporting as a result of Eppo - it has led to finding problems faster and getting more buy-in from stakeholders. The advanced analytics is also critical to making better decisions across our business.

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

The updates are only daily, rather than real-time, given computing cost constraints, which limits some of the value. Also the fact that CUPED analysis isn't available (due to compute costs) on the explore graphs means that we sometimes present inconsistent data. Finally, three-way experiments could be better visualized (a vs. b vs. c, rather than a vs. b and a vs. c).

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Eppo gives great visibility into our experiments and has led us to make faster decisions. It's also helped gain adoption for experimentation by easing the analytics burden and showing stakeholders of the value.

  ### 10. Eppo has streamlined our AB testing lifecycle

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

Eppo has the ability to act as both as a data visualization of our test results but also as a record of truth of historical wins and losses

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

Being able to only update results once a day, though that might be more of a limitation on our company's database's end

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Eppo is helping us keep track of all of our experiments, visualize the impact on multiple segments of users, and giving us a report that we can use to communicate results with stakeholders.

  ### 11. Eppo helped us speed up the experimentation process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matias W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

I like the most that Eppo handles all of the calculations around the facts, so this makes the experimentation process available for all the company. And also brings consistency in the way metrics are computed

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

There are a lot of definitions to implement in our warehouse, so i would expect to have cleaer guidelines for scaling the projects: good practices about table materialization, duplication of models (facts-entry points), naming conventions, etc.
Also best practices to integrate feature flags with the experiments, as usually feature flags are implemented by different teams that the ones actually following up on the experiments

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Is helping to unify the experimentation process along different teams of the company. It's easier for us to run experimentation company-wise because of the adoption of this tool.

  ### 12. Efficient and User-Friendly: Eppo Streamlines Experimentation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

Eppo is remarkably easy to use and quick to set up. Eppo has an intuitive interface which makes experimentation measurement a breeze, and the team are very responsive and accommodating, incorporating user feedback into their Product Roadmap. Their commitment to continuous improvement and frequent updates ensures a cutting-edge experience.

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

While Eppo excels in many aspects, a recent concern has been a slight increase in our Data Warehouse costs. Pinpointing the source of this increase has been a bit challenging, but the Eppo support as always on hand to help answer questions.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlined Setup and Intuitive Use: Eppo simplifies the analyses of experiments, reducing the feedback time for experiments. Its intuitive interface empowers users to design and execute experiments, and also use advanced analytics methods, without a steep learning curve, enhancing efficiency and productivity.

  ### 13. Eppo has been a game changer for our A/B Testing program!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

Eppo saves us a ton of time creating and monitoring A/B tests. I love the feature to detect a traffic imbalance - this has saved us multiple times in situations where we had a bug in the bucketing logic. I have been really impressed with the statistical sophistication of Eppo; features like CUPED and the sample size calculator have sped up the process and reduced test durations. Overall, Eppo has reduced the time PMs spend on A/Bs by over 50% and is well-loved by folks at The Zebra. The team at Eppo is so responsive and helpful too, and I predict we will be working with them for a long time.

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

Not many downsides, it is a fairly new product so there are sometimes minor UI bugs and frustrations, but the team is very responsive and fixes issues quickly.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Eppo helps us solve the following problems:

- Monitoring running tests to catch bugs and data quality issues
- Plan tests and calculate sample size
- Quantify the impact of the test on key metrics and assess whether the impact is statistically significant
- Make A/B testing discoverable so any team member can understand how an A/B is performing
- Saving analyst time on manual reporting and calculating sample size

  ### 14. Eppo is a game changer for platform reliability

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan K. | VP of Engineering, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

1. Eppo makes experiment setup easy for engineers with metric collections
2. Eppo is powered off of our Snowflake Data Warehouse, making it easy to integrate complex metrics that require joins across multiple data types, or events that happen signficantly after experiment diversion.
3. Eppo made it easy to create new fact tables for diversion criteria, simplifying metric creation (we were able to key data off of both messages and tenants in minutes, something we struggled to get working with a competing product for weeks).
4. Eppo slices (split by) make it easy to investigate unexpected experiment impact or results
5. The UI is simpler and easier to understand than competing products, while also containing a more powerful feature set.

