"Affordable NAS, Enterprise Apps, Low Operational Cost"
5/5
What do you like best about DiskStation?

Synology provides a very solid and robust offering with their desktop and rackmount NAS devices. Reliable hardware, provides fast performance for a variety of use cases. We have used them as simple file servers, print servers, iSCSI targets, backup repositories, etc. They also have support with their Active Backup platform for providing disaster recovery options for hypervisors. The integration with Synology C2 provides almost unbeatable cloud storage prices. We were hardpressed to find lower storage costs, even when looking at blob storage in Azure or AWS, as other backup software will have a licensing cost that you must account for on top of the actual cloud storage costs. What do you dislike about DiskStation?

The manufacturer warranty is only 1 year, which can cause issues with downtime and RMAs. Due to the affordable nature, however, it is always an option to have a secondary, high availability or backup NAS. Currently, C2 cloud backup storage is only available in EU datacenters, which could cause issues with certain compliances. Synology is working to make C2 available in USA datacenters, which will remedy this issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
