We've been using DNS Made Easy for almost 10 years now. During that time we've had to evaluate other DNS providers for our customers. Not one has gotten close to the uptime and availability of DNS Made Easy. We monitor DNS Made Easy very strictly and during those 10 years we have never seen an outage affecting their entire network. **What do you dislike about DNSMadeEasy?** Their interface is getting old now. It works and they do add new features (like support for CAA records) but it's still clunky. There is an API however there is a single key for all requests for the API. We have ~20 servers generating SSL certificates via DNS authentication and so need this one API key. If it ever gets compromised we're going to have a headache rotating it. **What problems is DNSMadeEasy solving and how is that benefiting you?** Infrastructure we haven't had to worry about. We work with Linux which has the concept of each part of a system doing "one thing well". This sums up DNS Made Easy perfectly :-) ### 5. They've got an API that a developer can leverage to build in automation, as well as some fantastic customer support. There's also a Terraform module if you're using that to manage your Infrastructure. The module makes it easy to commit your DNS records to version control. If you're ever curious about different ways to tackle a problem, they're always available to help walk you through things. Their dashboard is straightforward, albeit a little old-fashioned in the looks department. But it gets you the information you need with minimal mouse clicks. They support multi-factor authentication for logins, which is nice. We've been a customer for over five years and haven't run into any issues. Their pricing is based on the number of DNS queries, and it's easy to see where you're at for the month. **What do you dislike about DNSMadeEasy?** They cap the number of users you can have per account. I believe you can purchase more users if necessary, but this can create pain for some organizations depending on how DNS responsibilities are split up. **What problems is DNSMadeEasy solving and how is that benefiting you?** We're solving DNS needs for some of our solutions that are outisde of AWS/Route53. Much of it is existing infrastructure and because DNS Made Easy has been so solid, there wasn' t much need or appetite to move it. ### 6. The vanity nameservers are robust, and it is possible to set the TTL options as low as one second. The various DNS record types offered are more than sufficient for most custom DNS implementations. **What do you dislike about DNSMadeEasy?** The user interface has the potential to be significantly improved. In essence, the user experience has not changed in the ten years I have been using the service. Not much to say besides that. **What do you dislike about DNSMadeEasy?** Unlike other reviewers here, I didn't find DNSMadeEasy interface to be too intuitive or easy. More of it, some of their features are quite different from other DNS service providers, such as GoDaddy. Most of instructions provided by DNSMadeEasy are inaccurate, incomplete and impossible to follow. Their technical support is 100% email-based. And people working on that writing-only technical support are not too good in expressing themselves in writing. Every little problem or difficulty you report to DNSMadeEasy Support will translate into 10-12 hours e-mail exchange with DNSMadeEasy support representatives. You have to forget any quick solutions to your needs. Responses come once per our. I wish they had an alternative name like DNS for Enterprise. (They do have a slightly different service called constellix that has more features (and a way better name). **Recommendations to others considering DNSMadeEasy:** It's a good product. It plays an essential role in everything, but few people take notice of it. A slow or unreliable DNS server can add to frustrations of web visitors as your pages take longer to load. With DNSMadeEasy, you can relax as they have solid speed globally and are reliable. Scaling with the service is easy given the generous resources they provide. There is even an API for managing DNS records in a custom application or as part of a hosting service. Additionally, their unique "ANAME" record support is useful in scenarios where you want to use a CNAME but you must use an A record for standards support. **What do you dislike about DNSMadeEasy?** DNSMadeEasy still doesn't support DNSSEC, which is challenging but an important asset in securing a domain and ensuring DNS records are authentic. **Recommendations to others considering DNSMadeEasy:** There are several DNS hosting services out there.