I've actively recommended Eppo to other startups and one of our VCs.

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

Eppo has a few experiment measurement features we'd really like support for, and I'm sure they'll get to these soon:
1. Pre-post experiments (useful for binary rollouts, runtime environment ugprades, etc that can't be experiment flagged). We've creatively worked around this limitation for now by altering the data we feed Eppo.
2. Automatic experiment updates on flag value ramps. It would be great to see Eppo understand that an Experiment has been ramped (e.g. 10->20% diversion) and for it to automatically update the expected diversion % after that point. Eppo automatically detects variation distribution and messages in the UI that the results are no longer valid, it would be nice to have a mode where it automatically adjusted it's expected variation when it detects stable traffic variations.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Eppo has enabled our team to implement an observability and change management system for our platform infrastructure. We use Eppo to measure changes across a variety of metrics in Courier's Send Pipeline (latency, volume, stage dropoff, error rates, event state, message state) in order to ensure that new changes don't negatively impact our customers. Eppo helps the engineering team observe expected rare events (3 per million messages) and zoom in on impacted slices. Eppo's sequential + CUPED experiment analysis mode gives us the confidence to roll changes out after just a 5% diversion after a few hours.

We're also using Eppo to measure lift in user interface A/B tests, helping us speed up feature adoption.

  ### 15. Very easy to use and powerful experimentation platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

Eppo simplifies the entire experimentation process. The platform is straightforward to set up, and I'm particularly fond of its direct integration with our data warehouse. The Eppo support team is consistently prompt in addressing any inquiries and incorporating suggested features into their roadmap. Ultimately, it has significantly reduced the incremental costs associated with conducting experiments for our team.

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

To save on query costs results only update once per day and when you add a new metric then you either need to wait or run a custom refresh which adds some friction to the process when trying to test whether the setup is correct. There have also been a few ui bugs but these were resolved quickly by the Eppo support team.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Eppo lets us quickly set up and run experiments right from our data warehouse. This helps analysts save time, as they can rapidly calculate sample sizes and track important metrics. It also shifts the business focus towards speed. The platform is really easy to use and has boosted our ability to experiment on a bigger scale.

  ### 16. Eppo makes it fun and easy to do A/B tests again! It makes it painless to be statistically rigorous

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

Without Eppo, running and analyzing A/B tests consistently (and accurately) in a company is a nightmare. Eppo makes it a breeze to set up metrics, and then handles the statistics automatically so you don't have to wrestle with it. The statistical calculations just fade into the background so you can focus on more interesting problems. Furthermore, Eppo displays the results in the most intuitive ways. It's easy to share the A/B tests with stakeholders and have them understand the outcome. You don't have to be a statistics expert to use and appreciate Eppo!

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

I don't really have any complaints about Eppo! It requires a bit of care to set up, but once it's set up, it's fairly plug-and-play.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to run A/B tests with multiple product teams each handling statistics "their own way" and reporting results "their own way." Often, those ways were haphazard, incorrect, and difficult to interpret. Eppo fixed all of this.

  ### 17. Improves decision making that leads to greater impact

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

We long suffered from training product managers on manual calculations of A/B test performance based on using traditional BI tools. Statistical significance is not the simplest concept to grasp, understand and utilize in the right ways. Confident we made wrong decisions based on miscalculating during A/Bs that were not stat sig. Eppo has unlocked our ability to standardize our decision making on A/Bs, increased our confidence in making those decisions, and has greatly increased our velocity to make decisions. That has multiple levels of value to an organization.

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

I have not encountered a downside yet as an observer of the analysis it providers, but I am not a pure user. The ability to view performance is straight forward and the UI provides what I need for quick insights.

I'd love to see expansion into general product analytics in the future - confident the Eppo team could do better than tools like Amplitude.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Poor velocity in decision making on A/Bs, and wrong decisons made. Much more confidence gained by our team in making these decisions using this tool.

  ### 18. Eppo enabled us to start experimenting.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Filip S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

The Eppo platform enabled us to start scaling up our use of A/B testing as a way of working. It clear to me that Eppo as a product and company is built up by subject matter experts and it really shows in everything they do. The fact that Eppo sits on top of our BigQuery means that we have full control of our data and at the same time can utilise the platform fully to help us experimenting without giving away our data to a 3rd party. I really like that it makes no assumptions on how we do analytics it just fits perfectly in our data and analytics architecture and strategy That it comes with built in feature toggle is an extra bonus.

