"Up-to-Date, Accurate Trade Data with an Easy Interface, investment worth it."
What do you like best about Descartes Datamyne?

Descartes is a suite of services that really can provide up to date and accurate information of critical business information for making proper business decisions. Their interface is really easy to use and shows very large international databases related to international commerce transactions at a great detail.

The investment against the ROI is good if you have a lot of transactions per month and in a year.

The onboarding process is very good, and its support efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descartes Datamyne?

The software comes with a set of databases per country. If the country you deal with is not in then primary list, there is an additional cost.

Something not great of the databases is that the countries providing the data have different levels of disclosure and that impact the time to obtain a conclusion for a certain product or tariff that you analyze. Sometimes making it impossible to reach a trustable conclusion. This issue is not generated by Descartes Datamyne, but is a fact live. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy-to-Use Bill of Lading Data for Granular Trade Flow Analysis"
What do you like best about Descartes Datamyne?

For broad HS categories, Datamyne helps me narrow my searches to specific commodities, which allows for more granular analysis of trade flows. Because it’s easy to use, I don’t have to spend a lot of time tweaking search queries; I can simply enter the commodity I’m interested in and review the bill of lading data. This makes it easier to supplement the other trade data I already have access to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descartes Datamyne?

One weakness is that, in some instances, parts of the data have to be estimated, which means it loses some credibility as a primary source. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Trade Insights, Usability Needs Improvement"
What do you like best about Descartes Datamyne?

I like most about Descartes Datamyne is it gives deep, reliable trade-flow data in a simple, visual way. I love the granular shipment details, like shipper, consignee, HS Code, origin/destination, which help me see exactly who ships what, where, and how often, so I can plan lanes, ports, and risks clearly instead of guessing. The easy filters and charts let me slice data by country, product, or client in seconds and turn it into simple visuals for leadership and operations. Saved searches and alerts cut repetitive work and notify me when new shipments arrive, so I can respond quickly to changes, disruptions, or opportunities. Together, these features make Descartes Datamyne feel like a smart 'trade-flow radar' that supports my logistics, infrastructure, and communication decisions every day. It feels powerful but easy to use, which is exactly what I need for planning and communication. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descartes Datamyne?

A few aspects that could improve: it has a steeper learning curve; the many filters can be confusing at first for new users. More direct integrations with our internal dashboards and analytics tools would cut manual exports. For some non-ocean lanes or smaller trades, data can feel a bit delayed or patchy. I'd like more pre-built views tailored to logistics, port-level capacity, and corridor-risk planning instead of building everything from scratch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable Trade Data, But Needs Efficiency Improvements"
What do you like best about Descartes Datamyne?

I like most about Descartes Datamyne is the structured and detailed trade data it provides. As a senior Java backend developer at PYXIDIA Teachlab, working with reliable datasets is very important when building data-driven systems. I particularly appreciate how the platform offers well-organized data that can be easily used for integrations, analytics, and backend services, which reduces the complexity involved in processing raw data and helps development teams work more efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descartes Datamyne?

While Descartes Datamyne is quite useful for accessing global trade data, there are a few areas that could be improved. As a senior Java backend developer, one challenge is that handling large datasets can sometimes feel slower when performing complex searches or filtering large volumes of records. It would also be helpful if the platform offered more developer-friendly features such as improved API documentation and easier data export options, which could simplify integrations with backend systems. "Robust Trade Insights, Needs Better Usability"
What do you like best about Descartes Datamyne?

I like the depth of global trade data and market insights Descartes Datamyne provides. Access to detailed import and export information helps us better understand market movements and identify potential business opportunities. I especially appreciate the search and filtering capabilities, which make it easier to find relevant companies, suppliers, and trade activities, saving us time on research and allowing us to focus more on building the right partnerships and expanding our business network. The platform reduces the time spent on manual research by providing structured and searchable trade data, which allows our team to make more informed decisions and identify new opportunities more efficiently. The initial setup was easy as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descartes Datamyne?

While Descartes Datamyne is very useful for accessing global trade insights, there are a few areas that could be improved. Sometimes the data interface can feel slightly complex for new users, and it may take some time to get fully comfortable navigating all the features. It would also be helpful if the platform offered more intuitive dashboards and easier data visualization, which could make trade analysis better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent Usability, Poor Customer Service Experience"
What do you like best about Descartes Datamyne?

I think Descartes Datamyne is really great. I find information on it much more quickly than on Import Genius. I also like the usability and the ability to search the whole bill of lading. It's much more user-friendly for finding import records or separate commodities and drilling down on information to find sales targets. We're also able to find additional leads. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descartes Datamyne?

The contract is quite long, and the billing contact was completely unresponsive. We signed up for the global program and realized we didn't need it, but the sales rep said we're locked in, even though all we needed was the USDNA. This resulted in a big price difference that I didn't understand. The Columbia data is lacking compared to another service we have, which is preferred by our office in Columbia. The customer service rep was very rude and unhelpful when trying to adjust the level of service. There's not much information available on US exports, which is really unfortunate. "Access to 1st quality database"
What do you like best about Descartes Datamyne?

I appreciate the level of detail available in the information you can access, as well as how simple it is to generate graphic reports using the Visual View. I also find it useful to have the option to save queries and have them automatically updated on a regular basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descartes Datamyne?

When you need to filter by HS Codes, you have to submit each filtered item one at a time, which is quite time-consuming. Additionally, we have noticed that some of the data is not very accurate, such as the weight per pedimento. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alfred Hille of Descartes Datamyne

Thank you so much for this 5-star review on our global trade data software. With regards to your concerns, Datamyne's Advanced Query functionalities allow you to easily add multiple HS codes in one search query. Please connect with your Data Specialist who will assist you in utilizing this feature. Additionally, they will work with you to investigate and resolve any discrepancies with Pedimento records.

"Intuitive Interface and Outstanding Data Accuracy"

The user interface is highly intuitive, making it easy to navigate. I am particularly impressed with the data accuracy and availability, which are outstanding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descartes Datamyne?

Of some countries, import and export data is not available. Perhaps Descartes could find a way to work some "magic" and gain access to a broader range of data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Nandini Singh of Descartes Datamyne
