Is DFIN Venue free, or does it offer a free trial?

No. According to G2 data, DFIN Venue does not offer a free plan or free trial. Users need to purchase a paid plan to access the product. Visit the seller's official pricing page for current pricing details and plan options.

Who is DFIN Venue pricing best suited for?

DFIN Venue's pricing is best suited for mid-market and enterprise firms in investment banking, financial services, and legal services running active M&A or due diligence processes. G2 reviewers from these segments consistently rate DFIN Venue highly and cite document management, buyer tracking, permissioning, and Q&A workflow efficiency as core value drivers. Enterprise reviewers across financial services and investment banking dominate the review base and report strong ROI from deal-intensive use. G2 reviews of DFIN Venue suggest smaller or cost-sensitive businesses may struggle to justify the pricing unless deal volume is high enough to offset the premium relative to lower-cost VDR alternatives.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of DFIN Venue?

According to G2's pricing data for DFIN Venue, no free tier or free trial is listed. DFIN Venue operates exclusively on custom enterprise quotes, meaning there is no self-serve entry-level option to compare against. All access is negotiated directly, with pricing structured around deal volume and data room size thresholds. One G2 reviewer in financial services specifically highlights that DFIN Venue's pricing model uses consistent monthly billing up to certain size thresholds, which aids cost forecasting. Prospective buyers should engage DFIN Venue's sales team directly to obtain a quote tailored to their deal frequency, data volume, and user count.

Is DFIN Venue considered good value for its pricing?

G2 reviewers of DFIN Venue are split on value. High-rating reviewers in investment banking and financial services consistently cite competitive pricing, strong UX, and responsive support as justifying the cost. One mid-market consulting reviewer explicitly calls costs competitive market-wide. However, multiple G2 users flag pricing as a recurring friction point, particularly when pitching DFIN Venue to cost-sensitive clients, and one financial services reviewer notes the pricing model excludes redactions. A small-business reviewer contrasts DFIN Venue favorably against a larger unnamed competitor on cost. Overall, DFIN Venue's pricing skews premium, delivering strong value for deal-intensive users but posing budget challenges for smaller or less frequent users.

"Professional, Easy-to-Use VDR with Predictable Pricing and Friendly Support"
3.5/5
What do you like best about DFIN Venue?

Venue is a good choice for a virtual data room. The sales rep I deal with is extremely friendly and always willing to be flexible and help with pricing, general support, etc. The pricing structure is also good as monthly billing remains the same up to certain size thresholds. This makes it much easier to forecast total cost for our client - other virtual data room providers don't offer this style of pricing. The VDR design is also very professional and rivals the large competitor. I have also not had any issues with downtime or the platform not working, etc. The platform is easy to use for both the administrator and user. I was able to learn how to operate the VDR very quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DFIN Venue?

The large competitor provides a redaction tool that is very useful and works very well (i.e. you can redact parts of a document directly in the VDR. It would be great if DFIN Venue could also develop a similar service as this is a time consuming task for M&A processes and having a redaction tool directly in the VDR is a large time saver. Also opening the data room is a bit more of tedious process with DFIN compared to the large competitor. DFIN requires you to fill in a long form to determine the main VDR functionalities and settings. In the large competitor's VDR, the settings are editable in the platform so you can make changes as needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
