Doing term searches via dtSearch engine gave us a well balanced solution between additional footprint and overall functionality of the application. **What do you dislike about dtSearch?** I do not have any immediate thoughts coming to my mind at the moment which would be useful in this regard. **What problems is dtSearch solving and how is that benefiting you?** Searching text file contents for particular terms, keywords, phrases, near word searches and such. They all are supported via dtSearch and this engine does it well and quickly. ### 4. Search results are very good and consistent, finding things that would be very difficult to search for in other tools. I work as a proposal writer and my group at a former company began using this back in the '90s, and never looked back. Far better search capabilities than any of the "proposal" software tools I have used, and makes them unnecessary for the most part. Handles most file types and will index embedded documents (and documents embedded in an embedded document). Includes proximity searching, which is highly useful, including the ability to set proximity order if necessary. Also searches using Boolean constraints, RegEx, etc. **What do you dislike about dtSearch?** There are a few features I wish they would add: 1. The ability to turn off searching in embedded documents on a per search basis 2. Conceptual searching would be a nice to have **Recommendations to others considering dtSearch:** Get it. Inexpensive, but awesome piece of software! **What problems is dtSearch solving and how is that benefiting you?** Much faster searching, and the ability to search by proximity are really great features. RegEx searching is also useful. I was even able to get it to run on my Mac using WineBottler. I highly recommend dtSearch! ### 5.