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

The UI still is a bit rough at some places and somethings are not as intuitive as I would like it to be. And some UX quirks makes some task takes longer than it needs to be.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Eppo helps us rapidly test our hypothesis and have fast feedback loops. To be able to scale a data driven way of working one need a tool such as Eppo that helps with the statistical analyses and governance around A/B test. I would actually go so far to say that Eppo is the best tool I seen for this.

  ### 19. Healdess Experimentation Platform: Eppo - A Game-Changer!

Lastly, Eppo abstracts the statistical intricacies of experimentation, making it accessible to a wider range of analysts. This democratization of experimentation empowers more team members to run experiments, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making throughout the organization. It enables analysts with varying levels of statistical expertise to contribute to experimentation efforts and drives innovation through data insights.

  ### 20. A tool that ensures we're making better business decisions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Margot V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

Eppo has enabled our business to make more sound decisions about our A/Bs, with its easy-to-read results page.
The sample size calculator has also greatly simplified the way we estimate how long a test takes and made me feel more confident sharing that with stakeholders.
Their response team has also been outstanding; any issues that we find are caught and handled quickly, and they've helped us all level up in our understanding of statistics.

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

If you are not a stats-oriented person, the results page can seem overwhelming.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We previously were analyzing A/B tests with a shotty statistical significance measure, so I often felt uncertain about the output of our tests, but not anymore!
Eppo also has the benefit of sitting on top of our existing data, which means less work for our development team and a clearer view of performance across all our reporting tools.

  ### 21. Eppo is intuitive, easy to use and has unlocked self-serve experimentation analytics at TuneIn

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sridhar S. | Director, Data Science, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

We previously used a home-grown tool for experiment analytics, but we found it somewhat brittle and often needed additional maintenance and support for configuring other metrics.
- Eppo made it easy to set up a collection of metrics that can be used across experiments.
- Handles all the statistics and is very robust, which led to increased trust and confidence in the experiment results
- Easy to use UX -- Made experiment analytics much more self-serve within TuneIn.
- Easy to filter and analyze by various dimensions.
- Periodic feature updates!

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

- Facts and metrics can become challenging to manage once you have a lot of them. It would also be nice to have them version controlled.
- Some reporting around the status of Daily runs in the UI can be good.
- Can take up substantial resources in the warehouse, especially when you have a lot of dimensions. Maybe an option to select / de-select dimensions could be helpful?
- Occasional minor bugs but the Eppo team have been responsive and fixed issues as soon as possible.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reducing the burden of experiment analytics on TuneIn's teams and helping us focus on other problems.

  ### 22. Eppo helps ClickUp rapidly scale product experimentation

-

  ### 23. Eppo is our one stop solution for all things experimentation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Demetri P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

Eppo has put all we need to run our experiments in a single location. Their approach to experimentation is exactly what I was looking for, and had a great balance of statistical appaoches I was familliar with and cutting edge techinques.

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

Eppo is still new in the game, and while I love their existing appraoches to analyzing experiments there are a ton of other methods I'm still waiting for them to implement. I'm sure they'll get there soon.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Eppo is standardizing experimentation at our organization. The largest problem eppo solves for us is getting all users from across the org to agree on a) metrics, and b) the right way to analyze experiments.

  ### 24. Eppo makes standardizing and scaling an experimentation program easy & fast

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah L. | Data science manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

My favorite aspect of Eppo is the integration with existing data models in our native warehouse. The metrics defined for existing ongoing reporting are the same as those we measure and report on in Eppo. No need to configure new SQL or build new events.
Eppo has made experiment setup, management, analysis, reporting and sharing of results so much quicker and easier than it ever was in the past. We have been able to scale the number of experiments we run, drastically reduce setup and analysis time, and increase the reliability of results, all while reducing the burden on our data teams. Our data scientists are now able to spend more time on other projects that help drive our business forward.

