First of all, for me the best of Entuity is the support team/Service. It has always been quick ,direct and efficient, with great skilled people solving practically 100% of our needs even when it required some development of config files ( provided directly by support). The automatic and default monitoring profiles for network technologies providing a base monitoring for each specific technology has always been another big rock, covering 99% of our needs. You add a device, you get the standard metrics by default ( cpu,mem, psu/fan/modules status, interfaces status/util etc) but also additional objects and metrics specific of that technology ( for example, Virtual services/pools status and connections for a loadbalancer, QoS, BGP peers status, etc) . Also for any new technology not "supported" by default , Entuity provides in just a few days the config files needed for support it .The custom polling solution can cover the rest of needs if they are not implemented by default by Entuity. The filters and correlation events rules administration allows you to do anything you want with events. Out of the box rules and actions are usually enough, but when you need some advanced processing of events, you can execute Groovy scripts. This allows you to develop your own flows, and we have used it extensively, for example when an specific trap arrives from a source, evaluate the varbinds , poll for other devices/oids , parse and evaluate the result and modify the event in consequence. We have rules for correlating F5 active/passive events, vpn tunnels, advanced messages parsing... Management capabilities of devices seems to be another great feature. Although we have not used it, potentially you can use Entutiy as a Configurations manager, providing backups, diffs, and even alarms when a config has been modified in one of your devices. Also the new feature of managing firmwares is very interesting and we will evaluate it too. The product obsolescence is very easy to maintain. I've been updating the product since v14 to v20, and all the times even major versions are very straightforward to update without impact in Production. Patches are more or less monthly solving bugs but also providing new features, and you can update in 10 minutes. Help and documentation is extensive, clear and accurate. The maps feature is also another cool point of Entuity, we use it with some aggregations by countries and datacenters and they work great. SurePath functionality has turned out to be a key feature for us too. **What do you dislike about Entuity?** Custom polling through web user interface is still not very intuitive and needs some advanced experience. It could be better. You need to document yourself, view some videos and most of the times if you need to poll and process something a little bit complicated for the first time ( mostly dynamic tables ) you will need some help from support team. Dashboards capabilities are improving version by version, but they could be more flexible at dashlet level, for example, choose a metric and aggregate by X. I guess the database model doesn't allow all the things you can do in other platforms. **Recommendations to others considering Entuity:** If I have to choose just one thing from the product: Support service. It has always been a 10. **What problems is Entuity solving and how is that benefiting you?** Automatic/default monitoring profiles makes our lives very easy , providing 95% of our needs. Entuity can map the network infrastructure monitoring to services so it easily gives a view of the availability of key points for business. It's very stable and efficient, you don't have to care about the metrics to be retrieved, by default it retrieves and display you every metrics of every single device! In this way you cannot forget to monitor some important parameters of your devices that could be useful during a troubleshooting operations or for a later evaluation. It's flexible, you can organize data in the way you prefer, it comes out with powerful API allowing a lots of operations or automation over the tool. During my experience i've never experienced a crash or a slow down behavior, polling is perfect. On the end-user side, i think currently there is no better tool: all information about your devices are complete and available in a very 'intuitive' way. The HTML5 web interface is really modern and, for the admin, it allows you to speed up configuration with simple drag and drop, not bad! Thresholds settings give you the possibility to manage them in a very flexible way, with different level of granularity. It comes out with a lots of integration towards other tool, like Truesight event manager, to manage events and alarm also outside of the tool. **What do you dislike about Entuity?** It's hard to find something i dislike, probably i could find only something to improve. But every software can be improved, this is called continuous development. Currently i don't think to have nothing more to ask from Entuity. **Recommendations to others considering Entuity:** Use it to monitor networking equipment, for other devices like simple server it's not recommended. **What problems is Entuity solving and how is that benefiting you?** Complete monitoring of the network infrastructure. Homogeneous monitoring of every devices (all necessary metrics are retrieved and monitored). I've saved a lot of time avoiding to configure every single metric to be monitored, as usually should be done on other monitoring tools. Excellent stability, i saved a lot of time as Entuity is always up and running. Out-of-the-box integration with Truesight, i didn't have to spend time for custom integration. ### 35. It meets all of my requirements so far. **What problems is Entuity solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were looking to get away from Solarwinds complicated module based licensing model where you're forced pay maintenance on a number of different components that you may or may not even use in order for the components you do use to work properly. Utilize them during evaluation and implementation to implement solutions to some of your more challenging issues. **What problems is Entuity solving and how is that benefiting you?** Numerous applications and hardware solutions are being managed by Entuity via traps instead of their own integrations with our Event Management service. It helped in reducing the different notifications that were useless and bothered me all the time resulting in diverting my attention from work that is most essential for me. Also, its prompt and convenient customization makes it incredible. After it, I am to delete many other products that I was using to fulfill this function which it alone is managing so well. **What do you dislike about Entuity?** In performing few functions I found it a little slow and complicated and that bothered me most about it **What problems is Entuity solving and how is that benefiting you?** Considering in view my experience with Entuity Network Analytics I think it is very helpful for larger environments like that of mine. I have been using it for a long time and have found it proactive in identifying the root cause of network problems which helped in better eradication and in smooth working. The benefits is that we are using a single platform/solution instead of multiple tools to monitor our customer network devices.