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

I do wish that Eppo had a few features that don't exist today.
1. Automated alerting in slack/email/other paging systems when an experiment reaches a milestone or an issue is discovered.
2. Integration with the in-Eppo definition of facts & measures/metrics with our in-house dbt project. Everything defined in Eppo is outside of existing version-controlled systems, which leaves it vulnerable to becoming out-of-sync, and inhibits transparency.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Eppo has made experimentation and AB testing products and features easy, accessible and visible to non-technical stakeholders, standardized and accurate - improving the reliability and trustworthiness of our data, and increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of our data team.

  ### 25. Save 0.5 - 1 full-time analyst salary per year

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sep N. | Group Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

Eppo streamlines experimentation and allows us to self-serve high-level experiment analysis. It makes our analysts more effective by reducing the upfront work they must do to set up every experiment. Their built-in sample size calculator considers several statistical factors, resulting in more accurate estimates for experiment run times.

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

So far, Eppo has been great. We haven't found many downsides. Any platform that offers to automate an aspect of the experimentation process, tradeoffs can appear when experiments become very bespoke or complex. The Eppo team has been open and responsive to our needs.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Eppo is helping us cut down the time analysts spend setting up, running and analyzing experiments. As a product manager, I no longer need to constantly ask about the experiment's state. I can open Eppo and, at a glance, see the progress for each of our experiments.

Eppo also supports sequential testing, allowing us to peek at experiment results without creating bias.

  ### 26. I would highly recommend Eppo to anyone who is serious about working with experimentation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Malin W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

Eppo cover all the needs that you traditionally would have a data scientist do during the experimentation process. Easy to understand, use and with wonderful support from the team at Eppo.

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

The only negative I have to say about Eppo is minor UI/UX details, however small fixes are continously released and do not affect the daily work in any major way.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Eppo solves so many time-consuming parts of the experimentation process, e.g. helping out with pre-analysis through their sample size calculator, pretty much a drag and drop UI to set up your experiment and fast analysis of experiment results. Eppo provides monitoring, diagnostics, customer support, feature flagging etc.

  ### 27. Excellent tool to manage resources efficiently.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vanessa D. | Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

It functions similarly to an LDAP server, managing all users, roles, and permissions and acting as a role definer. It contains a metadata store that allows for the establishment of roles and users. This is quite handy for managing and regulating huge numbers of definitions. One of the most important factors is having the correct repository and being willing to schedule jobs. Eppo provides us with server access, resource access limits, and the ability to manage metadata items via numerous tabs.

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

To utilize this technology, resources must have appropriate data management capabilities. One of the issues I have with Eppo is that data produced on it cannot be accessible by other programs. Other from that, there isn't much to dislike because it is highly informative and adequate instructions are also accessible. Nonetheless, if you have to select something, the Interface may benefit from a refresh.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Eppo is quite useful for managing server and library definitions. Recent update additions, such as grid settings and server control options, are particularly handy for day-to-day use. It has aided in the development of appropriate user processes. The distribution of rights, who can view what, and all of this information can be simply exported. The import and export operations are quite useful, as are the categorization and data classification summary functions, which are the most commonly utilized and aid in data management.

  ### 28. Eppo is a huge time-saver!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tori H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

Eppo vastly simplifies experiment setup and monitoring, which has created massive time savings in my role as a Data Scientist. Eppo also provides excellent visibility to all stakeholders, with statistical guardrails in place to protect against poor interpretations of experiment progress or results.

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

You have to be thoughtful about data modeling and ingestion in order to unlock Eppo's full capabilities. This requires back-end work that is not immediately apparent.

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Setting up, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on experiments is a time-consuming process. Eppo streamlines all of these steps with a simple interface that also promotes cross-functional transparency and self-service.

  ### 29. Intuitive and easy to use experimentation platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Theodore M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Eppo?**

I really like using eppo because I trully feel like I could leverage the power of a statistical engine without any formal statiscal training.

However, the best part has been connecting with the Eppo-team who have been so helpful in every aspect.

**What do you dislike about Eppo?**

As a person with limited stats knowledge and experience from other platforms, the heiriarchy of enntities (facts, definitions and metrics) were a bit confusing in the beginning.

Most likely a reflection of me rather than Eppo as a platform

**What problems is Eppo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Democratising experimentation in our organisation eventually making teams focus on building the right thing.
